If you’ve never been to Bojangles, you don’t know what you’re missing. I don’t live near one of these restaurants, but when I visit the southeast United States, I make a point of eating at Bojangles at least a couple of times during my stay.

The downside is that it’s hard to find chicken and biscuits that are as delicious anywhere else, so I crave them until I get to go back.
The best Bojangles menu items feature their lightly Cajun-spiced and breaded fried chicken. Some of the best food at Bojangles also includes their handmade-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits that taste as good as anything from my grandmother’s kitchen.
Chickens and biscuits are a specialty, and breakfast biscuits like their biscuit with steak or the egg and cheese biscuit stay on the menu all day. You don’t have to hit Bojangles by 10:30 am to enjoy their breakfast food.
I’ve listed the options below that I think are the best Bojangles menu items everyone should try.
Macaroni ‘N Cheese
Bojangles Macaroni ‘N Cheese side dish is good enough to be the main course.
I could eat a whole meal of nothing but this mac and cheese. They cook the elbow macaroni perfectly so that it’s not chewy, but it keeps its shape.
The cheese sauce is creamy, like a good homemade macaroni and cheese dish. You can get the mac and cheese as a side dish with a variety of their meals, but it’s delicious on its own.
This delicious macaroni is one of the best Bojangles menu items that doesn’t have a lot of fancy ingredients. Instead, it tastes like the comfort food you grew up eating.
Bo-Berry Biscuit
The sweet Bo-Berry Biscuit from Bojangles is a bit of a tongue twister to say, but the taste more than makes up for it.
I think the buttermilk biscuit is the best food at Bojangles. They make the biscuits by hand from scratch, and it shows.
The Bo-Berry Biscuit comes packed with berries, a nice twist on the cinnamon raisin biscuits you can find at other restaurants.
The berries add a little more sweetness and texture, so I prefer them to raisins. A sugar icing drizzle tops it off, making this a great breakfast or snack for people with a sweet tooth, like me.
These biscuits are hands-down one of my favorite Bojangles menu items.
Bo-Tato Rounds
The Bo-Tato Rounds are Bojangles’ equivalent to McDonald’s hash browns and Hardee’s hash rounds.
You’ll get an order of basic, round hash brown patties fried crispy with the right amount of salt and seasoning.
I like the mild onion flavor of these potato rounds, which makes them taste like potatoes pan-fried with diced onions as you’d make at home.
These potato rounds aren’t peppery or heavily seasoned with more than a bit of salt to let the fried potato flavor shine through.
The rounds go well as a side dish with the best food at Bojangles to grab for breakfast, like their egg and bacon biscuits.
Country Ham Biscuit
Bojangles Country Ham Biscuit doesn’t look like the breakfast biscuits you get at most casual and fast-food restaurants.
I love the handmade look of the buttermilk biscuits they make each day. You won’t get a cookie-cutter frozen-dough biscuit from Bojangles.
The Country Ham Biscuit provides a basic breakfast of a single buttermilk biscuit and several small rounds of cured ham that’s perfect for eating with one hand in a car on a busy morning. I like it because there’s nothing to drip when I’m in a hurry.
And Bojangles serves their breakfast biscuits all day, so it makes a great lunch or dinner too.
Egg & Cheese Biscuit
The Egg and Cheese Biscuit gives you one of their famous handmade buttermilk biscuits with a fluffy scrambled egg and a slice of American cheese.
This biscuit is one of the best Bojangles menu items and a basic breakfast dish. Still, they cook everything so perfectly that it stands out above the same food from many other restaurants.
Bojangles biscuits taste as good as anything you could make at home. The Egg and Cheese biscuit is another breakfast biscuit that’s good for eating on the go.
While the cheese does melt, it clings to the fluffy biscuit and stays contained, making it an easy sandwich to eat with one hand.
I prefer to sit down and take my time with it because it’s so delicious, but it’s a great option for to-go orders.
Grilled Chicken Sandwich
If you’re in the mood for a chicken sandwich and want to skip the deep-fried chicken that makes Bojangles famous, try the Grilled Chicken Sandwich instead.

You can get a combo with fries and a drink or get the chicken sandwich on its own. I like the chicken breast filet from Bojangles because it’s seasoned enough to be tasty without being loaded with too much salt and pepper.
Bojangles serves the grilled chicken filet on a toasted sesame seed bun with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise.
You can get any of their fixin’ sides instead of fries with the combo, which offers some nice variety.
Sausage Biscuit
This Sausage Biscuit is one of the best Bojangles menu items for people who enjoy eating breakfast on the go and enjoying breakfast foods all day.
I like to sit down to a platter of eggs, sausage, and biscuits but don’t have the time or patience most days.
Instead, I’ll sometimes get a Bojangles biscuit with sausage. Their famous buttermilk biscuits made from scratch every day go so well with the country-style sausage patties.
Sometimes I add a little ketchup for extra flavor, but the juicy sausage patty is well-seasoned on its own.
Steak Biscuit
If you like buttermilk biscuits but you’re not in the mood for ham, bacon, or sausage for breakfast, treat yourself.
Order the best food at Bojangles for breakfast and enjoy a Steak Biscuit.
A hearty piece of country-fried steak and a homemade buttermilk biscuit make a decadent breakfast sandwich.
Country-fried steak often has a much better texture than grilled steak and comes out tender and tasty every time.
I like the Steak Biscuit for variety and one more way to enjoy Bojangles amazing buttermilk biscuits. Enjoy steak for breakfast or anytime, since Bojangles serves this biscuit all day.
