Where to Get Delicious Pizza in Dallas

Pizza places in the area that we think you’re going to love.

Dallas is the second-largest metropolis in Texas behind Houston and is known for its white-collar demographic, clean streets, and highly successful pro sports empire. Dallas is a great place to live and raise a family, but there are plenty of attractions to explore.

Basketball lovers can head to a Dallas Mavericks game, football enthusiasts can head to a Dallas Cowboys game, and baseball fans can watch the Texas Rangers play. Art lovers can explore Dallas’ enormous art district. Conspiracy theorists can investigate Kennedy’s assassination at the Sixth Floor Museum. Families can head to the Texas state fair, a national attraction since the 19th century.

With four locations in Dallas and two in the surrounding suburbs of Fort Worth and Arlington, Cane Rosso is a Neapolitan-style pizzeria, wine, and cocktail bar in large, hip yet casual spaces, each with a giant wood-fired oven as the centerpiece. Owner Jay Jerrier spent years studying the art of Neapolitan pizza from the top authorities, the AVPN Neapolitan Pizza Association.

Cane Rosso serves a wide variety of cocktails, wines, small plates, salads, pasta, and sandwiches in addition to wood-fired pizzas. I would start with the fried artichokes with parmesan, bread crumbs, and Calabrian chili aioli. Their inventive pizzas use house-made dough and imported San Marzano tomatoes. Try the Johnny Utah, with meatballs, provolone, roasted peppers and onions, tomato sauce, and smoked mozzarella.

Eno’s Pizza Tavern

In addition to food, Eno’s is an artisanal craft beer tavern with a rotating seasonal menu featuring local, domestic, and imported beers, with 15 beers on tap from local and national microbreweries.

Enjoy a brew with lunch or dinner at Eno’s. They have a great lunch special with soup and a two-topping personal pizza for under $10. Their pizzas are gourmet and full of local vegetables. I recommend the Heirloom Spinach white pie with an Alfredo sauce base, ricotta, spinach, red onions, garlic, mushrooms, and truffle oil.

Zoli’s NY Pizza

Located in the Addison neighborhood close to Dallas College and the Dallas Galleria, Zoli’s NY Pizza is a collaboration between three pizza greats: Jay Jerrier, the owner of Cane Rosso, world pizza champion Lee Hunzinger, and Chef Jeff Bekavac. With decades of experience in pizza making between the trio, you can expect award-winning NY-style pizza in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.

The thin, crispy crust with a chewy and tender end characteristic of NY-style pizza is perfectly executed at Zoli’s, and they offer large round, and square-shaped pies. I recommend the Honey Bastard with mozzarella, hot soppressata, bacon marmalade, and habanero honey.

Fireside Pies

7709 Inwood Rd, Dallas, TX 75209

Fireside Pies is an upscale, wood-fired Italian eatery, cocktail bar, and pizzeria located in the Greenway Parks neighborhood, a short drive from the Dallas Love Field airport. They also have locations in five other DFW neighborhoods, each with a distinct décor and personality to suit the demographic of the neighborhood in which it lies.

Fireside Pies uses wood-fired ovens to create artisanal pizzas and rustic Italian dishes. Their pizzas have large crusts with light, airy insides, and thin crispy bases, which is a unique take on Neapolitan. I recommend the Balsamic Chicken pizza with balsamic glazed chicken, ragu, spinach, roasted crimini mushrooms, mozzarella, and parmesan.

Olivella’s

Visit Website

Olivella’s is an authentic traditional Italian restaurant and pizzeria with locations across from SMU, in the fancy Lakewood neighborhood, and Fort Worth. They specialize in Neapolitan and Roman-style pizza, describing each as thin and super thin, respectively. USA Today voted Olivella’s the best pizza in Texas, and the Dallas Observer has voted them the best pizza in Dallas three years in a row.

Olivella’s has onsite wine cellars with dozens of imported wines to enjoy by the glass or bottle. I recommend starting with traditional antipasti like house-made meatballs and mozzarella or pesto, goat cheese focaccia with sun dried tomatoes. As for pizza, I recommend the Al Gorgonzola with house-made mozzarella, gorgonzola, pears, and walnuts.

Serious Pizza

Located in the heart of the iconic Deep Ellum neighborhood, Serious Pizza is a hip and quirky pizza joint, serving Texas-sized slices and pies. A single slice is the size of three normal slices, and a large pie is 30” around, so you’re in for a serious pizza commitment.

The pizza sizes at Serious Pizza are large, extra-large, and seriously large, so bring a group of friends and your appetite. I recommend the white Philly pizza with roasted garlic alfredo, shaved ribeye, roasted peppers, and onions, and the BBQ Chick with barbeque sauce, shredded roasted chicken, red onion, sharp cheddar, cilantro, and bacon.

Pie Tap Pizza Workshop

Pie Tap Pizza Workshop is a contemporary brewpub and Italian Pizzeria and eatery with locations in Henderson, the Design District, Addison, and Plano. They have over 35 beers on tap plus an extensive wine and cocktail selection. Their dough undergoes a 96-hour aging and fermentation process, creating a perfectly bubbly texture and unique flavor.

Although head chef and owner Giovanni Mauro is Sicilian, Pie Tap Pizza’s pies are Neapolitan-style. I recommend the Prosciutto pizza with prosciutto di Parma, medjool dates, pistachio, arugula, ricotta, parmesan, and a balsamic drizzle.

Cavalli Pizza

As with any authentic Neapolitan pizza establishment, their food is VPN-certified.

