Located in Arlington, Virginia, many locals consider Thai Square to be one of the most authentic Thai restaurants in the Washington, D.C. area. A casual dining restaurant, Thai Square is decorated simply, and the star of the show is the food. A trip to Thai Square is not complete without trying their Floating Market Noodle Soup. Their Panang Curry will perfectly compliment the meal, and you will keep coming back for more. In addition to dine in and carryout, Thai Square offers special events. They also offer lunch specials which are a hit for local businesses and residents alike.

Bangkok 54 is located a couple of miles outside of Washington, D.C., on Columbia Pike in Arlington, Virginia. If tourists are lucky enough to stumble upon Bangkok 54 after visiting Arlington Cemetery or the Airforce Memorial, they will have discovered one of the most loved restaurants in Arlington, Virginia. Try their Thai Curry Puff for an appetizer and go for the 54’s Spicy Duck, one of the recommended dishes from the chefs. Attached to their restaurant is the Bangkok 54 Market. Bring a taste of Thai home with you after dining at their delicious restaurant. The items are fresh and authentic, and you can secure hard to find ingredients and other items there.

Thai Treasure is located in Arlington, Virginia, in between Ballston and Virginia Square. This Woman owned Thai restaurant is upscale casual, and beautifully decorated. This restaurant is chic and modern on the inside, and they also host guests at their casual seating on their front patio for warmer days and nights. Perfect for date night, a must try dish is their Andaman Shrimp. Thai Treasure is not only perfect for date nights or gatherings with friends, they have a lunch special that is almost unreal. For a low price, dine in guests can receive an entree with their choice of dumplings or spring rolls.
Sisters Thai

Sisters Thai has four locations through the Washington, D.C. area. Three of those locations are in Northern Virginia, and one is in Potomac, MD. Decorated with flower walls and a colorful Palette, Sisters Thai might be the most “Instagrammable” restaurant on our list. While the decor is absolutely beautiful, the food is presented just as nicely, and is delicious. Try their Fish Cake for an appetizer and the Pla Yum Mango Crispy Tilapia. Sisters Thai also owns Magnolia Dessert Bar, which is located inside their restaurant. No visit to Sisters is complete without stopping by to try their Original Honey Toast. Of course, you can also order it from your dining table in Sisters.

With two locations within the Washington, D.C., Beltway, both locations of Bangkok Garden are in Maryland. They are conveniently located in Rockville and Bethesda. Featuring “Thai Street Eats”, Bangkok Garden is authentic and delicious Thai food in the Washington, D.C. area. A casual dining experience, Bangkok has colorful wall art to make the dining experience reminiscent of receiving food from street vendors in Thailand. Try the Moo Yang for an appetizer and grab the Khao Soy Curry dish for your entree. Their Rockville location is directly on Rockville Pike. Make a day of your dining experience and explore some of the other fun shops and restaurants while you are in the area.

Dok Khao is a delicious Thai Restaurant in Northern Virginia, and many Washingtonians would not hesitate to head to Woodbridge to score some of the best Thai in the area. All dishes are made to order at this street food inspired restaurant. With the emphasis on their authentic Thai cuisine, the dining experience is casual and the service is excellent. Try the Crispy Salmon Roll for your appetizer and share a couple of entrees. We recommend the Crabmeat Fried Rice and the Yentafo. Dok Kaho not only has delicious menu items, they also have fun with their cocktails. Not afraid to experiment with both ingredients and cocktail names, the Quarantine and Chill has been a fan favorite, for obvious reasons.

Located in Dupont Circle, all you have to do is to walk into Thai Chef Street Food to see that you have found a special restaurant. The vibe at Thai Chef is casual and fun, and the food almost as authentic as you can get in the D.C. area. This gem of a restaurant is Woman owned, by a dynamic mother and daughter duo. They specialize in Bangkok street vendor inspired fare. You absolutely should try the Sticky Tofu as an appetizer and the Pad Thai. Thai Chef Street Food has recently reopened for dine in, and Washingtonians couldn’t be happier! They continue their carryout orders in heavy volume, and remain popular for their to go cocktail options.

Located close to Mt. Vernon Triangle, Baan Siam is a Thai restaurant featuring harder to find, authentic Thai dishes. The menu at Baan Siam is wonderful, and is meant to be served as created. Please know, there are some dishes where substitutions can be made with tofu. Many of the dishes are made with fish oil,and cannot be made entirely vegetarian. When visiting Baan Siam, we implore you to try some of the more unique dishes, including the Fried Cornish Hen and the Pork Curry with Dandelion leaves. Previously known as Baan Thai located on 14th Street, Baan Siam relocated to the Mt. Vernon area to expand. Many Baan Thai fans remained loyal to Baan Siam and Chef Jeeraporn “P Boom” when they relocated. Chef “P Boom” grew up in Thailand learning from her Mother and Grandmother. When planning your trip to Baan Siam, please know they are closed on Mondays.
Little Serow

Located in Dupont Circle, Little Serow is a must try Thai Restaurant in the Washington, D.C. area. Little Serow is a restaurant that is unique in decor, and described as intimate, dark, and cavelike. However, they are currently offering carryout only. Featuring cuisine from Northern Thailand, this restaurant is as delicious as it is authentic. Little Serow offers dinner for two at home, and they have food and drink pairings available as well. Our favorite dish? The Tam Khanun – The Jackfruit and Pork Salad! Little Serow is currently carryout only. They also offer curbside pickup. All orders are made fresh to order, so ensuring you give yourself at least an hour for pickup is suggested. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Thai X-ing, pronounced Thai Crossing, is a Thai Restaurant located in the U-Street area of Washington, D.C. The decor at Thai X-ing is eclectic, and the ambiance intimate. Chef Taw Vigsittaboot has designed the menu with authentic Thai recipes from his Mother, Grandmother, and Aunt. Their Curry Entrees are worth checking out, as well as some of the more unique dishes, including the Five Spice Duck. There are also plenty of vegetarian options available. Reservations are accepted, and can be made via email. They also offer takeout and no contact delivery as an option. The U-Street area is a vibrant one in Washington, D.C., so it is suggested dining in and then exploring everything this area of Washington, D.C. has to offer.
