Best Teas & Tea Drinks at Starbucks

Grab a cup of tea, iced tea, or shaken teas at Starbucks.

Everyone has a go-to Starbucks coffee order. I would argue that being a Starbucks lover is a lifestyle: you have your favorite orders, your preferred locations, and opinions on the best time of day to order. But if you’re not in the mood for coffee, there are plenty of Starbucks tea drinks to choose from.

If you want to enhance your Starbucks knowledge and experience, it is essential to broaden your palate beyond the coffee menu.

Starbucks has a fantastic selection of non-coffee beverages that are the perfect pick-me-up for a weekday afternoon or chill weekend morning.

One of my favorite Starbucks drink menus is the tea menu. Starbucks has some wonderfully flavored tea beverages.

I particularly love the versatility of the tea menu: whether you want hot or iced, caffeinated or decaf, they have a tea beverage to offer.

To help the Starbucks novices, I’ve put together a list of my all-time favorite tea drinks at Starbucks. Check out my list of the best Starbucks tea drinks below!

Iced Green Tea Lemonade

The Iced Green Tea Lemonade at Starbucks is so simple and yet so perfect.

This iced tea beverage is a delightful balance of herbal and sweet and will give you just enough energy to get through the second half of your day.

Key ingredients include:

  • Green tea blend (featuring lemongrass, spearmint, and more)
  • Lemonade
  • Ice

I think of this ice tea as a laid-back, healthier take on a Southern-style sweet tea.

The iced green tea lemonade isn’t as hyper-sweet or caffeinated as sweet tea, but it satisfies that sweet cold beverage craving that always hits you on a warm day.

Iced Peach Green Tea

If you like a fruity, cold beverage on a hot day, but maybe don’t want to indulge in a children’s juice box, the Iced Peach Green Tea at Starbucks is an ideal choice.

This iced tea is herbal, fragrant, and has a sweet fruity flavor that tastes natural and refreshing.

Key ingredients include

  • Green tea blend (featuring lemongrass, spearmint, and more)
  • Peach juice blend
  • Ice

Starbucks performs best when they have minimal but carefully concocted ingredients, and the iced peach green tea emulates that.

The green tea blend is refreshing and unique, while the peach juice is sweet and noticeable without being artificial and overpowering.

Iced Black Tea Lemonade

For the beloved Starbucks tea and lemonade combination, but with an extra kick, try the Iced Black Tea Lemonade.

This is essentially the Starbucks take on an Arnold Palmer, and it’s much fresher and tastier than the stuff you get in the can at the store.

Key ingredients include:

  • Black tea blend
  • Lemonade
  • Ice

I particularly appreciate that Starbucks always shakes the iced tea beverages before they serve them: it allows the flavors of the tea and lemonade to fully blend, as well as distributes the chilling effect of the ice.

Matcha Green Tea Latte

Drinking a matcha green tea latte makes me feel like a sophisticated California celebrity, and the one at Starbucks does not disappoint.

The Starbucks matcha tea latte is foamy, creamy, and flavorful, with just the right amount of sweetener.

Key ingredients include:

  • Matcha tea (a blend of ground green tea and sugar)
  • Steamed milk

A matcha tea latte will give you the satisfying warm and cozy taste of steamed milk and the cleansing sensation of a quality matcha green tea blend.

One sip of the matcha green tea latte from Starbucks and you’ll be feeling refreshed and relaxed.

Vanilla Chai Latte

Chai is a popular variation of tea, known for its satisfying blend of black tea and spice.

Starbucks has a particularly delightful version of chai, with hints of cardamom, cinnamon, and sweetness.

It gets even better when you add some steamed milk and make it a latte.

But if you really want to enhance your Starbucks chai experience, you absolutely have to ask for a chai latte with vanilla.

