Wawa is a convenience store located in East Coast states like Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Florida.
Folks with a Wawa in their neighborhood are huge fans of the service and snacks! The best Wawa menu items may be your old favorite or your new go-to order!
The store began as a daily farm when George Wood moved to Pennsylvania in 1890. The Wawa Dairy Farm was operational for more than fifty years.
Then, in the 1960s, most households began buying milk in stores instead of utilizing the home delivery option offered by the fam.
Wawa opened its first stores to accommodate buyers’ needs. In 2020, Wawa expanded and opened its first drive-through convenience store!
Wawa offers chips, drinks, and soda. Other popular items include coffee, cappuccino, and hoagies.
Most locations have a full deli with touch-screen self-serve menu listing sandwiches, hot sides, and deli meats. Wawa sells alcohol in Florida, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
The Gobbler
The Gobbler is a seasonal menu item that focuses on traditional Thanksgiving and holiday flavors.
The Gobbler Hoagie is a hot sandwich that includes turkey, gravy, stuffing, and cranberry sauce on a hoagie roll.
Another version is the Gobbler Hoagie with Mashed Potatoes, which offers turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and garlic aioli, all stuffed in a hoagie roll! You can also exchange mashed potatoes for sweet potatoes.
My favorite version of The Gobbler is the Gobbler Bowl, a bed of mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes covered with gravy, turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce.
The Goggler menu is available through December in participating stores.
Mac & Cheese
Wawa serves half a dozen varieties of macaroni and cheese, including Classic Mac & Cheese, Buffalo Mac & Cheese, Ranch Mac & Cheese, Chipotle Mac & Cheese, Sriracha Mac & Cheese, and Garlic Aioli Mac & Cheese.
The side dish is offered in small, medium, large, and family-size.
The classic macaroni is made with macaroni pasta, butter, milk, cheddar cheese, American cheese, parmesan, pepper, and a dash of sugar.
The Mac & Cheese is creamy and satisfying. It is a perfect warm meal on a cold day; it is also very kid-friendly, so if you are stopping in a Wawa with your little one, you are in luck!
Wawa Coffee
The drip coffee is made fresh all day long. For Wawa Rewards members, you can score a free coffee on Tuesdays!
The brewed coffees offer distinct varieties like the sweet and aromatic French vanilla or the smooth and mellow classic blend.
I enjoyed the hazelnut blend that is very nutty and the seasonal holiday blend with notes of ginger, cinnamon, and clove.
In addition to the drip coffee, Wawa offers specialty crafted drinks like lattes and hot chocolates.
Try one of these deliciously flavored lattes like the Mocha Latte, Salted Caramel Latte, Vanilla Sugar Cookie Latte, or the Peppermint Mocha Latte.
Soft Pretzels
The Wawa Pretzel is sold two to a package, and the pretzels are connected in the middle. They are slated and chewy, making a perfect snack.
Soft pretzels are known for their unique texture resembling chewy bread; soft pretzels have a higher moisture content than more miniature snack-sized pretzels.
I enjoy the Wawa pretzels with Gulden’s mustard. What’s great is that the soft pretzel is kosher, nut-free, dairy-free, and vegan.
A good tip is to heat your pretzel for a moment in the microwave to make sure that the interior is warm and soft. Wawa has created a delicious snack.
The Hoagies
Hoagies can be ordered either cold or hot. The customizable offerings are made fresh with every order.
The options for hot subs include Meatball, Cheesesteak, Chicken Cheesesteak, Pepperoni, Breaded Chicken, Roasted Chicken, and BBQ Brisket.
Sizes range from the Junior Hoagie at four inches to the Shorti Hoagie at six inches to the Classic Hoagie at ten inches.
The cold hoagies include Turkey, Ham, Pepperoni, Roast Beef, Veggie, Chicken Salad, and Tuna Salad, to name a few.
What’s great is that Wawa allows customers to add toppings to create their own unique sub. I enjoyed the turkey sub with tomato, cucumber, and spinach.
Buffalo Chicken Bites
A great Wawa snack, the buffalo chicken bites are crispy and flavorful. One pack includes five chicken bites.
The buffalo chicken bites are a bit sweet and also tangy. It is a satisfying snack available in the warmer at most Wawa stores. For five pieces, the snack is about 290 calories.
The Buffalo chicken bites pair well with other snacks, and some Wawa regulars even top the classic macaroni and cheese with the chicken bites.
