Top 9 Starbucks Breakfast Sandwiches

Pair these breakfast sandwiches with your go-to Starbucks coffee.

Starbucks is famous for its coffee. However, while you’re waiting for your pistachio latte or delicious espresso, you might be tempted to try one of their breakfast sandwiches.

Since we know we’ve been tempted to try almost everything they make, we thought it would be good to outline the nine best Starbucks breakfast sandwiches for you to try as well.

Breakfast Sandwiches at Starbucks

Starbucks has a full range of sandwiches to enjoy with your coffee drink. For commuters and others who need to grab a bite to eat while on the move, it’s an easy add-on.

So, are they any good? Let’s look at the best of what they have to offer.

Bacon, Gouda, & Egg Breakfast Sandwich

Starbucks’ version of a bacon, gouda, and egg sandwich has 360 calories and comes on what they call an artisan roll.

The bread is sort of oversized for the sandwich. Your first bite reveals that the dough is pretty chewy, but it’s certainly delicious.

The frittata egg patty with whole eggs, plus Monterey Jack and Gouda cheese, is tasty.

The uncured bacon strips do have quite a bit of salt, however, and the filling seems lost in the doughiness of the bread.

While not a gourmet experience, this sandwich is a tasty way to start your day, and when washing down each bite with a sip of coffee, the chewiness becomes less of an issue.

Double-Smoked Bacon, Cheddar, & Egg Sandwich

This 500 calorie sandwich comes on a croissant.

It looks delicious, with a fried egg patty layered with smoked bacon and sharp cheddar cheese.

The croissant is flaky and buttery, but it may seem a little bit greasier than a fresh bakery version.

The egg is nothing to write home about, but the melty cheese and crispy smoked bacon are stars of each bite.

This sandwich packs a bit of a wallop, but once you try it, you might want two.

Spicy Chorizo, Monterey Jack, & Egg Breakfast Sandwich

Monterey Jack cheese pairs well with spicy chorizo on this 470 calorie breakfast sandwich.

Instead of a traditional roll, bun, or croissant, its egg, meat, and cheese blend come on a potato roll. The chorizo patty is a refreshing twist on the traditional sausage you usually find on this sort of sandwich.

The result is a sandwich with a little bit more zing than you might expect. The pepperiness from the cheese and chorizo cut through the other flavors but aren’t overpowering.

We recommend that you sample a different sauce each time you try this sandwich.

Ketchup adds a nice counterbalance and adding a shot of vinegary Louisiana-style hot sauce made this sandwich a favorite.

Chicken Sausage and Bacon Biscuit

This sandwich is an attempt at being a little more health-conscious than other options.

It has 450 calories. The chicken sausage is juicy and flavorful, and the bacon adds a traditional flavor to the whole sandwich. In fact, the biscuit itself tastes like it has been dipped into bacon juice.

This sandwich stands out when you take the first bite. All the savory ingredients come together into a nice mouthful of flavor and texture.

Then, the spicy and sweet honey-chipotle butter spread offers a refreshing blast of heat, with just a touch of vinegar aftertaste.

This is a breakfast sandwich that is good any time of the day.

Reduced-Fat Turkey Bacon & Cage-Free Egg White Breakfast Sandwich

At only 230 calories and with less fat than you’d expect to find, Starbucks turkey bacon and egg white breakfast sandwich is a healthier way to start the day than some other options.

However, one thing to watch out for is the high salt content. One sandwich has about 550mg of sodium, representing a significant portion of the recommended daily allowance suggested by the FDA.

Bacon lovers may miss a bit of the bacon flavor they might hope for, and the bread is a bit underwhelming.

However, overall, this sandwich with egg whites, melty low-fat white cheddar cheese, and crispy turkey bacon hits the spot, especially when paired with a hot beverage on a cold day.

Sausage, Cheddar, & Egg Sandwich

This sausage, cheddar cheese, and egg sandwich is hugely flavorful.

It also has plenty of salt and cholesterol, so don’t forget to account for the sandwich’s impact on your dietary health.

Putting aside its nutritional value, this is a great sandwich.

The English muffin is puffy and light with the nooks and crannies you’d expect.

The eggs are scrambled and formed into a patty surrounded by cheddar cheese and a generously-sized sausage biscuit.

Try this one next if you are a fan of the double-smoked bacon, cheddar, and egg sandwich. They’re quite similar, but the sausage adds a sweetness that the bacon version doesn’t have.

Slow-Roasted Ham, Swiss, & Egg Breakfast Sandwich

If you’re a fan of the famous croque-monsieur style of sandwich, don’t miss out on a chance to try this Swiss cheese, egg, and bacon sandwich.

The eggs aren’t part of the traditional French sandwich’s ingredient list, but it doesn’t ruin the party.

Instead, it brings an added layer of silkiness and heartiness to this tasty breakfast sandwich.

The 450 calories might impede those trying to work on their diet, but we’d trade an hour in the gym for another sandwich featuring this flaky croissant roll, fried egg patty, savory, salty, roasted ham, and melted Swiss cheese.

Certified Gluten-Free Breakfast Sandwich

Our biggest issue with this sandwich is that once we tried it and decided that we liked it, we had trouble finding more!

This sandwich features a ciabatta roll, egg patty, reduced-fat cheddar cheese, and uncured Canadian bacon. All ingredients are gluten-free.

The sandwiches are made and sealed off-site, so Starbucks sells them as certified gluten-free but doesn’t guarantee the product to have zero gluten.

It’s reasonably tasty, and while the tough isn’t as starchy as a bread lover might want, it’s not bad.

Put it all together, and you have a solid breakfast on the go, even if you are living a gluten-free lifestyle.

Impossible Breakfast Sandwich

The Impossible breakfast sandwich made its debut in the summer of 2020.

It features plant-based sausage (we’re still not sure what exactly that means), cage-free fried egg, and cheddar cheese sandwiched onto a ciabatta roll.

It has 22 grams of protein, and it almost tastes like traditional sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches.

There seems to be some wisdom behind limiting your intake of processed meats, like bacon and sausage, to maintain a healthier diet.

So, this sandwich is a good option if you’re looking for a breakfast that doesn’t include traditional meat. It’s almost the same, but not quite.
