Would you like the lemon and garlic flavors and creamy, buttery taste of a garlic shrimp scampi meal? Or do you like the opulent feel of a Maine lobster tail?

In this review, I will delve into these dishes as well as other delicious options like bacon-wrapped sea scallops, king crab legs, a grilled sirloin, and a lip-smackingly delicious shrimp cocktail.

At Red Lobster, you can even order a large meal of lobster, salmon, and shrimp with two sides.

Gluten-Free Red Lobster Options 

Now, let’s get right into reviewing some of my favorite dishes at Red Lobster.

Garlic Shrimp Scampi

If you love the flavors of garlic and lemon, then make sure to order the garlic shrimp scampi from Red Lobster.

When I’m craving seafood along with an Italian-style dinner, I always go with the garlic shrimp scampi.

The garlic sauce is exquisite, and you’ll have a lemon wedge to sprinkle extra lemon juice over your shrimp scampi. 

The shrimp are well-seasoned with basil, salt, black pepper, oregano, thyme, and rosemary. While you can’t enjoy your shrimp with pasta, you can opt for another side like mashed potatoes or veggies.

You won’t regret choosing this tasty dish. In my opinion, this is one of the best Red Lobster gluten-free dishes on the menu.


Maine Lobster Tail Add-On

You can choose a Maine lobster tail as an add-on option for your dinner.

You can have the lobster tail grilled or cooked in its classical style of steaming or boiling in hot water. At Red Lobster, the waiters serve it with a lemon wedge and melted butter. 

You can choose whatever side you like, such as rice, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, sea-salted french fries, coleslaw, or a house salad. 

Your dietary restrictions may require more vegetable-based sides, so I recommend the Brussels sprouts and house salad.

The mouthwatering lobster tail is an excellent addition to a steak or shrimp.


Bacon-Wrapped Sea Scallops

Who doesn’t love crispy and greasy bacon? Anything wrapped in bacon is absolutely irresistible.

Since bacon has never let me down, I made sure to order the bacon-wrapped sea scallops as a starter when I visited Red Lobster. 

The taste was exquisite! I enjoyed the wine and butter sauce from the sea scallops and the flavor of the meaty bacon.

This dish gets marinated in a white wine sauce with lemon juice, unsalted butter, paprika, and seasoned salt.

Scallops are perfect for the whole family! You can always share this starter or order a few appetizers to split at your table.


Live Maine Lobster – Steamed

When I visited Red Lobster one of the first times, I couldn’t pass the idea of trying out their live Maine lobster.

The steamed lobster here is about 1.25 pounds and is wild caught straight from the Atlantic Ocean.

The fresh lobster was delicious and quite flavorful, especially when drenched in butter and lemon juice.

You can either eat it as is or order it with crab-and-seafood stuffing. The luxurious feel of lobster for dinner only gets better when you order an additional two sides to go along with the meal. 

Personally, I adored the grilled Brussels sprouts and the mouthwatering creamy mashed potatoes. 


French Fries

Do you love to munch down on crunchy and salty french fries?

If you want crispy and fresh fries, then order them as a side when visiting Red Lobster. Here, the chefs season them with sea salt and serve them with ketchup. 

The amount of French fries you get at Red Lobster is impressive. I couldn’t help but smile when I saw the veritable tower of fries land at my table.

They go well with salmon, lobster, shrimp, crab legs, or even grilled sirloin steak.

French fries are always a reliable addition to any protein and I think they’re one of the best sides at Red Lobster. 


Classic Caesar Salad

If you came to Red Lobster for lunch and you’re not too hungry, then a healthy classic Caesar salad is a great choice.

The salad comes with croutons and romaine lettuce, but you’ll have to remove the croutons to make it fully gluten-free.

The standard Caesar salad also has plenty of Parmesan cheese.

The typical Caesar salad dressing includes Worcestershire sauce, dijon mustard, lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil, and red wine vinegar.

You can also consider picking the salad as a starter or on the side with a bunch of shrimp, salmon, or a lobster tail. 


North Pacific King Crab Legs 1.5 Ib

If you’re in the mood for seafood, then you might want to try the North Pacific King crab legs from Red Lobster.

The wild-caught snow crab legs from this restaurant are tender and scrumptious. 

They’re served with plenty of melted butter and a lemon wedge that you can squeeze right onto the tasty crab meat.

This is one of my favorite dishes at Red Lobster, and feels like a happy indulgence. I loved cracking the crab legs open and getting the juicy meat out. 

This platter also comes with two sides, so I chose the baked potato with a house salad.


Baked Potato

The baked potato is a Red Lobster classic. It’s one of my favorites and goes well with a clump of butter melting right on top.

