Note: We recommend using thin-cut bacon, not thick-cut, on these to ensure that it will get nice and crisp in the oven. Remove from oven and drizzle with honey while still warm.

  • 16 Medjool dates pitted
  • 4 oz goat cheese softened
  • 8 slices thin cut bacon halved

Method

  3. Slit each date open lengthwise.

The mozzarella and tomatoes are brushed with seasoned olive oil and threaded onto toothpicks. The toothpicks are arranged into a circle around a small dish filled with balsamic glaze, creating a wreath.   • 16 oz mozzarella pearls drained

  • 1 large bunch fresh basil
  • 1/3 cup balsamic glaze

Method
 

  1. Toss tomatoes and mozzarella with oil, seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Thread each skewer: tomato, mozzarella, tomato, mozzarella.
  3. Set a small bowl of balsamic glaze in the center of a round platter.

Bonus, theyโ€™re keto-friendly for the carb-monitors at the party. You can also stuff the mushroom caps in the afternoon, cover, and keep in the refrigerator.   • 24 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Method
 

  1. Drain the olives, mozzarella, and artichokes well.
  2. Fold each salami slice into quarters.
  3. Thread a tomato onto each skewer.
  4. Add mozzarella, then folded salami.
  5. Add an olive and an artichoke piece.
  6. Tuck a basil leaf into the middle.
  7. Arrange on a platter.
  8. Drizzle with olive oil before serving.

Deviled Egg Christmas Trees

We all know the classic deviled egg, but take them up a notch this year by turning them into edible Christmas trees.   • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons finely diced red bell pepper

Method
 

  1. Place eggs in a pot and cover with 1 inch of cold water.
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  3. Cover, remove from heat, and let sit 12 minutes.
  4. Transfer to an ice bath for 5 minutes.
  5. Peel and halve lengthwise.
  6. Add spinach, dill, and mayonnaise to a food processor.
  7. Blend 1 minute until the mixture turns bright green and smooth.
  8. Add yolks, Dijon, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  9. Blend again until no flecks remain.
  10. Transfer to a piping bag with a star tip.
  11. Pipe a tall spiral onto each white, tapering to a point.
  12. Dot with red bell pepper.
  13. Chill until serving.

The goal is to make it easy and follow a ratio. Make two hot-from-the-oven items and four-to-five cold items that can be made and assembled ahead of time.
