But after a long day of experiencing the sights and attractions of El Paso, you probably want to settle down somewhere to eat. And when people think of Texas cuisine, one of the first things that come to mind is a delicious, juicy steak. So it should come as no surprise that this city is home to some of the top steak restaurants in the country.

The decadent meals at this steakhouse aren’t cheap, but they’re worth every penny. Ruth’s Chris Steak House is a three-minute drive away from The Fountains at Farah, making it a great place to settle down after a long day of shopping. 

This restaurant has an upscale atmosphere, so you will want to dress formally when you visit. And don’t show up on a whim — remember to make your reservation beforehand! 

Ruth’s Chris Steak House offers steaks, seafood, and plenty of meals for those with dietary restrictions, including gluten-free and vegetarian options! If you’re looking for a romantic dinner, I recommend trying their “Tenderloin & Tails For Two.” 


Corralito Steak House

Corralito has four different locations in El Paso, but the one we’re discussing here is on Doniphan Drive. It’s between two notable state parks — Westgreen Park and Montoya Heights — making it a great place to settle down after a day on the trail. 

This upscale restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. If you’re looking for a hearty steak dinner, you can choose between a huge variety of hand-cut steaks with plenty of different sides. And if you or someone in your travel group isn’t in the mood for steak, they also offer salads, Mexican dishes, and even a few vegan options! 


Great American Steakburger

This laidback, family-friendly steakhouse has been serving its iconic steakburgers since 1977. It’s a block away from the Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park, so it’s the perfect place to settle down and enjoy a burger after a day of family fun. 

When you dine at Great American Steakburger, I suggest trying one of their Great American Platters — particularly the Filet & Shrimp Combination Platter. Not only will you enjoy their delicious, all-American beef and freshly cooked seafood, but you’ll get plenty of sides to go with it. And as their name suggests, they offer plenty of other Texas-style entrees, including steakburgers. 


West Texas Chophouse

As you make your way down Viscount Boulevard and reach Airway, West Texas Chophouse will be one of the first buildings you see. While it is possible to walk in on a whim, I recommend making a reservation before dining at this upscale restaurant. 

Be sure to visit this steakhouse with some friends! If you stop by for their happy hour, you can get excellent deals on their craft pints, martinis, margaritas, or wines. If you’re in the mood for some Tex-Mex, I recommend their Chophouse Nachos. Or, if you’re dining with a big group, you may want to try the West Texas Feast. 


Cattlemen’s Steakhouse

When you visit this steakhouse at Indian Cliffs Ranch, you’re not just in for a delicious meal but a fun and vintage Texan atmosphere as well. It’s about thirty-five minutes from downtown El Paso, so you may have to go a little out of your way to get here, but it will be worth the effort — and you can enjoy a stunning view of the desert once you’re there. 

There are plenty of dishes to choose from at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse. Kebabs, seafood, and ribs are just a few of the things they offer. If you’re in the mood for something big and hearty, you could try out The Cowboy — it’s a 2-pound porterhouse steak served with an array of southwestern sides.

This steakhouse is just down the street from the Radisson Hotel El Paso Airport, so if you’re visiting from out of state, this can be the first place you dine! With its trendy atmosphere and wide selection of dishes, it’s hard not to feel comfortable here. 

Veggie-lovers will enjoy their massive salad bar. You can also choose from a variety of appetizers like potato skins or sauteed mushrooms. Enjoy a steak cooked to your preference, and choose between toppings such as mushrooms or jalapenos. If you stop by between 3 and 5 PM from Monday to Thursday, you can also enjoy their sunset menu deals.

Saltgrass Steak House is right next to Comfort Suites El Paso West. So if you’re visiting from out of town and staying at this cozy hotel, you’ll have an easy time getting here. And if dining in isn’t your thing, you can opt for takeout and bring it back to your hotel room. 

You can enjoy a light or heavy meal at this casual eatery. Dine on appetizers such as shrimp cocktails, or enjoy one of their many salads and the soup of the day. And if you want the full Texan steakhouse experience, you’ll want to order their 17-ounce Texas T-Bone Steak. 


Borderland Steakhouse

As you come to the intersection of Mountain Plaza and Alabama Street, you’ll have an easy time finding Borderland Steakhouse. This modern yet cozy steakhouse has a beautiful atmosphere, so whether you’re an El Paso native or visiting for the weekend, you’ll want to stop and enjoy a meal here. 

If you’re in the mood for some Tex-Mex, you can choose between plenty of delicious appetizers and entrees, including tortilla soup and fajitas. Their steaks and burgers are simply amazing, too — if you’ve got the appetite for it, you should try their 16-ounce ribeye steak. Finish it off with one of their desserts (I recommend Grandma’s Carrot Cake) for a meal to remember.

Once you visit this upscale steakhouse, you’ll surely want to come back again. As the name suggests, this restaurant is right by the Texas-New Mexico border, so anyone taking a trip through the southwest should try to make a stop here. 

Choose from a wide selection of Tex-Mex and classic steakhouse favorites. With dishes such as filet mignon, chicken enchiladas, and shaved prime rib, there’s something for even the most finicky taste buds. Their tortilla soup is notably popular, so be sure to give that a try as well. And their marbled ribeye steak is simply delicious, especially when you pair it with some fried scampi!

This upscale restaurant is just a short drive away from the El Paso Museum of Art, making it a great place to relax after a long day of experiencing some stunning artwork. Although they offer cocktails and other spirits, this restaurant has an overall family-friendly atmosphere. 

Choose between a wide variety of steak options, including prime pork tomahawk and wagyu ribeye. Or if you prefer seafood over red meat, there is plenty of that to choose from as well — I recommend their Black Pepper Tuna. Finish off your meal with their homemade apple cobbler for a genuinely American dining experience.
