Kentucky Fried Chicken, or KFC, is well-known for its succulent fried chicken, but the mouthwatering sauces that go with their renowned dishes are sometimes disregarded. These sauces are not just condiments; they are flavor-filled, hidden-recipe treasures that take the art of dining to new heights. The restaurant’s sauces offer a variety of flavors that excitingly pair with their signature fried chicken, ranging from traditional dipping favorites to unique creations that pack a punch. We’ll take you through a flavorful journey, providing insights into each sauce’s distinct character and how they pair with KFC’s crispy and tender offerings.

With only 90 calories per serving, you can get a real taste of KFC with their famous, world-renowned, signature KFC Sauce. With all the makings of a perfect dipping sauce, the KFC Sauce is some of the best. It’s a rich, deep, smoky blend that’s tangy and a little bit sweet. KFC Sauce is just about as good as it is made from a top-secret combination of ketchup, mustard, vinegar, mayonnaise, and various spices and herbs.  KFC Sauce was once known as the famous Finger Lickin’ Good Sauce, a staple on the KFC menu. The sauce changed to KFC Sauce in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. KFC was simply doing its part to help slow the spread. And even though KFC shocked the world with this change, the new signature sauce has been an acceptable replacement.  I recommend trying KFC Sauce with some pleasant, crispy chicken tenders. Or you could get the 6 Kentucky Fried Wings. Frankly, whatever you choose will be a hit with this sauce to go along with it.

Classic Ranch

Classic Ranch is certainly classic for a reason. It’s creamy and has a great taste that everyone loves. Its rich, creamy texture also has a nice onion and garlic flavor that combines with a delightful herb mix and just the tiniest bit of black pepper. Ranch dressing goes with nearly everything, and you can find it just about anywhere.  I love the Classic Ranch because it adds to the entire homestyle atmosphere that KFC has successfully managed for decades since its inception. Everything about KFC makes you feel like you’re in your Grandma’s kitchen, and the Classic Ranch dipping sauce tops it all off perfectly.  I recommend trying the three-piece Chicken Combo with a side of Classic Ranch to get the whole experience. Adding a side of Secret Recipe Fries might seem like overkill, but trust me, it will bring the entire thing together. With only 100 calories, the Classic Ranch is a nice, low-calorie side option.

Have you ever put honey on your chicken? If not, you need to rectify that immediately. There’s nothing quite so delightful as lovely, rich, sweet honey drizzled on a piece of chicken. And when it’s drizzled on a piece of fried chicken, that’s even better. It’s one of those flavor combinations that you just can’t beat.  KFC’s Honey Sauce is particularly delightful because it goes with just about anything on its menu. If you’re feeling like a bucket of fried chicken, a little honey on the side will be perfect. If you’re interested in a chicken sandwich, you can put honey on that, too.  Maybe you want to get an order of fresh, hot biscuits. Well, if you don’t put honey on that, you’re doing something wrong.  Frankly, Honey Sauce goes with anything, and KFC has figured that out. I strongly recommend adding a side of Honey Sauce no matter what meal you’re ordering. Trust me – you won’t regret that decision.

Honey Mustard

Honey Mustard is one of those classic sauces that you know will taste good no matter where you get it and what you put it on. It’s a classic in the truest sense of the word. There’s just nothing better than good, old-fashioned Honey Mustard. I love KFC’s Honey Mustard because it’s just different enough from regular sauces to be interesting every time you get it. KFC does Honey Mustard particularly well. With only 120 calories per serving, it’s a great addition to any meal.  It’s tough to go wrong when you’ve got delicious Honey Mustard. It’s got that sweet mustard flavor that’s just delightful. You can put it on wings, chicken tenders, fried chicken – whatever you might imagine putting it on.

What happens when you mix tangy and sweet? You get 40 calories of sheer, uncorrupted goodness. The Honey BBQ sauce from KFC is the perfect blend of genuine, authentic American BBQ sauce and the slightest twinge of sweet honey. Together, they make the perfect couple. I have yet to find a meal that doesn’t improve with Honey BBQ sauce. Neither flavor is markedly overwhelming, so you get the perfect blend of each with every bite. It’s just the right amount of BBQ mixed with just enough honey.  If you’re interested in stretching your wings and getting a little something extra the next time you go to KFC, then definitely add the Honey BBQ sauce to your order. In particular, the KFC Chicken Sandwich pairs wonderfully with the slightly sweet, slightly tangy marvel that is Honey BBQ sauce.

Dousing your fried chicken in Hot Sauce from KFC is an experience everyone should have at least once. Even if hot sauce isn’t your favorite condiment, the Hot Sauce from KFC takes it to a whole new level.  I’m inclined to say that you haven’t lived until you’ve dipped your crispy chicken tenders in a pile of hot sauce. It’s one of those things that you just have to do. And KFC’s Hot Sauce is just the right blend of vinegar bite and heat without being overwhelming.  Whenever I get the Hot Sauce, I always put it on my fried chicken. Whether you get chicken tenders, drumsticks, or chicken breasts, it doesn’t matter. The hot sauce is the key component to making the whole experience top-notch.
