Stick to your keto diet with these low carb Five Guys orders.

One of the hardest parts of being on the keto diet is grabbing fast, convenient food. Luckily, fast food restaurants like Five Guys Burgers has some keto-friendly options for a quick bite.

It’s easy to make keto food at home, but restaurants, especially fast-food restaurants, are notorious for their carb-loaded meals. When you’re on the go, though, you want fast, tasty food that you don’t have to make yourself.

Before I was keto, one of my go-to spots was Five Guys. I loved nothing more than ordering a bacon cheeseburger with all of the toppings on a bun. When I first went keto, I thought I’d have to give this up.

I’m happy to report that’s not true. With a few slight modifications when ordering your food, you can enjoy all the best items on the Five Guys menu.

Keto Items at Five Guys 

Below are all the best keto items at Five Guys you can eat to your heart’s content.

Cheeseburger (No Bun)

Who doesn’t love a cheeseburger? It’s savory, salty, sweet, and sour depending on the toppings you choose.

Five Guys does a cheeseburger better than the rest with fresh meat, a hot griddle, and glorious American cheese on top of a sesame bun. 

Luckily, for a keto version of the cheeseburger, just order it without the bun, and voila! You have yourself a keto cheeseburger from Five Guys.

For a regular cheeseburger on a bun without toppings, there are 980 calories with 40 grams of carbs with 240 calories and 39 grams of carbs coming from the bun alone.

That means you can enjoy the cheeseburger keto with only 1 gram of carbs and 740 calories. 


Bacon Cheeseburger (No Bun) 

The only thing I love more than a Five Guys cheeseburger is a Five Guys bacon cheeseburger. What isn’t made better with a little bacon? 

All keto followers know that bacon is one of the best parts of being keto, so you won’t have to skip out on your favorite while diving at Five Guys. 

A non-keto bacon cheeseburger is made with fresh patties, American cheese, and apple-wood smoked bacon on top of a sesame bun for a grand total of 1060 calories and 40 grams of carbs. 

Nixing the bun saves you 240 calories and 39 grams of carbs, meaning you can enjoy the keto bacon cheeseburger for only 820 calories and 1 gram of carbs.  


Hot Dog (No Bun) 

If burgers aren’t your thing or you need a meal more conducive to one-handed eating than a Five Guys burger, try their hot dog without the bun. 

There’s something so nostalgic about hot dogs for me. Five Guys hot dogs bring you right back to a summer BBQ with a caramelized exterior and juicy interior. It’s a simple yet delicious choice.

A hot dog served on a bun totals 520 calories and 40 grams of carbs. Making it keto without the bun makes it only 280 calories and 1 gram of carbs without any toppings.


Hamburger (No Bun) 

If you’re no-nonsense or are dairy-free, the plain hamburger will be your new go-to at Five Guys.

Known for their burgers, Five Guys makes quality patties with the freshest of meat, meaning you don’t need all of the cheese and toppings to make their burger a great burger.

Make their great burger a perfect burger by ordering it without the bun. It’ll make your order only 600 calories and 1 gram of carbs for two patties. 

If you want to make it really special, eat it over a bed of greens with all of your toppings included. 


Cheese Dog (No Bun) 

Step up your dog game with the cheese dog sans the bun for a delicious keto Five Guys experience.

It’s the same grilled to perfection hot dog, just topped with meaty American cheese and whatever other toppings you deem worthy. 

Adding cheese to the hot dog makes it more filling and boosts your fat intake, which is essential for a successful keto diet. 

The bun is 40 grams of carbs and 240 calories, so skipping it will make this glorious dish only 1.5 grams of carbs and 350 calories. 


Bacon Cheese Dog (No Bun)

There’s nothing more American than a good old-fashioned bacon cheese dog.

Without the sesame bun, it’s got all of the best things in life: the caramelized perfection grilled beef dog, gooey American cheese, and crispy apple-wood smoked bacon. 

It’s not your everyday meal, but it’s a pretty good way to treat yourself without sacrificing your keto diet. 

When you order it without the bun, you’ll save yourself 39 grams of carbs and 240 calories, making it only 1.5 grams of carbs and 430 calories – a steal for such a decadent meal. 


All Toppings 

For me, the true glory of a good burger or hot dog lies in the combinations of flavors you can create with your toppings. Five Guys shares that belief, which is why they offer 15 different toppings.

Depending on your palate’s preferences, you can add sauces or condiments to your burger, like mayo, hot sauce, BBQ sauce, A1 sauce, mustard, and relish.

I love to add lettuce and pickles when I’m in the mood for some crunchy freshness. Their onions, jalapeño peppers, and green peppers will also do the trick.

Moreover, probably my favorite is adding some grilled onions or mushrooms for a little caramelized goodness. And, of course, no burger or dog is complete without some sweet tomato.

Almost all of their toppings have less than 3 grams of carbs total, meaning you can pile them up as you see fit. Just avoid the BBQ sauce, as it has 15 grams of carbs.

Final Thoughts

While being keto can be hard, nothing is saying it has to be! You can still enjoy your favorite fast-casual restaurants if you know how to choose options like these keto items from Five Guys. 

Five Guys also has gluten free menu options for those with different dietary restrictions.

Most of the time, you can get away with ordering whatever it is you want without the bun for an easy keto meal. However, be careful around fries. As much as we may want them to be keto, the potatoes used to make French fries are very high in carbs, so they should be avoided.
