Americans have a particular place in their hearts and appetites for pizza, a beloved and beloved food. While neighborhood pizzerias provide a taste of the local charm, there are a number of pizza franchises in the US that have gained national recognition for their mouthwatering and reliably satisfying pies. This piece takes us on a culinary tour of the finest pizza chains in America, honoring the businesses that have come to represent excellence, taste, and convenience. With a variety of options, these chains, each with its own style and method of making pizza, have made a significant contribution to the country’s pizza culture.
Godfather’s Pizza

In 15th spot is Godfather’s Pizza. I could not make a list without including this chain. They are well known for their interesting pizzas, such as the Taco Pie, and the Bacon Cheeseburger. They have over 670 different restaurants across the UK, and are well known for their iconic ads.
Peter Piper Pizza

Peter Piper Pizza is a popular choice as they do have a wide variety of options on their menu in addition to pizza, such as salads. They may not be the most extravagant choice, but they are a popular chain with families, their food is tasty, and it’s great value for the money.
Jet’s Pizza

When it comes to different types of pizza, Jet’s Pizza has got you covered. They offer a variety of options, from thin to NY style, to Detroit-style deep dish. They even offer gluten-free and cauliflower base pizzas. Jet’s Pizza is known for their square shaped deep dish pizzas. The crusts can be flavorized for free, with seasoning such as Cajun, and garlic.
Marco’s Pizza

Marco’s Pizza is a great takeaway joint, that makes delicious pizza, subs, salads, and pizza bowls. They have a good range of sides, and Marco’s is a great option if you are looking for pizza on the go. There are over 800 Marco’s Pizzas chains across the states.
Uno Pizzeria & Grill

If you are looking for a chain that serves a wide variety of food, UNO Pizzeria & Grill is a fantastic option. They specialize in Chicago style deep dish and thin crust pizzas. They serve pasta, salads, burger, soups and steaks too. Their menu is extensive and there are options to suit everyone. It is easy to see why they are such a popular restaurant.
Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut is one of the most iconic pizza joints in America, and is a firm favorite with many. While pizza is the main food they serve, they have a good selection of wings and sides too. Pizza Hut have been established since 1958, and have over 7,000 restaurants in America.
Mellow Mushroom

When it comes to pizza crusts, it does not get much better than Mellow Mushroom. While they may not be the most popular choice on this list, if you have not yet tried them, you definitely should. They offer a variety of pizza topping options, and also sell craft beer, sandwiches, and salads too.
Round Table Pizza

Round Table Pizzas are created using deliciously fresh dough. They have a variety of different flavor and topping options, including the Street Taco Pizza. They are a popular choice with families as many of their chains feature entertainment sections for the kids, and craft beer for the parents.
Sbarro

I could not do a pizza list without choosing Sbarro. Sbarro was the company that created the XL NY pizza. Their pizzas are pie styled, though they do offer thin crusts and Stromboli too. They first opened in 1956, and have over 600 different restaurants across the US.
Papa Murphy’s

Papa Murphy’s menu focuses specifically on pizza, and they are a popular choice. What makes them stand out from their competitors is their “take and bake” style of serving pizzas. The customer chooses the pizza they want and then bakes it at home.
Little Caesar’s

If you are looking for tasty pizza at a low cost, Little Caesar’s is the option for you. You cannot go wrong with their pizzas, they are served quickly, and they are tasty too. They are known for including a lot of pizza toppings, which is just what you want when ordering a pizza.
CiCi’s Pizza

If you are looking for an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet, look no further than Cici’s pizza. It is one of the best in the United States, which is why it is close to the top of our list. They sell a delicious macaroni and cheese pizza, and there are many options to choose from, including salads and pasta too.
California Pizza Kitchen

Now we have reached our top three choices, and what I believe is the best of the best. When it comes to pizza, these choices know how to make them! In at number three we have California Pizza Kitchen. They came up with the idea of a barbecue pizza and this took the world by storm. While their pizzas are delicious, and wood fired, they provide other options such as salads and power bowls too.
Domino’s

