The Best Food on the Jack in the Box Breakfast Menu

Grab breakfast at Jack in the Box and start your day with these items.

No other fast-food restaurant is quite like Jack in the Box. Their ads and branding, which focus heavily on Jack, their fictional CEO, are irreverent, hilarious, and often confrontational towards the competition.

Plus, their food is different, too. They offer a much more diverse and creative menu than you’ll find at McDonald’s, Burger King, and the like.

Nowhere is their culinary “egg-cellence” more evident than on their breakfast menu, which offers both familiar favorites and unique creations.

Jack in the Box has sourdough sandwiches, breakfast burritos, pancakes, biscuits, and many other options.

With so many tasty choices, it’s hard to know where to begin, but I’m here to help.

Best Jack in the Box Breakfast

Here’s a rundown of the best Jack in the Box breakfast foods, including their ingredients, when you might want to eat them, and much more.

A delicious breakfast awaits!

Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich

The Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich doubles the ingredients for twice the taste.

It’s a fully-loaded sandwich with two eggs, two slices of ham, two slices of American cheese, and, my favorite, two pieces of crispy bacon. Everything is placed between two light, buttery buns.

It’s one of the biggest breakfast items on the menu. With 31 grams of protein (and 1,040 calories), it’ll deliver enough fuel to keep you going even through a long, busy day.

If you’re interested in something like the Ultimate, try the Loaded Breakfast Sandwich, which has similar ingredients on a grilled sourdough bun. Another alternative is the Bacon Breakfast Jack.

Hash Browns

In my opinion, Jack in the Box makes some of the best hash browns in the breakfast business.

These delicious rectangles are cooked to golden-brown perfection. The outside delivers a satisfying crunch while the inside is warm, soft, and savory.

No matter what sandwich or burrito you prefer, you can make it even better by ordering a side of hash browns.

Jack’s Hash Browns are made from potatoes, canola oil, and palm oil. Note that they do contain wheat, which can pose a problem for those with allergies. They have 190 calories per serving.

Hash browns are the most popular breakfast side Jack in the Box offers. They’re available with every combo meal or separately.

If you’re looking for an alternative side dish, check out their Mini Pancakes or Donut Holes.

Breakfast Jack

The Breakfast Jack is my go-to when I’m looking for a light and tasty way to start the day.

It’s a relatively simple sandwich consisting of a slice of ham, an egg, and a slice of American cheese, all served on Jack’s lightly toasted, buttery bun.

The Breakfast Jack is one of the restaurant’s mainstays, providing a foundation for other sandwiches such as the Sausage Breakfast Jack, Bacon Breakfast Jack, and Chicken Breakfast Jack (one of their newest breakfast options).

One interesting element of the sandwich is how well the bun fits with breakfast ingredients. Like many fast-food places, Jack in the Box uses the same buns for many of their breakfast and lunch items.

However, here, you feel like you’re eating a true breakfast sandwich, instead of eggs on a hamburger bun!

Mini Pancakes

Bite-sized but packed with flavor, Jack’s Mini Pancakes are another one of the best Jack in the Box breakfast foods.

Each order includes eight pancakes plus a side of syrup. They’re made with wheat, milk, soy, and eggs.

Don’t let their size fool you. They’re as light, fluffy, and scrumptious as full-sized pancakes – just smaller. One of my favorite features is that I can eat them when driving (as long as I skip the syrup).

Mini Pancakes are available either as a single item or as part of the Jumbo Breakfast Platter. The pancakes have 140 calories per serving, making them one of the most diet-friendly items on the menu.

Supreme Croissant

Jack in the Box’s Supreme Croissant is another one of their signature menu items. It features a bevy of classic ingredients: fried egg, bacon, American cheese, and grilled ham served on a fresh, flaky croissant.

The bacon deserves a special mention. It’s thicker than the bacon you’ll find at most fast-food joints. Plus, it has a delicious smoky flavor.

While their croissant sandwiches all taste amazing right out of the box, I’ve got a little trick if you’re eating yours at home.

Try sticking each croissant in the toaster on a light setting. Adding a bit of crunch to the sandwich makes it even better!

Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit

If you’re a fan of the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit served at McDonald’s locations, you owe it to yourself to try the Jack in the Box version.

It features the same ingredients (fried egg, American cheese, and bacon) but with bolder flavors.