Ingredients of a vanilla chai latte include:

  • Water
  • Steamed Milk
  • Chai Concentrate
  • Vanilla Syrup (I usually ask for four pumps, but you can do more or less depending on your Starbucks syrup preference)

Honey Citrus Mint Tea

The honey citrus mint tea can be a bit of an underdog at Starbucks, as it is woefully neglected by many customers.

But this wonderful combination of sweet, fruity, and minty flavors can’t be missed.

This tea beverage was originally a custom order but was ordered so frequently that Starbucks decided to put it on the official menu.

Key ingredients include:

  • Steamed lemonade
  • Hot water
  • Peach Tranquility Herbal Tea
  • Jade Citrus Mint Tea
  • Honey

Honey citrus mint tea is a great comfort drink on a cold day: the hot tea will warm you up while the sweet and citrusy flavors help remind you of the spring that is soon to come.

It’s not a flavor combination that I would think of right away, but trust me, it hits the spot.

Matcha Lemonade

For a refreshing and herbal take on the classic summer lemonade, look no further than Starbucks’ matcha lemonade.

This combination of matcha tea blend and sweet, citrusy lemonade is an absolute dream.

The only thing better than the taste of this iced tea beverage is its bright green color, which will complete your warm-weather aesthetic. Main ingredients include:

  • Ice
  • Lemonade
  • Matcha tea blend

This drink is sort of like the bohemian approach to an Arnold Palmer.

The citrus flavor of the lemonade is refreshing and cooling, and the herbal flavors of the green tea round out the beverage and make it more sophisticated than your typical iced teas and lemonades.

London Fog Tea Latte

The London Fog tea latte is one of my favorite things to order at Starbucks.

I may even like it better than my regular coffee order (yes, I know, scandalous).

A London Fog takes everything great about a traditional latte and adds the floral and aromatic flavors of Earl Gray tea.

The main ingredients of a London Fog tea latte are:

  • Earl Gray tea (a blend of black tea, bergamot, and lavender)
  • Steamed Milk
  • Vanilla Syrup

I could sing the praises of London Fog lattes all day long, if you’ve never had the pleasure of sipping on a mixture of warmed milk, black tea, vanilla, and lavender, you are missing out.

Iced Passion Tango Tea Lemonade

This is the tropical-themed iced beverage that summers were made for.

The fruit flavors of the Passion Tango tea mingle exquisitely with the tart and citrus flavors of the lemonade, making for a light and refreshing approach to a classic fruit punch.

Key ingredients include:

  • Lemonade
  • Ice
  • Passion Tango tea (apple, lemongrass, and hibiscus)

The combination of fruit tea and lemonade works great in this drink, especially since the hints of lemongrass in the Passion Tango tea pair well with the lemonade.

I also appreciate that this drink isn’t sickeningly sweet: the notes of cinnamon in the tea blend create a spiced balance to the sugary concoction.

Matcha Green Tea Frappuccino

Have you ever craved a milkshake with an herbal tea twist?

Well, you’re in luck. The matcha green tea frappuccino at Starbucks is a fun way to indulge your sweet tooth while appreciating that green tea flavor.

This green blended beverage is sure to lift your spirits on any day of the week. The main ingredients of the Matcha green tea frappuccino include:

  • Milk
  • Creme frappuccino syrup
  • Matcha tea blend (sugar and green tea)
  • Ice
  • Whipped cream

The matcha frappuccino is one of my go-to’s when I want a special treat that will still leave me feeling refreshed.

I recommend this for anyone who wants the sugary and creamy sweetness of a frappuccino without the heaviness of some of the other flavor options.

Chai Latte

Although a chai Latte is my favorite in the autumn, there’s no time of year that isn’t right for this spiced and warm beverage from Starbucks.

Inspired by traditional chai flavors, this tea blend is mixed with steamed milk to create a beverage that can only be called cozy in a cup.