They offer pizza for dinner and dessert at Cavalli Pizza. I recommend the Diavola 12 with mozzarella, San Marzano tomato sauce, sweet roasted peppers, homemade sausage, sliced jalapenos, basil, and olive oil. If you save room for dessert, try the Almont Joy pizza with chocolate hazelnut spread, coconut, and almonds.

Mimi’s Pizzeria

Located in University Park, Mimi’s Pizzeria is a neighborhood pizzeria, serving New York-style thin-crust pizza by the slice, thick, square, deep-dish Sicilian pizzas, hero sandwiches, and other Italian American favorites. Their open kitchen allows you to watch your pizzas being crafted in front of you.

I’m a fan of the deep-dish, dense Sicilian pizzas, so I recommend the plain cheese Sicilian pie. For thin-crust lovers, I recommend the UP Pie with spinach, meatballs, and ricotta. They also have delicious hot subs like veal and eggplant parmigiana or meatball sub.

The interior of the restaurant is elegant and classy, with a giant colorfully tiled wood-fired oven as the piece de resistance.

Partenope Ristorante offers a curated wine list of imported Italian wines, a full cocktail menu, and local micro-brewed beer on tap. Their menu includes delicious antipasti like fried polenta with imported ham and Calabrian aioli, as well as sandwiches, salads, and house-made pasta. I recommend the Napoli Centrale pizza with mozzarella, ricotta, Bolognese sauce, sausage, basil, and prosciutto.

Cadillac Pizza Pub’s extensive menu has baked pasta, hot sandwiches, salads, and appetizers in addition to some spectacular wood-fired pizza. The specialty pizzas offer a great mix of classic Neapolitan and innovative Texas flavors. Take, for instance, the Chicken Bacon Boom Boom with 3RG secret sauce, roasted chicken, bacon, cheddar, gorgonzola, caramelized onions, ranch, and cilantro.

Bay34th Street Pizzeria

13605 Midway Rd #170, Farmers Branch, TX 75244
Phone: 214-774-9469

Owned and operated by father and son duo Asip and Gezim Asani, Bay34th Street Pizzeria is a New York-style pizzeria located in the Inwood neighborhood. The small, welcoming local is a great place to dine in or take a calzone and a slice to go. The open kitchen has a marble bar display case with a variety of freshly baked pies, calzones, and cannoli, just like a typical Brooklyn pizza spot.

The menu features calzones, Stromboli, chicken dishes, pasta, hot sandwiches, and wings in addition to their show-stopping pizza. Their baked ziti is excellent, but if you’re looking for a great specialty pie, I recommend the eggplant parm pie with oven-baked eggplant, basil, olive oil, tomato sauce, and mozzarella cheese.

Delucca Gaucho Pizza & Wine

1628 Oak Lawn Ave Ste 100, Dallas, TX 75207
Phone: 214-774-9903

Located in Dallas’ Design District Delucca Gaucho Pizza & Wine is an elegant, high-end restaurant, serving wood-fired pizzas and craft cocktails in a beautifully designed dining room. The dining room has marble fireplaces, a wrap-around marble bar, black leather seating, and black and white tiled flooring. Smooth Bossa nova music and dim lighting set the mood for an intimate dinner at Delucca.

Unlike the rest of the pizzerias on my list, Delucca has a set menu for a multi-course meal, starting with house-made Kobe meatballs and lobster bisque, then “gauchos” or servers will circulate with numerous different pizzas, offering you slice after slice until you indicate you are full.

Pizza Leila

2001 Ross Ave, Dallas, TX 75201
Phone: 214-484-1395
Visit Website

Pizza Leila is a Sicilian pizzeria located in downtown Dallas’s high-end American Bistro, Sloan’s Corner. You can dine on the beautiful outdoor patio or grab a large square slice to go for lunch or dinner. Sicilian pizza has a square shape, dense yet chewy deep-dish crust, and ample char.

Traditionally, Sicilian has few toppings, if any, but Pizza Leila breaks the tradition with some amazing specialty Sicilian offerings. Still, I recommend the classic Grandma’s Square with fresh mozzarella, roasted tomato sauce, and fresh basil. If you want to spice things up, try the Vodka Sausage and Peppers pizza with vodka cream sauce, Italian sausage, and yellow peppers.

Greenville Avenue Pizza Company

Named for the original Lowest Greenville location, Greenville Avenue Pizza Company has since opened a second location in East Dallas, serving scratch-made thin-crust pizzas and award-winning wings. Greenville’s trendy, yet old-school pizzeria atmosphere and unique fusion pies that draw from a panoply of flavors from around the U.S have won over the hearts of locals and tourists alike.

In addition to their pizza and wings, Greenville Avenue Pizza Company has great sandwiches, pasta, and appetizers. Their Mexican Pizza is spectacular, with hamburger, poblano peppers, red onions, Roma tomatoes, jalapenos, cilantro, and cheddar.

Zalat Pizza

With 15 locations in the DFW and Plano metropolis, Zalat Pizza is a delivery and take-out pizzeria, serving a wide variety of beautifully presented pies. Many of the pizzas have multiple sauces applied in colorful swirls. Unlike conventional fast-food pizza establishments, the specialty pizzas at Zalat Pizza are as gourmet and exotic as most of the dine-in restaurants on my list.

Zalat Pizza has a lot of Pan-Asian flavors worth trying. Take, for example, the Pho Shizzle pizza with chicken, red bell peppers, caramelized onions, hoisin, and sriracha swirl, topped with basil and cilantro garnish. I tried a pizza with southern flair known as the Nashville Hot Chicken and Pickles, with crunchy pickles slathered with sweet and spicy Nashville Hot sauce, sriracha, chicken, and red onions.
