Where to Eat in Venice, Italy

You will find the La Zucca restaurant close to the Mocenigo Palace-Museum and only a few streets over from the Gelato di Natura ice cream shop.

The eatery is on the corner of Calle Larga and Calle dello Spezier streets. At the restaurant, you can enjoy lunch or dinner on most days except for Sunday.

My favorite dishes at the trendy and laidback La Zucca restaurant include the savory duck with sweet apple slices and the creamy pumpkin soup.

If you’re looking for a great Italian plate of food, try the cheesy zucchini lasagna. For dessert, I loved the sweet and delicious ice cream with blueberries and a sweet sauce.


Trattoria Al Gatto Nero

If you would like to have a waterfront view when dining, then check out the Trattoria Al Gatto Nero restaurant.

You can go shopping in the neighborhood, as there are numerous fun stores and shops to roam around. You can visit the Sogni e Gemme di Silvia shop or the Orchidea collection clothing store.

The upscale seafood restaurant has been around since 1946 and serves incredible dishes like antipasti, grilled clams and scallops, spaghetti with tomato or meat sauce, and mixed grilled fish.

You will also enjoy the local Venetian pasta dish. My favorite dessert here was the sweet and creamy gelato.

The Al Covo restaurant sits close to the Venetian Arsenal, which is a historical shipyard founded during the 12th century. You will also see the San Giovanni in Bragora Catholic church nearby.

You will love the rustic and charming restaurant, as it has tasty, fresh, and local seafood dishes produced by Chef and owner Cesare Benelli.

Benelli first founded the restaurant in 1987 and has been serving locally-served ingredients with wonderful extra-virgin olive oils ever since.

My fave Mediterranean dishes here include a deep-fried medley of shellfish, fish, and veggies.

Are you looking for a waterfront restaurant with incredible chefs?

Ristorante Glam received two Michelin stars in November 2019 and its chefs include Michelin multi-starred chef Enrico Bartolini and Resident Chef Donato Ascani.

The eatery is right by the Fondazione Prada art gallery and the Mocenigo Palace Museum. A few of the best dishes I enjoyed at Ristorante Glam include smoked cuttlefish along with shrimp, spaghetti, and sesame seeds.

You will also absolutely love tasting the grilled lamb with artichokes and mint. If you’re looking for an Italian dish, try the creamy and savory linguine with spicy pepper.


La Palanca

La Palanca is a wonderful waterfront restaurant located right in the restaurant district. Here, you will see numerous eateries like Trattoria Ai Cacciatori, Ostaria Ae Botti, and Ristorante Da Crea.

You can also enjoy the nearby Itaca Art Studio di Monica Martin art gallery and the Teatro Junghans performing arts theater.

At the lovely and welcoming restaurant, I loved tasting the Mediterranean seafood dishes. The authentic Italian food will blow your mind.

You are sure to love trying the seafood antipasti dish, flavorful grilled fish, and creamy pasta with squid and artichokes. You won’t regret it!


L’Osteria di Santa Marina

The L’Osteria di Santa Marina sits right by the Church of San Lio and the Coop supermarket. You will also find numerous other eateries nearby like the Pasticceria Ponte delle Paste Venezia cake shop and the Osteria Al Portego restaurant.

The locally sourced foods here are truly authentic and Venetian-based. The upscale restaurant serves beautiful dishes via both indoor and outdoor dining.

A few amazing dishes here include the cuttlefish with tomatoes and potatoes along with the cold spaghetti with red prawns and pistachio.

You will also adore the ceviche with mango, curry chutney, and almond milk.

The Caffè Quadri stands right near St. Mark’s Square and a few blocks away from the famous Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana library.

The Giardini Reali also stands close to the coffee shop. Furthermore, you can check out the Museo Correr art museum or the Olivetti Exhibition center.

The fun, trendy, and upscale restaurant serves amazing food. My favorites include the fresh caviar and the flaky croissants filled with sweet chocolate cream.

The burrata with dill and cheese is also a great Italian dish. For drinks, I enjoyed sipping on the very caffeinated double shot espresso, the sweet caffe latte, and the cappuccino with almond milk.

You can dine indoors or outdoors at the Michelin star, upscale restaurant. Ristorante Wisteria provides foods that will amaze your senses.

The amazing flavors won’t let you down! You can enjoy all sorts of fish dishes, vegetables, and savory meats.

You can have as many as six to eight courses when dining here. Ask the chef to pair your dish with a wonderful glass of wine.

The upscale eatery serves a wide collection of wines along with fresh ingredients from local markets. The family-run restaurant has an impressive chef and owner Francesca Ciancio who is passionate about cooking and wines.
