Best Starbucks Refreshers and How To Order Them

Our favorite Starbucks refreshers for a fruity caffeine boost

When you think of Starbucks, you probably think of coffee. But as every Starbucks aficionado knows, this beloved chain restaurant is so much more than lattes and cappuccinos. Starbucks refreshers have become popular coffee alternatives.

To become more familiar with what Starbucks has to offer, I recommend you expand your tasting experience beyond just the coffee menu.

Whether sampling the yummy food or a thirst-quenching beverage, you would be surprised by this coffee shop’s culinary range.

One of the best places to start is the Starbucks refreshers menu. Now, you may be wondering: what is a Starbucks refresher?

A Starbucks refresher is a delicious, cold, fruit-infused ice beverage that will open you up to a whole new world of Starbucks flavors.

To help the newbies, I’ve put together a guide of my absolute favorite Starbucks refreshers. Check out my list of the best Starbucks refreshers below!

Very Berry Hibiscus Lemonade Refresher

If you are new to Starbucks refreshers, the Very Berry Hibiscus flavor is a fantastic place to start.

This floral and fruity drink is even better when blended with Starbucks’ classic lemonade, thus creating the Very Berry Hibiscus Lemonade Refresher.

Key ingredients include:

  • Berry Refresher Base (a combination of white grape juice concentrate, water, sugar, green coffee extract, and other natural flavors)
  • Lemonade
  • Freeze-dried blackberries
  • Ice

The caffeine from the green coffee extract is just the right level of an energy boost to get you through the rest of your afternoon without making you jittery.

And I love how pleasantly the berry flavor blends with the tart lemonade.

Overall, a delicious and reliable Starbucks beverage.

Kiwi Star Fruit Lemonade

The Kiwi Star Fruit Lemonade isn’t always aggressively advertised, but I think it’s a hidden gem on the Starbucks refresher menu.

The sweet, tropical flavor of kiwi mixes wonderfully with lemonade, and the hint of green coffee is just what I need to keep motivated on a summer day.

Main ingredients include:

  • Kiwi Star Fruit Refreshers Base (a blend of white grape concentrate, water, sugar, green coffee extract, watermelon and huito fruit juices, and other natural flavors)
  • Lemonade
  • Freeze-dried kiwi
  • Ice

I love that the baristas always shake up the refreshers before serving them: in this case, it blends the refreshers fruit juice with the lemonade and adds a little extra fizz to the beverage’s texture.

Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade

I love the Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade for its amazing color alone.

This bright magenta drink tastes just as vibrant as it looks, making it one of the best refreshers in the Starbucks collection.

The main ingredients of a Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade are:

  • Mango Dragonfruit Refreshers Base (a mix of white grape concentrate, water, sugar, green coffee extract, and other natural flavors)
  • Lemonade
  • Freeze-dried dragonfruit
  • Ice

You won’t want to miss this caffeine-infused fruit beverage: the lemonade is the perfect partner to the mango and dragonfruit combination.

Balancing the tropical sweetness with the citrus flavor of the lemonade works wonderfully, and the freeze-dried dragonfruit pieces are especially delicious.

Dragon Drink

Some folks prefer a drink that’s a little heavier than fruit juice and water, and thus the Dragon Drink is born.

The Dragon Drink combines the fruit refreshers with creamy coconut milk for a magical elixir of sweet and tart flavors.

The key ingredients of the Dragon Drink are:

  • Mango Dragonfruit Refreshers Base (a mix of white grape concentrate, water, sugar, green coffee extract, and other natural flavors)
  • Coconut milk
  • Freeze-dried dragonfruit pieces
  • Ice

With the mix of caffeine, coconut milk, and fruit, the Dragon Drink always makes me feel like I’m drinking a fantasy fruit latte. It’s unique, tasty, and incredibly refreshing.

Pink Drink

Do you remember those pink popsicles you would have as a kid?

Well, I will forever argue that the Starbucks Pink Drink is the grownup version of that.

Originally a popular customized order, the Pink Drink became so well-known that Starbucks went ahead and added it to the official menu.

The basic Pink Drink ingredients include:

  • Strawberry Acai Base (a blend of white grape juice concentrate, water, sugar, green coffee extract, fruit and vegetable juices, and other natural flavors)
  • Coconut milk
  • Freeze-dried strawberries
  • Ice

While strawberries and coconut milk might sound ridiculously simple, it’s also ridiculously delicious.

Strawberry Acai Lemonade

Thank the heavens that Starbucks has its own take on pink lemonade: the Strawberry Acai Lemonade.

This fruit and lemonade mix is the ideal choice if you want a classic summer beverage elevated by an infusion of caffeine.

The key ingredients of the Strawberry Acai Lemonade include:

  • Strawberry Acai Base (a blend of white grape juice concentrate, water, sugar, green coffee extract, fruit and vegetable juices, and other natural flavors)
  • Lemonade
  • Freeze-dried strawberries
  • Ice

I really appreciate the complexity of the flavors in the Strawberry Acai Lemonade—the strawberry is intermingled by hints of passionfruit and acai, and the tartness of the lemonade rounds out the rest of the beverage’s flavor.

