Try the best flavors on the Starbucks cake pop menu

If you’ve ever wanted to have a bite of cake but didn’t want to buy a whole cake or even a slice, Starbucks has just the thing for you: Cake pops.

This reimagined presentation of various cakes puts them on a stick for your convenience, much like you would enjoy a lollipop. Starbucks cake pops are a popular treat to add to your coffee order!

Coming in an array of flavors, many cake pops have fewer than 170 calories, making them the perfect dessert whenever you feel the need to indulge your sweet tooth a bit.

With so many options, I’ve selected my favorite cake pop flavors to help you choose your first cake pop or perhaps discover a new one you’ve never tried before.

Keep in mind that it can sometimes be hard to find each and every flavor at your local Starbucks. So you may have to shop around a bit if you’re looking for one particular cake pop variety.

Chocolate Cake Pop

The Chocolate Cake Pop from Starbucks is relatively simple as far as dessert goes. But if you’re a fan of creamy chocolate cake, surrounded by a hard chocolate shell and coated with little candy sprinkles, this is a homerun dessert.

Chocolate lovers who might be skeptical of the quality and refinement of this quick snack pop should be reassured. The flavor of the cakey chocolate center and the shell around it are top notch, with rich notes of cocoa.

The candy sprinkles are a playful touch, and they lend some extra crunch to each bite.

Did someone say cookie dough? Everyone seemingly loves the flavor of cookie dough, even though I know it’s not supposed to be eaten raw.

Starbucks’ creation of a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cake Pop is safe to eat, sticky sweet, and easy to munch on without making a mess.

For me, it’s the ultimate portable dessert treat! If you’re motivated, you can even experiment with making your own. But that’s a lot more work than buying a Starbucks Cake Pop.

Peppermint Brownie Cake Pop

Peppermint, check. Brownie, check. But peppermint and brownie together? I wasn’t sure about this combination of flavors until I tried one of these cake pops at a Starbucks nearby.

The peppermint flavor almost exploded in my mouth, cutting through the rich and decadent brownie.

The result is a decadent dessert with the mouthfeel of a brownie but the pleasing aftertaste and slight zing of peppermint. And unlike a slice of cake where each bite can lack some of the full flavor of the dessert, each taste of this blend has all the flavors combined.

Birthday Cake Pop

Pretty much everyone alive loves a birthday cake. Even people who don’t admit to enjoying a simple treat like a vanilla cake with icing will probably like the Birthday Cake Pop from Starbucks.

It has a familiar and silky interior and a pink icing exterior with colorful sprinkles.

The whole package is reminiscent of a kid-themed birthday party. One bite, and it seemed like there should be presents and birthday hats for everyone.

Even though the flavors conjure up thoughts of childhood and birthday parties, I could easily see myself buying a dozen or more of these cake pops for a party for adults.

Frosted Donut Cake Pop

Frosted donuts are a decadent treat and an excellent way to get your day going when you need a little pick me up. If you’re looking for a smaller version that still packs in all the flavor of a full-sized donut, you’re in luck.

The Frosted Doughnut Cake Pop from Starbucks is an excellent way to get your donut fix, albeit in a smaller package. The interior is like a slightly denser version of a donut, and the exterior features a dark chocolate coating with pink vanilla-flavored frosting. There are a few cute candies to add some crunch and visual appeal.

Unfortunately, if you’re hoping to indulge your donut craving without overdoing it on your calorie count, these cake pops still pack a lot of sugar and 390 calories.

Rocky Road Cake Pops

These cake pops are one of my favorites. It seems that I’m not alone because Rocky Road Cake Pops from Starbucks have enough of a following that people are experimenting with making their own

Rocky road is a fairly simple flavor to create at home. All you need is peanut butter, chocolate, and marshmallows. But, setting up a home bakery to create these little treats is a bridge too far for me. Plus, I’d probably end up making a whole cake to enjoy if I went to all that trouble.

Instead, I love being able to stop into my local shop and order a couple of pops for dessert when I crave some for the day.

Strawberry Cake Pop

If you’re a fan of the Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino Starbucks introduced in the summer of 2021, you’re probably going to also enjoy their Strawberry Cake Pop.

I think that the secret to the success of the Strawberry Cake Frappuccino and Pop is due to the use of real strawberries. This burst of strawberry adds a freshness to the flavor I wasn’t expecting from the local coffee shop!

The Strawberry Cake Pop is a very tasty treat, and since it’s portable, you can take it with you in the car or on the train for a quick snack.

Unicorn Cake Pop

The Unicorn Cake Pop is a small bite of fantasy. It has a rich cake center, surrounded by a simple white coating with vanilla flavor and covered in a rainbow of multi-colored sprinkles.

Unlike some desserts, the vanilla flavor seems natural, and it’s not cloying or too heavy.

Perfect for kids or adults, it’s almost too pretty to eat. Almost. Each bite is sweet and balanced, and the colorful theme is fun for all ages.

Tiramisu Cake Pop

Tiramisu Cake Pop is probably my favorite. Where some of Starbucks’ Cake Pops seem to be a little fantastical, with lots of colors and almost childish playfulness, the Tiramisu Cake Pop is the adult in the room.

The flavor is chocolatey, with a hint of coffee and background notes of brandy. This treat is spongy, sophisticated, and delectable. Plus, it comes in a handy pop that you can carry with you for a snack later on or eat on the go.

Final Thoughts

Cake pops are a fun and simple way to have a taste of dessert without the fuss of serving a slice of cake.

No plate, napkin, or fork is needed. All you have to do is peel off the wrapper and enjoy. You can use the Starbucks App to order one alongside your favorite coffee beverage today.

If you don’t see one of your favorite flavors on my list, let me know and I will add it to my next flavor-tasting spree.