4-Piece Chicken Supremes Combo
As a fan of southern food, I love chicken and waffles.
But I love the Bojangles combo with four pieces of fried chicken tenders and a biscuit even more. The chicken tenders are juicy tenderloin filets seasoned, breaded, and fried to perfection.
In addition to the chicken tenders, you’ll get one of their made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits, a drink, and your choice of Bojangles Fixins.
I like coleslaw in the summertime and mashed potatoes and gravy when the weather’s cool.
If you’ve never dipped your chicken tenders in your mashed potatoes, trust me and give it a try next time you order one of the best Bojangles menu items, the 4-Piece Chicken Supremes Combo.
Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit
When I’m in the mood for a bigger breakfast, I like Bojangles Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit.
Bacon and egg always taste great when you combine them, and the slice of American cheese pulls it all together inside a delicious homemade buttermilk biscuit.
The bacon at Bojangles it’s fairly thickly sliced and hickory-smoked, which adds a wonderful flavor to the biscuit.
This option is one of the best Bojangles menu items for biscuit lovers, but I recommend all of their breakfast biscuits. I enjoy eating a biscuit on its own with butter or jam.
Like all their biscuits, you can get this breakfast item all day.
Bo’s Chicken Sandwich
Bojangles was already famous for their chicken and biscuits when they introduced Bo’s Chicken Sandwich.
A marinated juicy chicken filet is hand-breaded and seasoned with a secret spice mix for the best flavor.
Zesty mayonnaise and several thick-cut dill pickles top off this great chicken sandwich. You can also get it in a combo with your choice of one of Bojangles’ famous Fixins and a drink.
Choose seasoned fries, macaroni ‘n cheese, green beans, dirty rice, Cajun pinto beans, coleslaw, or mashed potatoes and gravy to go with your chicken and biscuit.
Cajun Chicken Filet Biscuit
I love that there’s one more way to enjoy Bojangles delicious buttermilk biscuits, this time with a Cajun Flair.
Bojangles Cajun Chicken Filet Biscuit gives you a scratch buttermilk biscuit and a marinated chicken breast filet fried and coated in spicy Cajun seasonings.
Like they do with all their biscuits, they serve the Cajun Chicken Biscuits all day to let you enjoy them anytime. I like to get this in a combo with the Bo-Tato Rounds and coffee.
The Cajun Chicken Biscuit is one of the best Bojangles menu items if you’re looking for something with a little bit of spice.
Mashed Potatoes ‘N Gravy
Bojangles Mashed Potatoes ‘N Gravy is one of their Fixins you can get with most combos, or you can enjoy it on its own.
The potatoes are creamy with the perfect amount of salt, and the southern-style white gravy has a peppery bite to top it off.
The mashed potatoes and gravy here taste similar to Kentucky Fried Chicken or Popeyes.
The dish isn’t unique, but it’s still one of the best Bojangles menu items because it offers what you expect from a good mashed potato and creamy gravy side dish.
Dirty Rice
Another interesting option as a side dish is some of the best food at Bojangles.
The Dirty Rice has sausage and a mix of spices to give it a Cajun flavor.
This dish is still lighter than anything deep-fried or creamy, and the Cajun seasoning isn’t overpowering or so hot you’ll be gulping down the drink that comes with your combo.
Like all of the best Bojangles menu items that are side dishes, the rice goes well with every sandwich and combo.
Garden Salad
Bojangles Garden Salad is one of the freshest and best Bojangles menu items you can get instead of something deep-fried.
If you’re looking for a basic lettuce salad to provide some greens with your meal, you can’t go wrong.
This salad consists of iceberg lettuce, Romaine lettuce, red cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, and grated carrots. A generous sprinkling of shredded Monterey cheddar cheese tops it off.
You get a choice between several varieties of Ken’s brand of salad dressing, including buttermilk ranch, blue cheese, fat-free Italian, honey Dijon, thousand island dressing, and fat-free ranch.
You’ll also get a half-ounce of the cheese garlic croutons that take the salad from something okay to something delicious.
Green Beans
If you’re looking for one of the best Bojangles menu items that’s a little bit healthier, you can get a green vegetable instead of fries or macaroni and cheese.
Bojangles offers green beans with pimientos as a side dish with biscuit meals and other combos.
Green beans are a good option for someone trying to go a little bit lighter with a meal. The green beans also make a good choice if you don’t want a side dish that’s creamy, spicy, or deep-fried.
The green beans are lightly seasoned and have fewer calories than most other Fixins options.
Homestyle Tenders Salad
When you want a salad instead of a sandwich, but you want something more than veggies and dressing, try Bojangles Homestyle Tenders Salad.
This option is my favorite salad from any casual and fast-food restaurant. The base is a mix of lettuces and red cabbage with thick slices of cucumbers, grape tomatoes, and shredded carrots that add color, texture, and taste.
You also get a layer of thinly shredded cheese and a packet of crunchy croutons, but it’s the marinated, hand-breaded chicken tenders chopped up in the salad that make it a great meal.
Whether you want delicious fried chicken and biscuits or you’re craving Cajun spice and flavor, you can satisfy your hunger with one of the best Bojangles menu items.
The restaurant’s variety of side Fixin’s offers something different than the standard order or French fries, too, with creamy mashed potatoes or mac and cheese as options. And if you prefer fries, they’re seasoned to stand out from ordinary fast-food fries, making them extra special.
Don’t forget that they serve their breakfast biscuit sandwiches all day, so you don’t have to miss out if you’re not a morning person!