I love Jack’s buttermilk biscuits. They’re light, flaky, and have a texture that crumbles perfectly with every bite. Note for food allergy sufferers: the biscuits are made with milk, eggs, and wheat.

Do you like the flavor of the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit but want a sandwich with different meat? I recommend their Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit instead.

Grande Sausage Breakfast Burrito

Breakfast burritos are one of my favorite foods at any fast-food restaurant – and Jack in the Box does them right.

The Grande Sausage Breakage Burrito is loaded nearly to bursting with scrambled eggs, bacon bits, shredded cheddar cheese, sausage, hash browns, and two kinds of sauces – Sriracha and cheddar cheese.

Everything is wrapped in a soft, warm tortilla, which is placed inside a foil sleeve. You can easily eat your breakfast in the car without making a huge mess.

All Jack in the Box breakfast burritos include their fire-roasted salsa.

Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit

Think of the Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit as the delicious cousin of the Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit.

They both have a fried egg, slice of American cheese, and Jack’s trademark light and crispy breakfast biscuit – only with sausage instead of bacon.

Jack’s sausage patties are some of my favorites across all fast-food joints. They taste fresh, aren’t too salty, and have just the right amount of kick for your taste buds.

If you’re looking for the ultimate biscuit breakfast experience, try ordering both the Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Biscuit and the Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit.

Combine them to create a bacon and sausage biscuit – it’s perfect for meat-lovers.

Jumbo Breakfast Platter

If you’re looking for an authentic diner experience, order the Jumbo Breakfast Platter.

It’s a full spread of breakfast goodies including scrambled eggs, a larger hash brown, eight pancakes (with two syrup packets), and your choice of either bacon slices or grilled sausage.

It’s the biggest breakfast option they offer, so bring your appetite. It’s also perfect for sharing.

Do note you might want to eat at home or in the restaurant, as tackling the Breakfast Platter while sitting in the car can get messy.

Loaded Breakfast Sandwich

The Loaded Breakfast Sandwich takes all the breakfast items on the menu and places them lovingly between two pieces of perfectly toasted sourdough.

You name a breakfast fave, and it’s in here: sausage, fried egg, ham, bacon slices, and melted American cheese.

My favorite part of the Loaded Breakfast Sandwich is the satisfying crunch as you sink your teeth into the golden-brown bread.

With so many ingredients, each bite offers up new flavors and textures. Plus, it’s so filling that you can eat one for breakfast and stay energized all the way to dinner.

Meat Lovers Breakfast Burrito

Does the idea of fruits and veggies for breakfast make you roll your eyes?

Attention all carnivores, Jack in the Box’s Meat Lovers Breakfast Burrito is sure to get your mouth watering.

It starts with a flour tortilla, scrambled eggs, and cheddar. Then, they add the meat. You get thinly-sliced ham, smoky bacon, and their signature sausage.

As with their Grande Sausage Breakfast Burrito, the Meat Lovers also includes fire-roasted salsa on the side.

Extreme Sausage Sandwich

Who wants a breakfast sandwich with only one sausage? Not me, and not Jack!

Their Extreme Sausage Sandwich is a double-decker delight with a sausage patty, American cheese, a fried egg, and – that’s right – another slice of cheese and a second sausage patty.

While the fried egg adds a noticeably delicious flavor, this is a sausage-focused sandwich, make no mistake about it. They’re one of my favorite Jack in the Box options for an early lunch or as a late-night snack.

Just in case you don’t know: Jack in the Box serves their entire menu 24-hours a day.

Unlike much of their competition, where you have to hurry up and order before 11 am, you can get your fix of eggs, hash browns, and pancakes whenever you want.

Grilled Sourdough Swiss Sandwich

I don’t know about you, but whenever I’ve tried to make a grilled sourdough sandwich at home, I toast the bread either too much or not enough.

That’s why I prefer to leave my sandwich-making to the pros at Jack in the Box.

Their Grilled Sourdough Swiss Sandwich consists of two fried eggs, a slice of American cheese, a slice of Swiss cheese, two slices of ham, and two slices of bacon.

Everything is loaded between two pieces of sourdough bread which are toasted to perfection – every time.

I don’t know which I appreciate more: the crisp taste of the golden-brown bread or how the melted cheese drips down ever-so-slightly to cover the meat and eggs.

What I do know is that you can’t get a sourdough Swiss sandwich this good at home.
