The Best Things to Order from IHOP’s Menu

Check out this guide to the most popular IHOP food

The International House of Pancakes, otherwise known as IHOP, is a classic American pancake house that has spread all over the glode, serving up tasty pancakes and other breakfast favorites to communities everywhere. It’s a fantastic place to get breakfast at any time of the day. Plus, they serve lunch items as well like burgers and sandwiches! The best IHOP menu items includes more than just pancakes!

IHOP restaurant

Staying open 24 hours a day, IHOP is always prepared to serve you all of your favorite breakfast foods from pancakes to Belgian waffles and everything in between, but with such a huge menu, how do you know what the best menu items are?

That’s where I come in. As a long-time patron of IHOP, I’ve made it my mission to rank all of what I think are the best menu items from IHOP on one convenient list for all my fellow breakfast-lovers out there. Just keep reading down below to learn all you need to know about IHOP’s best menu items.

Belgian Waffle Combo

Taking first place is the Belgian Waffle combo.

You can’t beat this golden-brown classic when you eat here at IHOP, especially if you wake up with a big appetite.

The waffle itself is pretty massive and then you’ve got the the sides that come with it, so it’s sure to fill you up.

The Belgian Waffle Combo consists of the waffle, 2 eggs served your way, and a choice of either 2 pork sausage links or 2 strips of their custom-cured hickory-smoked bacon.

This combo comes with everything you need to get the day started off right.

Breakfast Sampler

This next IHOP item is called the Breakfast Sampler and this one is for all my fellow indecisive diners out there who have trouble picking just one thing from the menu.

The Breakfast Sampler comes with a little bit of everything.

This massive breakfast feast comes with 2 eggs cooked to your preference, 2 strips of their custom-cured hickory-smoked bacon, 2 pork sausage links, 2 thick-cut pieces of ham, delicious hash browns, and 2 fluffy buttermilk pancakes.

Just make sure you come in on an empty stomach if you’re planning on ordering the Breakfast Sampler.

Big Brunch

Next up is something IHOP calls the Big Brunch.

If you’re looking for a whole breakfast put together on a bun, then this is it. Personally, I love the Big Brunch sandwich because it’s convenient and it combines all my favorite flavors of breakfast into one delicious, handheld meal.

The Big Brunch consists of your choice of protein, including options like a Black Angus beef burger, buttermilk fried chicken, or a grilled chicken breast.

On top of that, you can customize the sandwich with things like avocado, bacon, fried egg, and much more. Don’t forget the side of pancakes!

Original Buttermilk Pancakes

This is what started it all for IHOP. The Original Buttermilk Pancakes are the classic breakfast food that gives the International House of Pancakes its name.

Their classic buttermilk batter has made these fluffy masterpieces famous around the world, and for good reason.

The Original Buttermilk Pancakes come in two serving sizes: the short stack and the full stack.

Depending on how hungry you are, you can either get a stack of 3 or a stack of 5 delicious pancakes topped with a dollop of whipped butter.

All that it needs after that is a generous drizzle of syrup.

Create Your Own French Toast Combo

Up next, I’ve got one for all the French toast lovers out there like myself.

This dish is called the Build Your Own French Toast Combo and it’s everything you could ever want in a breakfast meal.

With this dish, you get a little bit more freedom with your French toast because you can choose what kind of French toast you’d like along with which sides you prefer.

Depending on your location, there will be different types of French toast available at your local IHOP, so check the menu at your local establishment before ordering this one.

2 x 2 x 2 Combo

Next up is the classic 2 x 2 x 2 Combo and this one never disappoints.

The 2 x 2 x 2 Combo consists of 2 pancakes, 2 eggs prepared any way you like, and your choice of 2 custom-cured, hickory-smoked bacon strips or 2 pork sausage links.

The 2 x 2 x 2 Combo is as simple as it gets and it’s pretty much what I think of when I imagine the ideal American breakfast.

I usually prefer mine with the bacons strips instead of the sausage links, and I always order my eggs over-medium.

Bacon Temptation Omelette

The next dish I think you should order from IHOP is the Bacon Temptation Omelette.

