Decaf Iced Americano

The Decaf Iced Americano is Starbucks’ answer to the classic Americano. It is a decaffeinated espresso that the barista combines with water to create a smooth and rich drink. The barista then pours the decaf espresso over ice and tops it with a dollop of foam or whipped cream. The Decaf Iced Americano is an excellent choice if you are looking for a Starbucks decaf coffee drink similar to a traditional coffee. It has a bold espresso flavor balanced by the smoothness of the milk and cream. I like to order the decaf iced Americano on hot days or when I’m trying to avoid sugar.

Decaf Iced Shaken Espresso

The Decaf Iced Shaken Espresso is another attractive choice if you are looking for a Starbucks decaf coffee drink similar to a traditional coffee. It is a drink that requires you to shake decaffeinated espresso with ice to create a smooth and rich drink. Shaking the decaf espresso adds air to the liquid, giving it more body than a traditional espresso. I order decaf iced shaken espresso when I want a quick drink on the go. It is a smooth and refreshing combination that relaxes me. The shaken cold espresso makes me feel good as I drink it.

Decaf Latte (Iced Or Hot)

Starbucks makes their decaf Latte in the traditional way. Also known as a decaf caffe latte, you brew a decaf latte with a combination of decaf espresso and steamed milk. You can choose to add a variety of flavors and additions to it, including chocolate, masala chai, mate, Turmeric, or matcha. If milk isn’t your thing or you can drink it due to dietary restrictions, you can request steamed almond or soy milk instead. The combination of milk and decaf coffee is classic, and this is one of my favorite Starbucks decaf coffee drinks. The hot version is perfect on a cold morning, and the iced version is lovely in the afternoon when you want something refreshing to drink.

Decaf Frappuccino

The frappuccino is one of the most iconic drinks at Starbucks. Starbucks offers a few variations of the frappuccino, but they all use the same formula: coffee blended with ice and syrup and topped with whipped cream and spices. The frappuccino is practically a dessert due to its high amounts of sugar and cream. I often found myself craving one as an after-dinner treat but had to avoid them because of the caffeine in the drink. However, since Starbucks makes decaf Frappuccinos, you can enjoy one whenever you want. My favorite is the Decaf Mocha Frappuccino. This Starbucks decaf coffee drink combines Starbucks’ decaf mocha sauce, milk, ice, and Starbucks’ decaf coffee Frappuccino Roast. The Decaf Mocha Frappuccino is my favorite Starbucks decaf coffee drink because it perfectly balances sweet and coffee flavors. The chocolate is not too overwhelming, and the coffee cuts through the sweetness. It is also a pretty drink, so it is perfect for a photo op.

Decaf White Chocolate Mocha

The decaf white chocolate Mocha is one of the most delightful decaf drinks at Starbucks. A mocha is quite similar to a decaf cappuccino or latte. It utilizes a decaf espresso and warm milk base but adds some delightful chocolate and sugar. You can think of it as a hot chocolate with a shot of decaf espresso. I think the combination of chocolate and coffee is a match made in heaven, and white chocolate is even better. White chocolate has a distinct taste that is more unique than dark or milk chocolate, plus white chocolate offers a better color contrast to coffee. Starbucks adds the final touch by sprinkling cocoa powder and cinnamon on top of the drink. The sprinkling of spices is the perfect final touch. The Starbucks decaf white chocolate Mocha is an ideal Starbucks decaf coffee drink if you want something sweet and comforting.

Decaf Flat White

The decaf flat white is a small drink than some of the other latte-inspired decaf drinks on this list. The lower volume makes it the perfect on-the-go drink. Baristas make a decaf flat white by mixing decaf espresso with microform. Microfoam is steamed milk, similar to the milk in a latte or a mocha. However, the microform has a smaller volume, so the final product is not quite as airy and has a smoother texture. A decaf flat white emphasizes the coffee rather than the milk and is a great way to enjoy your favorite blend of decaf coffee.

Decaf Caramel Macchiato

The Decaf Caramel Macchiato is Starbucks’ answer to the popular caramel macchiato. A macchiato is an espresso-based coffee drink with a small amount of milk. Unlike some of the other milk-coffee beverages on this list, a macchiato uses foamed milk which is fluffier and airier than steamed milk in a latte or a flat white. Starbucks makes their Decaf Caramel Macchiato by combining Starbucks’ decaf espresso with milk and caramel flavoring. They top it off with a drizzle of caramel sauce.

Now that you know all the different Starbucks decaf coffee drinks available, you might wonder, can I order any drink at Starbucks decaffeinated? That question is a good one; unfortunately, the answer is no. Generally, there are several rules to follow when ordering decaf coffee at Starbucks. When arriving at the counter, be explicit and tell the barista that you want your drink decaf. Beyond that, you can order any espresso drink, brewed coffee, or pour-over as a decaf. These three drink types cover the vast majority of the drinks available at Starbucks. Additionally, if your favorite Starbucks has a Clover-brewed coffee machine, you can also request decaf options if that is your preferred brewing method. If you are interested in an iced decaf coffee, your options are more limited. The traditional iced coffee and cold brew are not available in decaf. However, you can get any iced espresso drink decaf as an alternative.

  1. Keep in mind that Starbucks only removes 70% of caffeine. While these are correctly labeled “decaf” they are not “caffeine free” because they contain 30% of the normal caffeine.

    • I don’t know where you that bad info but there is no such thing as 70% decaf coffee. It would make no sense. All of the various decaf processes take out 97% of the caffeine. Period.

  2. I’m definitely going to try the caramel macchiato to help me lower my caffeine intake! There are also a few brands that sell decaff. matcha powder on Amazon so you can make decaff. matcha lattes at home 🙂
