There are few holidays when every business closes, and Christmas is one of them. In the United States, almost every restaurant business is closed for Christmas day.

But what if you need to get a quick meal on Christmas?

Luckily, there are a few fast food restaurants that keep their doors open, even on Christmas.

If you’re planning ahead and you need to grab food on Christmas day, check out these fast food chains in your local area.

Fast Food Places Open on Christmas

Check out these popular fast food chains that often have stores open on Christmas day.

McDonald’s

One of the most famous fast food restaurants in the world, McDonald’s restaurants often stay open on Christmas day.

Not every location will be open, however, so be sure to check your local McDonald’s before you make the drive.

Hours also vary, so call and ask if you’re looking to grab a McDonald’s burger on Christmas day!

Dunkin’

If you don’t like making your coffee at home, rest easy knowing that Dunkin’ is usually open on Christmas day, as well as Christmas Eve.

This may vary depending on your location, so check with your local Dunkin’ before you get too excited about your Dunkin’ Christmas drink and munchkin run.

Hours also vary here and may be limited on Christmas!

Domino’s

Another restaurant that is often open on Christmas? Domino’s!

Grab some Christmas day pizza if you don’t have dinner plans, or if something goes wrong with your turkey.

Not every Domino’s location is definitely open, and many are independently owned, so their hours may vary. Call your local Domino’s to see if they’ll be open this Christmas.

Denny’s

If you’ve seen The Santa Clause, you may remember that Scott and Charlie visit Denny’s on Christmas.

Most Denny’s locations stay open for Christmas day, and it can actually be a rather busy day for the breakfast chain!

As always, check with your local Denny’s before your roll up for their classic diner food this Christmas.

IHOP

IHOP, much like its breakfast competitor, Denny’s, is also open on Christmas.

While some locations may close, most will stay open according to IHOP’s website.

That means you can stop by IHOP for fluffy Christmas pancakes, or come later in the afternoon for a classic diner lunch on Christmas day.

Waffle House

Waffle House is open 24/7, 365 days a year, and they mean it! That means that Waffle House is open on Christmas.

In years past, every location was open on Christmas Day, so we expect the same this year.

Celebrate at Waffle House this Christmas with your favorite orders, from waffles to other great options.

Starbucks

If you can’t go a day without your Starbucks, fear not. Many Starbucks locations stay open on Christmas day, although often for limited hours only.

Select Starbucks locations are open on Christmas morning, most closing by the late afternoon for holiday hours.

That being said, be sure to call your local Starbucks to see if they’ll be open before you make the drive over for your favorite holiday drink.

Final Thoughts

More businesses are closed on Christmas than on any other day in the US. Luckily, a few major chain restaurants and fast food joints stay open to offer your favorite items even on Christmas! As we mentioned above, always call your nearest location to double check that they are open.

Some other regional chains like Wawa and Sheetz are open on Christmas Day, so your favorite gas station food places may be open as well!