You can also order the baked potato with sour cream or cheddar cheese. There are lots of delicious baked potato toppings to choose from.

What really stands out for me is its simplicity, as the side only requires olive oil, seasoning salt, and pepper.

The salt-crusted baked potatoes are a perfect addition to any protein at Red Lobster like sirloin steak, crab, salmon, shrimp, or another type of fish.

Whatever meal you choose, consider adding a baked potato on the side. 


Steamed Snow Crab Legs

Another fun dish at Red Lobster is the gluten-free and steamed snow crab legs.

This is a pleasant dish in my opinion, especially since the waiters serve it with melted butter and some lemon wedges.

That lemon juice drizzling on the crab meat is a delight.

The snow crab legs come in at ½ of a pound. You can add these crab legs to a larger meal if you like or as a side to go with steak or shrimp.

The buttery crab legs won’t disappoint! I especially love using the lobster cracker to break them open. 


Wood-Grilled Sirloin

Did you want a nice and juicy steak but found your whole family was craving seafood?

Then you should try the wood-grilled sirloin steak from Red Lobster. This is an ideal dish if you’re in the mood for steak.

The seven ounces of sirloin steak is seasoned with peppercorns and is juicy and mouthwatering.

You can pick two sides to go along with it. Personally, I would recommend trying the baked potato or mashed potatoes as well as house salad or broccoli.

Outside of the amazing seafood dishes, the next best choice at Red Lobster is this amazing wood-grilled sirloin steak. 


Mashed Potatoes 

The mashed potatoes at Red Lobster are absolutely to die for!

You can’t go wrong with choosing the creamy and buttery mashed potatoes whether you’re going to pick the sirloin steak, the lobster tail, or the shrimp as your main dish.

There are two main choices you can pick from. The restaurant serves the standard mashed potatoes and creamy lobster mashed potatoes.

This side dish is made with milk, cream, salt, pepper, potatoes, and butter.  

When you bite into this creamy dish, you’ll get taken back to your childhood when eating Thanksgiving dinner with your family and best friends. 


Signature Shrimp Cocktail

Whenever I first walk into Red Lobster and get seated, I start perusing the menu for a seafood starter.

This dish is easily one of my favorite appetizers at Red Lobster. The starter is served on ice with the classic cocktail sauce. 

You’ll love the jumbo shrimp with its blend of sweet and spicy cocktail sauce.

It’s a fantastic choice for sharing with your friends or family.

I definitely enjoyed dipping these jumbo shrimp into the tasty red sauce, so I’m confident you will too!


Coleslaw

Coleslaw is another nice side dish to add to your main meal.

It’s a perfect addition to fried shrimp or another fried dish. The coleslaw at Red Lobster is fresh and has a creamy, crunchy taste.

The typical coleslaw dish includes the following ingredients:

  • Shredded purple cabbage
  • Shredded green cabbage
  • Shredded carrots
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Mayonnaise
  • Granulated sugar
  • Celery seeds
  • Black pepper
  • Salt

Essentially, this is a relatively straightforward dish to make and you’ll get the side brought out pretty quickly when you order it.

It truly shines during the summer on the side of a seafood meal.


Wood-Grilled Lobster, Shrimp, and Salmon

Are you really hungry for tons of seafood?

If you make your way to Red Lobster and you can’t choose just one gluten-free seafood menu item, then consider choosing the wood-grilled lobster, shrimp, and salmon dinner. 

This meal serves a Maine lobster tail with a tasty jumbo shrimp skewer and fresh Atlantic salmon.

The salmon filet has a sweet and creamy brown butter sauce. You can choose two sides to go along with the dish.

I suggest the mashed potatoes and the broccoli or house salad.

This is a great dish to split with your significant other as well.


Grilled Atlantic Salmon

If you want to try a healthy fish at Red Lobster, get the grilled Atlantic Salmon!

The salmon is grilled to perfection – I always add the extra squeeze of lemon to enhance the flavors. This dish comes with two sides of your choice.

I ordered the rice and the Brussels sprouts, but you can’t go wrong with green beans, mashed potatoes, broccoli, or a baked potato either!


Baja Shrimp Bowl

For something tasty but different, try Red Lobster’s Baja Shrimp Bowl.

The Baja Shrimp bowl comes with seasoned shrimp, avocado, black beans, quinoa, red onion, coleslaw, pico de gallo, and jalapeno ranch dressing.

It also comes with tortilla strips, but to make this item totally gluten free you’ll have to ask for it without them.

This is a filling and healthy options at Red Lobster, so give it a try!