When it comes to take away pizza, Domino’s Pizza is arguably the best of the best, and its easy to see why. When you think of takeaway pizza, Dominos is likely the first that comes to mind. They are consistently released interesting new toppings, and their pizzas are great value for the money. They sell a wide range of food, including sandwiches, and chocolate lava cakes.
Papa John’s

Here it is, the best pizza chain in America (according to me)! I think Papa John’s is the best because not only is this takeaway pizza delicious, but it is great value for the money too. Their sauces are delicious, and they also sell things such as wings and sandwiches. While their menu is not huge, if you are looking to eat pizza, they are such a great choice. They have a good range of toppings, and pizza styles. In addition to this, they are generous with their portions and topping amounts. They have a good choice of meat free options too.Overall, they are a pizza chain that you can rely on to serve fresh and tasty pizza every time, without having to wait too long for it too.
I was really surprised by your list. I used to like Domino’s and Little Ceasars. Not a fan of Papa John’s. My top 3 favorites are 3. Pizza Hut 2. Hungry Howies and 1. Marco’s Pizza
Same Marcos is number one to me when it comes to actually pizza quality, I don’t like papa johns or dominions and I honestly think little Ceasers is the worst of all, I feel like Marcos has a good pizza quality especially when it gets cold too, it’s not a brick or an awkward layer of cheese blob. A pizza should be good warm and cold not just one way.
Little Caesar’s above Uno Pizzeria? KIA is better than Mercedes, too.
Absurd ordering, unless the list is comparing sales volume and availability. In fact, I’d almost invert this entire list–it’d be closer to truth.
Lol papa johns number 1 ? This guy is ridiculous. In my honest opinion, DOMINOS definitely number 1 ?? Papa johns like 7 or 8
DOMINOS makes the best tasting cardboard ever!!!!!
Most of these “Pizza Chain’s” wouldn’t even bother coming to our area. No way they could compete with REAL Pizza shops in our area. Only one’s I’ve ever seen my area are Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Papa John’s, Little Caesar’s, Sbarro and Uno. We used to have a Ci Ci’s but it was so awful that it went out of business. Sbarro is “Mall Pizza” that you buy because it has no competition. Uno is Niche pizza if you think Chicago style is any good (It’s not). That leaves the “Big 4”. Papa John’s is glorified frozen pizza at best. I actually think Digiorno’s is better. Little Caesar’s is good for a “pickup and run” pie. Pizza Hut was real good when I was 15 – enough said. That leaves Domino’s. The advantage Domino’s has over all the other’s is that you can customize the Pizza just to your liking much easier than any of the other’s and with the excellent coupon deals they offer, getting a pie on the cheap that actually tastes the way you choose wins. I will always try to order from a local parlor, but when short on cash – it’s Domino’s.
It’s an individual choice but I agree with the list actually. Some in the bottom ranking are not local to me.
Papa Johns’ and Dominos are the worst pizza places on earth. I tried Sbarros once. It’s not even pizza.
Apparently you haven’t had a lot of good pizza. Making Papa John’s and dominoes in the top three is like saying Burger King has the best burger around. Definitely don’t agree with this list at all.
I don’t even know how some of these made the list at all. For taste and quality though, and looking at each brand in your list, Round Table is the best.
None of these places serve actual pizza. They serve gooey globs of dough covered in cheese food and a dab of sugary “sauce.”
God help me find decent pizza in TN. I’m doomed.
Signed,
A New Yorker in Tennessee
Rafael’s in Collegedale, TN is as good as it gets for pizza in the south
YES!!!! PAPA JOHNS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN PIZZA HUT AND DOMINO’S!!!!
Honorable mention, Costco Deli Pizza
Papa Johns? #1???? Really????
Domino’s is tops on my list for value and efficiency. Taste is good across the board in terms of crust type though I am partial towards the thin and crispy.
If confused on WHY Chuck E Cheese isn’t on the list!?!?