The key ingredients of a Chai Latte include:

  • Chai blend (black tea, cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper, star anise, cloves, ginger, and other flavors)
  • Water
  • Steamed Milk

I love chai for its sweet and spicy taste, as well as the nice energy boost from the black tea’s caffeine.

Mix this classic tea with some high-quality Starbucks steamed milk, and you have a match made in heaven.

Iced Chai Tea Latte

If iced beverages are more your thing, take a chance on the iced chai tea Latte.

There’s something about an iced chai that brings out the tea’s sweet and spicy flavors.

I find Starbucks’ iced chai latte to be one of their most flavorful caffeinated beverages that don’t over-rely on sweeteners to achieve the taste.

The ingredients of an iced chai latte include:

  • Milk
  • Chai concentrate (black tea with a variety of spices and other flavors)
  • Ice

For a little extra sweetness and flavor, I recommend revisiting the aforementioned vanilla chai latte and making it an iced vanilla chai latte.

Just a few pumps of vanilla syrup added to the original iced chai latte creates a sweet and playful iced chai beverage.

Iced Passion Tango Tea

At Starbucks, sometimes simple drinks are the best.

And that’s certainly the case for the iced Passion Tango tea.

Not quite an over-the-top tropical fruit tea but definitely more flavorful than your average herbal blend, this is my favorite iced tea for a spring day.

Flavor notes of the Passion Tango include:

  • Apple
  • Lemongrass
  • Hibiscus
  • Cinnamon
  • Licorice root, and
  • Variety of fruit and natural flavors

This tea blend has so many different elements that drinking it always feels like an elegant and high-end experience.

I suggest savoring it slowly so you can appreciate all the aspects of the flavor.

Jade Citrus Mint

If my favorite plain iced tea at Starbucks is the Passion Tango, then my favorite hot tea has to be the Jade Citrus Mint.

Mint tea is so incredibly soothing, and this tea blend takes it to another level by incorporating subtle hints of lemon citrus flavor.

The main elements of the Jade Citrus Mint tea blend are:

  • Spearmint
  • Lemongrass
  • Green tea
  • Lemon verbena

This tea is the ideal relaxation beverage on a chilly day—I especially enjoy getting it to-go and sipping on it at home when it’s too cold to be outside.

Starbucks lover tip: add a little bit of honey to your Jade Citrus Mint tea for an extra sweet treat.

Iced Royal English Breakfast Tea

I love an iced black tea latte, so I get excited just thinking about the Iced Royal English Breakfast Tea at Starbucks.

This beverage is made with some of the best black tea leaves on the mainstream market and blended with smooth, creamy milk for a sophisticated and elegant iced drink.

The basic ingredients are:

  • Royal English Breakfast Tea (a black tea blend)
  • Milk
  • Liquid cane sugar
  • Ice

This drink is rich without being overpowering and is a great option if you want to mix it up and get something different from your usual morning iced latte.

Mint Majesty

Whether you’re feeling under the weather or just want a tried and true classic, the Mint Majesty at Starbucks is a charming and wholesome rendition of traditional hot mint tea.

This tea blend is balanced, and the mint is present without being overwhelming.

Basic elements of the Mint Majesty tea blend include:

  • Spearmint
  • Peppermint
  • Lemongrass
  • Lemon verbena

Warm and refreshing, a cup of Mint Majesty tea will set a calm and classy tone for the rest of your day.

Iced Mango Black Tea

The Iced Mango Black Tea was a popular hit when Starbucks introduced it, along with some other beloved fruit-infused Teavana collaborations.

Although the fresh version of the drink has been tragically discontinued in favor of their new line of fruity iced beverages, you can still get this delightful mango black tea drink in the bottled version.

The basic flavor elements are:

  • Teavana Black Tea
  • Mango
  • Lime

I have always loved that this drink is a balanced combination of mango’s tropical playfulness and the gravitas of a traditional black tea.

Additionally, the touch of lime creates just the right amount of citrus flavor you like to have with a black tea beverage.