Try the homestyle chicken bites for a classic crispy chicken snack if you don’t like Buffalo sauce.
Cookie Dough Parfait
The parfait makes for a perfect dessert or sweet treat. A parfait is a layered dessert, usually containing pudding or yogurt with one to three toppings.
With chocolate pudding, cookie dough bites, and chocolate chips, the Wawa Cookie Dough parfait is a once-in-a-while treat that produces a delicious sugar high. I enjoyed the parfait with the classic brewed coffee.
The milk chocolate pudding is creamy and delicious but not too sweet, which is nice since the cookie dough offers a punch of sugar.
Notably, the parfait is nut-free, so those with allergies can still enjoy this decadent chocolate pudding treat.
Frozen Cappuccino
If you are looking for a frozen sweet coffee treat, the Wawa Frozen Cappuccino is a great option.
The Wawa Frozen Cappuccino is available in multiple flavors: Mocha, Caramel, Mint Cookies & Cream, Matcha, and Peppermint Mocha.
You can order your beverage via a touchscreen in most stores and customize your frozen drink.
On a summer day, the frozen cappuccino is a great option to satisfy a sweet tooth and to add some caffeine to your day. The cappuccino does not take long to prepare, and it is one of the best items at Wawa.
Cannoli Dip & Chips
Cannolis are popular in Philadelphia, where Wawa was initially opened, so it’s no surprise that the contemporary version of the store has added a Wawa Cannoli Dip and Chips to their ready-to-eat cafe items. It is a perfect salty and sweet treat.
The dip and chips are served in a plastic container with the dip on one side and the chips on the other.
The dip is topped with miniature chocolate chips. If you don’t finish all of the dip right away, you should refrigerate it for later. The ricotta cheese, which is the main ingredient, needs to be chilled.
Quesadillas
Wawa’s menu features various quesadillas like Cheese, Chicken, BBQ Chicken, Buffalo Chicken, Roasted Vegetables, Chicken Bacon Ranch, Jalapeño Popper, and Cheeseburger.
A quesadilla is a folded tortilla filled with cheese and other meats or vegetables. It is an excellent and easy choice for lunch or dinner—grab a bag of tortilla chips, and you are all set!
My favorite bite was the Chicken Bacon Ranch quesadilla with cheese, bacon, and garlic aioli in a flour tortilla.
Vegetarian options abound when it comes to customizing a Wawa quesadilla; some fillings include roasted vegetables, fresh salsa, sweet peppers, onions, pickles, and roasted red peppers.
Apple Caramel Dippers
The Apple Caramel Dippers are a perfect, relatively healthy treat for children and adults alike.
The green apple is sliced and placed in a cylindrical container, and the tub of caramel dip is sitting atop the apples.
The Apple Caramel Dippers are a delicious addition to a lunch box or a perfect after-school snack.
Wawa also has an apple with peanut butter dip if the caramel isn’t your favorite flavor. These dippers are a great way to incorporate more fruit into your diet, especially if traveling or grabbing food in a rush.
Chicken Caesar Wrap
The ready-to-go salads and wraps at Wawa are great for folks on the go or those stopping by for a quick lunch.
In addition to the Chicken Ceasar Wrap option, other wraps include a tuna salad and a chicken salad.
The wrap is an excellent choice for those monitoring calories intake or seeking a healthier option.
The wrap is low in sugar and an excellent source of protein. Notably, each wrap is marked with a date to ensure quality and freshness.
The Ceasar dressing is delicious and includes anchovies! The wraps are very budget-friendly at around five dollars.
Hash Browns
The hashbrowns are a specialty breakfast item, a classic accompaniment to sandwiches and bacon.
The breakfast menu includes egg-based hoagies and sandwiches, as well as burritos and quesadillas.
The hashbrowns are the perfect, crispy side to pair with each of those! The hashbrowns can also be enjoyed alone as a breakfast bite or snack.
The hashbrowns are rectangles and served in a sleeve. The golden-brown fried potatoes are among the best things on the extensive Wawa menu.
My favorite bit was the breakfast bowl with bacon with two hash browns! Try dunking your hash brown in ketchup for the full experience.
Wawa is an East Coast institution with an extensive menu that includes items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks throughout the day. From quick snacks to full meals, all of the foods in the store are fresh and delicious.
Whether you live in Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, Florida, or are just traveling through; if you see a Wawa convenience store, we definitely recommend you stop for one of the best menu items. Let us know if we missed any of your favorite items, and we’ll be sure to conduct a taste test!