This one is for the bacon lovers out there that can’t get enough of that salty, cured goodness. In my opinion, bacon is the ultimate breakfast meat and no morning is truly complete without it.

The Bacon Temptation Omelette is not only stuffed with bacon, but it’s sprinkled on top as well.

Not only that, but the Bacon Temptation Omelette is covered in a melted Jack and Cheddar cheese blend with a phenomenal white sauce.

Finish it off with diced tomatoes and you’ve got the perfect omelette.

New York Cheesecake Pancakes

If you’re looking for a really sweet treat, then this is the one for you.

The New York Cheesecake Pancakes from IHOP are like no other stack of pancakes you’ll ever have.

I usually find myself ordering this one on those late-night trips to IHOP since it’s almost more like a dessert.

The New York Cheesecake Pancakes consist of the Original Buttermilk Pancakes that have been filled with delectable cheesecake bites.

You get 4 of these bad boys to a stack and then they’re topped with glazed strawberries for a little bit of fruity sweetness. These pancakes are irresistible.

Colorado Omelette

The next omlette on my list of best IHOP items is the Colorado Omelette.

This dish is a true classic, in my opinion.

The omeltte comes with bacon, shredded beef, pork sausage, ham, green peppers, onions, and cheddar cheese. It gets even better with a side of salsa to go with it. Don’t forget your choice of side, either. You can have hash browns, fruit, or toast.

You don’t have to go all the way to Colorado for a delicious Western-style omelette.

The Colorado Omelette from IHOP has everything you need for a delicious Rocky Mountain-inspired breakfast.

Country Fried Steak

A true down-south classic breakfast is always going to be Country Fried Steak.

There’s just nothing like it, if you ask me. The Country Fried Steak from IHOP is unbeatable and I highly recommend it to anyone who’s a fan of this traditional favorite.

The Country Fried Steak comes with the golden-brown battered beef steak covered in a delicious gravy along with 2 eggs prepared your way, hashbrowns, and 2 fluffy pancakes.

If it’s up to me, I usually like to have my eggs scrambled with this dish so I can eat them with the delectable gravy that comes with it.

Double Blueberry Pancakes

For this next dish, I want to recommend the Double Blueberry Pancakes from IHOP.

This one is perfect for anyone who loves blueberries, and that definitely includes me.

Not only are these fluffy buttermilk pancakes absolutely chock-full of tasty blueberries, but they are also topped with a sweet blueberry compote for a little extra fruity goodness.

Of course, the blueberry compote on top of the pancakes is optional, but I find that it adds a very welcome extra element of sweetness to the dish.

The Double Blueberry Pancakes don’t come with a side, but I think it’s definitely worth adding a couple of bacon strips to go with them.

Big Steak Omelette

If you’re a steak-lover like myself, but you also really want an omelette too, then you need to consider giving this next dish a try when you eat at IHOP.

The Big Steak Omelette is the perfect combo of an omelette and mouth-watering steak all wrapped into one delicious meal.

I always order the Big Steak Omelette when I wake up feeling like I need a major boost of protein since this one has so much.

Besides all the delectable steak that comes in the omelette, you also get hash browns, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese.

Original French Toast

Now, for a total classic. The Original French Toast is an unbeatable dish that’s been around forever, and IHOP has absolutely perfected their rendition of it.

The Original French Toast from IHOP consists of 6 thick-cut triangles of golden-brown French Toast topped with a dollop of whipped butter with a light dusting of powdered sugar to finish it off.

The final product is the ideal breakfast dish just begging for syrup.

The Original French Toast is a standalone dish with no sides, so it’s perfect for when you’re not exactly starving, but you still want a hearty meal.

T-Bone Steak and Eggs

Steak and Eggs is probably my favorite thing to eat for breakfast, hands down, and IHOP makes a fantastic version of this dish.

The T-Bone Steak and Eggs served at IHOP is amazing and almost guaranteed to satisfy even the biggest appetites.

It’s pretty simple. The T-Bone Steak and Eggs consists of a juicy T-Bone steak cooked to your specifications alongside 3 eggs served your way, but to top things off you also get a stack of 3 classic buttermilk pancakes.

In my opinion, this is the true breakfast of champions. After all, what more could you want?
