If you want a taste of Brazil in New York City, Churrascaria Plataforma is the place to go.

The interior features beautiful chandeliers and the Brazilian music playing in the background sets the tone for a memorable dining experience.

My go-to order is their Picanha, a succulent cut of beef that melts in your mouth.

They also have an impressive all-you-can-eat salad bar that complements their main dishes perfectly.

Chima Brazilian Steakhouse

Chima Brazilian Steakhouse is among the most successful chains of steakhouses in the US.

They are renowned for the high quality of their beef, but everything else is also of the highest standard.

In addition to the traditional Brazilian steakhouse experience, Chima also offers a sushi bar and rodizio-style seafood options.

I highly recommend trying their grilled pineapple and the flank steak.

Texas de Brazil is a family-owned restaurant that has expanded internationally to bring the traditional churrasco technique of preparing meat to the US.

I love the decor here, as it features a lovely combination of dark wood accents and red walls.

Two of my favorite dishes on the menu here, other than the steaks, are the lobster bisque and the smoked salmon.

Both are unexpected additions to a steakhouse but do not disappoint.

Fogo De Chão

Fogo De Chão is among the most famous Brazilian steakhouses in the world.

The staff at Fogo De Chão are friendly and knowledgeable. Plus, since each restaurant has an open kitchen and warm lighting, you can watch the barbecue masters at work.

Don’t miss out on the lamb here, which is cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth.

In addition, their pork chops are just as noteworthy. 

Chama Gaúcha Brazilian Steakhouse

Chama Gaúcha offers a traditional Brazilian steakhouse experience, with servers coming to your table offering various cuts of meat cooked to perfection.

All of the meat is excellent here, so I’d recommend giving everything a bite.

The salad bar is also a standout, with unique offerings such as hearts of palm and shrimp ceviche.

Make sure you save room for dessert. Their tres leches are one of the best desserts I’ve ever had.

M Grill

If you are craving a steak dinner and a date night in LA, head to M Grill.

The interior is modern-looking and well-polished, but the real star of the show here is the grill menu. My favorite is the ribeye, but the garlic steak is another standout.

They also serve a myriad of traditional Brazilian dishes, including feijoada, moqueca, picanha, and more.

In addition, their Brazilian desserts are amazing, such as Manjar De Coco, which is a pudding made with coconut milk and topped with plumed sauce.

Pampas Grill offers a more casual atmosphere, making it perfect for a relaxing dinner with friends.

They have two locations, one in Culver City and the other at the Farmers Market in Los Angeles. 

Their churrasco menu features various types of meat, including picanha and garlic beef, among others.

I particularly enjoyed the leg of lamb which was moist and tender. They also have great barbecue sauces.

I was also impressed by the salad bar which has over 30 different items on offer, including hearts of palm, smoked salmon, charcuterie, and more. They also have keto and gluten-free options.

The churrasco lunch menu is nothing short of impressive as well, ranging from pork ribs and grilled shrimp to prime aged ribeye and Brazilian pork sausage.

All of the dishes are prepared following the traditional Brazilian recipes and cooking methods, they even use spices imported from Brazil.

While any meat on the menu here is great, I absolutely loved the feijoada and the Caipirinha bar.

I thoroughly enjoyed their picanha along with a raspberry spinach salad.

The various meat on offer here includes beef ribs, pork loin, and chicken drumstick.

They also have an amazing salad bar with different vegetables, sauces, and seasonings to complement the hot dishes.

In addition, all of their classic Brazilian desserts are stunners, so I would highly recommend ordering whichever one catches your attention.

Terra Brasilis Restaurant has an outstanding pay-by-the-pound buffet that features traditional Brazilian food and local dishes.

I’m a big fan of their sausages – and judging by the always-packed parking lot, you can quickly tell that more than a few people have their respective favorite dishes here.

If you’re a vegetarian, I recommend rice and beans, but they also offer many different vegetable and fruit salads. 

Tucano’s Brazilian Grill

Tucano’s Brazilian Grill can be found at multiple locations, and they all share the same energetic decoration and deliver an authentic churrasco dining experience.

The customers are given a Tucanos cue which has a green and a red side that signals the waiters whether to bring more meat from the skewers or not.

Besides the mouthwatering meat, they also have an unlimited salad festival that offers Brazilian and American specialties, including feijoada, seasonal fruit selections, and hearts of palm.

New selections are constantly added to the menu, so chances are you can go for something different every time you visit.

I go to Via Brasil Steakhouse for two things: the brunch and the prime rib.

The restaurant offers a unique brunch option with Brazilian food, with an array of different dishes including their famous pão de queijo.

The aforementioned prime rib is my personal favorite. It’s perfectly cooked and served with a delicious horseradish sauce.

Moreover, their rodizio dinner menu has 19 types of meat, so you’ll likely be spoiled for choice regardless of your preferences.

  1. Yes, you left out Terra Gaucha in Jacksonville, Fl among its other locations as well. Sure puts Texas de Brasil and Fogo de Chao in their rear view mirror. Not that they are bad, it’s just that Terra Gaucha is that much better.

  2. Blaze Brazilian Steakhouse in Irving, TX should have been on the list. One of the most authentic “churrasco” experiences in the nation right in the hart of TX.