Mango Dragonfruit Refresher

It doesn’t hurt to strip your order down to the basics and order a classic refresher, such as the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher.

The bright shade of magenta makes this refresher stand out on the Starbucks menu board.

The main ingredients of the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher include:

  • Mango Dragonfruit Refreshers Base (a mix of white grape concentrate, water, sugar, green coffee extract, and other natural flavors)
  • Freeze-dried dragonfruit pieces
  • Ice

In true refreshers style, the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher is shaken with ice when it’s served, making for a sweet, fruity foam for the first few sips of this tropical fruit blend.

Strawberry Acai Refresher

If strawberry is your favorite flavor, you can’t go wrong with ordering the Strawberry Acai Refresher at Starbucks.

This juice blend is more complex than a basic strawberry juice, and it hits the spot just right when shaken with ice.

The main ingredients of a Strawberry Acai Refresher are:

  • Strawberry Acai Base (a blend of white grape juice concentrate, water, sugar, green coffee extract, fruit and vegetable juices, and other natural flavors)
  • Freeze-dried strawberries
  • Ice

As you sip on this yummy refresher, don’t forget to sample the freeze-dried strawberries mixed in—they taste delicious after having soaked up the juices in the Strawberry Acai blend.

Violet Drink

You’ve heard of the Pink Drink, now get ready for the Pink Drink’s very berry sibling: the Violet Drink.

The Violet Drink at Starbucks also started as a popular custom drink, and then made the transition to a mainstream product.

The key ingredients of the Violet Drink include:

  • Berry Refresher Base (a combination of white grape juice concentrate, water, sugar, green coffee extract, and other natural flavors)
  • Coconut Milk
  • Freeze-dried blackberries
  • Ice

The Violet Drink is creamy, sweet, and tart: a delightfully sassy sequel to the Pink Drink.

As a bonus, the beautiful purple color of the Violet Drink makes for great Instagram content.

Kiwi Star Fruit Refresher

The Kiwi Star Fruit refresher is the best Starbucks refresher to order if you’re in the mood for a light, tropical fruit blend that quenches your thirst.

The Kiwi Star Fruit Refresher is fresh, wholesome, and satisfying.

The main ingredients of this fruit refresher include:

  • Kiwi Star Fruit Refreshers Base (a blend of white grape concentrate, water, sugar, green coffee extract, watermelon and huito fruit juices, and other natural flavors)
  • Freeze-dried kiwi
  • Ice

I love that the Kiwi Star Fruit Refresher has such a distinctive and notable taste without being too overwhelming.

It satisfies a sugary fruit craving without diving deep into the richer flavors like mango or berries.

Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher

The Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher is great for an ultra flavorful, fruity, and floral juice blend.

I simply adore the sweet taste of this berry-themed Starbucks refresher.

The key ingredients of the Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher are:

  • Berry Refresher Base (a combination of white grape juice concentrate, water, sugar, green coffee extract, and other natural flavors)
  • Freeze-dried blackberries
  • Ice

If you like the taste of blackberries, you will definitely need to try this classic Starbucks refresher.

Star Drink

For anyone who wants to get in on the Pink Drink action but doesn’t want something so sweet, I recommend checking out the Star Drink.

The Star Drink is one of the newer renditions of the coconut milk and refresher combination.

The main ingredients of the Star Drink include:

  • Kiwi Star Fruit Refreshers Base (a blend of white grape concentrate, water, sugar, green coffee extract, watermelon and huito fruit juices, and other natural flavors)
  • Coconut milk
  • Freeze-dried kiwis
  • Ice

This drink tastes purely like summer. It’s my preferred beverage when it’s too hot outside for coffee or super sweet drinks, but I still need a refreshing energy boost to get me through the day.

Pink and Purple Drink

The Pink and Purple Drink is not an official Starbucks drink and will require a bit of complex customizing to get right.

However, it’s such an iconic member of the Starbucks refreshers lineup that I would be remiss to not include it.

The main ingredients of a Pink and Purple Drink are as follows:

  • One part Strawberry Acai Base (a blend of white grape juice concentrate, water, sugar, green coffee extract, fruit and vegetable juices, and other natural flavors)
  • Coconut Milk (mixed with the Strawberry Acai)
  • One part Passion Iced Tea
  • Soy Milk (mixed with the Passion Iced Tea)
  • Vanilla Syrup
  • Freeze Dried Blackberries
  • Ice

By layering the strawberry portion of the drink over the passion iced tea portion, you will create a beautiful pink and purple blending effect.

Remember: this is a complicated drink to make, so don’t order it when a Starbucks is busy, and be extra nice to your barista—they might not have ever made this drink before.

Blueberry Açaí Refresher

The blueberry acai refresher comes in a neat to-go can, making it the perfect beverage to order if you need something quick, refreshing, and caffeinated.

The basic ingredients of this refresher are:

  • Blueberry Acai Base
  • Sparkling Water

This unique refresher tastes like a soda version of the classic Starbucks refresher and is ideal for a busy day in the middle of the summer.
