Nicknamed “Sun City” for its whopping 302 days of sunshine a year, El Paso is a thriving Texas border town known for its legendary boot-making and its rich cowboy history. It is also an up-and-comer on the food scene with incredible restaurants offering all kinds of different cuisines and dining experiences.
Personally, there’s nothing I love more than a good brunch spot—especially when I’m on vacation. With that in mind, on my most recent trip to El Paso, I scoured the area looking for an amazing El Paso brunch spot to write about. Luckily, I found nine!

Ripe Eatery is owned by two families, each with ties to the local Franklin and Coronado High Schools. It’s a family-friendly spot, and its employees pride themselves on serving high-quality food and providing impeccable service to the patrons they treat as members of their own families.
Ripe Eatery believes strongly in building environmentally friendly practices into their business and supports local farmers and growers. Their chicken and produce are fresh and delivered to the restaurant daily as well, while the ground beef is 100% grass-fed.
They offer a full day’s worth of meal selections, but the brunch menu is where they shine. From savory omelets and benedicts to made-from-scratch buttermilk pancakes, they have it all. My personal favorite was the Blueberry-Ricotta pancakes, which came stuffed with blueberries and were topped with house-made ricotta and blueberry sauce.

At Block Table & Tap, you will find yourself enjoying rustic dishes that feed the soul in a cozy environment that feels like you never left home. Located a few blocks from Mission Hills Park, Block Table & Tap serves up hand-crafted cocktails, craft beer, and wine in addition to their delectable brunch selections.
Brunch at Block Table & Tap includes a variety of signature brunch beverages like mimosas and bloody marys, as well as a host of savory small plates like Brioche Avocado Toast or Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos. Their Big Plates & Bowls are where the fun is. From chilaquiles and huevos rancheros to a good ole fashioned fried chicken and waffle, there is something here for every taste to enjoy.

Just past Sunland Park Mall sits D’Lox, a perfect spot for Sunday brunch in El Paso with friends or family. This restaurant is open seven days a week and serves breakfast and lunch Monday thru Saturday.
The brunch menu features an entire Tex-Mex inspired section, with dishes like enfrijoladas, migas, huevos rancheros, and Alameda. All of these border dishes come with D’Lox’s famous chorizo potatoes and a flour tortilla.
For more traditional brunch fare, they offer diet-friendly options like an egg white and veggie omelet, a lox bagel made with cold-smoked Alaskan king salmon, or a breakfast wrap served in a warm spinach tortilla.

Crave Kitchen and Bar prides itself on being a place for casual fine dining. It is a small chain with multiple locations spread across El Paso, each with a comfortable, trendy vibe that makes for the best brunch spots. They serve up a variety of comfort foods and have an extensive brunch menu.
Those that like a lot of sweetness with their brunch will love the strawberry stuffed french toast or the churro waffle served up with cinnamon ice cream. There are a variety of egg scrambles for more traditional breakfast lovers, as well as desserts, salads, and sandwiches, including breakfast sandwiches like the Bacon Waffle Sandwich.
They don’t serve alcohol at Crave Kitchen and Bar; however, they have a refreshing selection of drinks including cucumber mint agua fresca, Nutella hot chocolate, and rosemary-watermelon agua fresca.
L & J Cafe

If you’re wondering where to brunch in El Paso, L & J Cafe is a colorful, one-of-a-kind spot that has been around since 1927. It was originally considered to be located on the outskirts of town, but city sprawl has since made its location central. They have won countless local awards for their specialty appetizers, homemade soups, and mouthwatering enchiladas. They are also known for serving hefty portions, so come hungry.
Authentic Mexican food is on the menu at L & J Cafe, even for brunch. You can’t go wrong with a bowl of their spicy chicken tortilla soup or any of their specialty plates like Tampiquena, Pollo en Salsa Española, or Caldillo, a hearty beef stew topped with cilantro. Enchiladas are the real stars, however. I recommend trying the Mole Enchiladas, which come smothered in their homemade mole sauce.

The Good Luck Cafe, in Mission Valley, is run by the Puentes family and has been since its early days as a tavern in the early 1960s. Now run by Mrs. Elvira Puentes and her children, this successful restaurant offers an extensive mix of traditional American breakfast and lunch options alongside authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex food for affordable prices.
You could come for the standard brunch fare, like eggs, bacon, and toast. If you do, you’ll be sure to get a stellar meal. However, the real stars of the Good Luck Cafe’s menu are the Tex-Mex dishes. Don’t sleep on the Carne Molida tacos or the Chile Relleno burrito. The Huevos Rancheros and the Chile con Carne Plate are both excellent options you’ll dream about for weeks afterward.
Salt + Honey Bakery Café

North of Memorial Park, Salt + Honey is a wonderful weekend brunch spot that serves up breakfast, brunch, and lunch all day long.
Their signature brunch board is a great way to sample a variety of pastries, fruit, and breakfast meats with a partner. If you’re in the mood for less traditional brunch fare, you could try the Tacos Borrachos or The Salty Sailor, a delicious beer-battered cod with pineapple coleslaw and a side of fries.
Their brunch sandwich options are also delicious. The Brisket Torta is a particularly spectacular dish, featuring braised brisket, cilantro-lime crema, pickled red onion, avocado, tomato, and arugula on a locally made bolillo. The Black Friday tastes like they sandwiched Thanksgiving between two pieces of brioche.
Savage Goods

Located in Sunsight Heights not far from downtown El Paso, Savage Goods is a welcoming spot to enjoy a weekend brunch. The restaurant is owned by the Savage family and began in 2013 as a little roadside farmer’s market stand where they sold homemade bakery items. It has been a working restaurant since December of 2017 beloved by the local community.
They offer a plethora of plant-based menu items, which is great if you’re vegan or vegetarian. The Savage Scramble Burrito in particular is a lovely plant-based option, featuring tofu, potatoes, onions, and vegan cheese. In addition, they serve up a filling buttery biscuit that comes with house jam, as well as an interesting dish called Sweets & Beets, which comes with two over-easy eggs, chimichurri, roasted beets, crispy potatoes, and caramelized onions.

If you are jonesing for an after-hours breakfast in West-Central El Paso, this is another great option. Piedmont serves up all-day breakfast and a mean cup of coffee. They were established in 2019 at their location in Ridgecrest, which features open veranda seating as well as a full bar and stylish indoor seating.
If you’re getting brunch at Piedmont Cafe, you must try the Italian Toast, which is essentially just a rich dessert made with focaccia bread. The Loaded Biscuits are also a must-try if you like fluffy homemade biscuits served up with bacon bits and gochugaru gravy.
For more Tex-Mex inspired breakfast dishes, Piedmont serves up an excellent Cowboy Omelet that can be customized with Impossible meat, as well as Migas, and Chihuamelet, an omelet made with asadero, guajillo sauce, and green chili.
Final Thoughts
El Paso is a great place to visit, and it’s also a great place to eat. The best brunch in El Paso can be found at high-quality, one-of-a-kind dining establishments that provide a unique mix of traditional brunch dishes with Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican food.
