The Korean BBQ restaurants are a must when you come to St. Louis, and you can enjoy everything from spicy pork bowls to BBQ sandwiches.

Everest Cafe & Bar is a cozy little restaurant in St. Louis’s Forest Park Southeast district. It’s a south Asian restaurant with a welcoming feel, and you’ll find some of the best Korean BBQ dishes in the area on the unassuming menu.

The cuisine draws inspiration from Korea, Nepal, and India. Everest Cafe & Bar’s owners are proud to own a family-run business, and you’ll feel right at home in the relaxed dining area.

I recommend Korean dumplings, which have tender pulled pork and spicy kimchi. The bulgogi rice bowl is also fantastic, and it has Korean BBQ marinade over your choice of meat and rice.

Try a sweet and spicy pork taco plate with spicy sauce or a mild brunch burrito. Kalbi has a BBQ plate for you if you’re vegan or vegetarian.

Kimchi Guys is great for a quick bite, and the spot is popular with tourists. Order a meal kit to take to your house or hotel, or dine onsite at the counter-serve space.

The BBQ meat bowl is one of my favorite dishes, and the spicy cabbage kimchi is delicious. I also like the Korean BBQ taco combo with cilantro mayo and your choice of protein.

O! Wing Plus is an Asian restaurant that specializes in fried chicken. It’s on Page Ave in the Overland area, and the location is convenient for anyone staying in the northwest part of the city.

The restaurant has been a St. Louis institution for over a decade, with Steven and Heidy Song presiding over the kitchen.

They make more than just chicken wings. The best menu items include Korean BBQ wings, spicy tacos, and noodle bowls.

I recommend a Korean BBQ Philly sandwich with onions, green peppers, and decadent provolone cheese. The bulgogi wrap is another favorite, especially with parmesan sauce.

The spot is inside Castillons Arcade Plaza, in the Parkway area. It’s popular with locals and gets busy fast, so I recommend booking a table in advance.

I suggest the beef and pork combo plate with a side of rice, steamed egg, and spicy hot tofu. Also, try the all-you-can-eat spicy pork belly with seafood pancakes, soybean paste, and soup, and pair your meal with a Korean soda.

I recommend starting with fried sweet potato noodles or steamed pork dumplings with vegetables. Try the vegetable pancakes with octopus, egg, and scallions for a more traditional appetizer.

On select days, the restaurant features lunch specials like Kimchi Jigae with pork and fish, and on regular days you can order a spicy Udon noodle soup with beef.

BOBQ is next to many of St. Louis’s best tourist attractions, including the St. Louis Zoo, Forest Park, and the city’s art museum. I like to stroll the winding park trails after a hearty Korean comfort meal at BOBQ.

The sweet and spicy tofu bowl is my favorite. Also, consider the BOBQ combo, which comes with a drink and two potstickers.

You can choose from bowls like garlic-soy tofu, spicy chicken, and beef bulgogi, and ask the staff to add a poached egg to top your meal off.

Joo Joo Restaurant & Karaoke

Bring some fun to your trip and visit Joo Joo Restaurant & Karaoke, a Korean restaurant where you can rent private karaoke rooms.

The cuisine is traditional Korean, but it focuses on BBQ plates. Everything on the menu is MSG-free, and the chefs use light and fresh ingredients.

I recommend booking a karaoke room for a few hours and ordering a table full of appetizers. Check out the Budae hot pot with sausage, ham, and vegetables.

It’s a Korean classic with spicy beef broth. The BBQ short ribs are another one of my favorites, and they have a traditional sauce marinade.

For authentic Korean street food, try K-Bop STL. It’s family-owned and operated, and the place has a welcoming, relaxed vibe.

The restaurant is off Fee Fee road, near the Fernwood area, and they also have a food truck that travels throughout St. Louis. Check the website to see if the food truck will be near you soon!

K-Bop STL specializes in Korean rice bowls, and I recommend the succulent BBQ beef bowl with a sweet and savory sauce or the grilled teriyaki chicken bowl with spicy sauce.

Try a side of Mandu, Korean potstickers, and order a cold canned drink like the Sweet Rice Punch.

The restaurant is fun and interactive, and you will enjoy cooking your meats over a small table grill. I recommend ordering a wide variety of vegetables and meats to get the whole experience at Seoul Garden.

Try the sweet steamed pork, marinated steak, and beef brisket. The pork belly is also a delicious choice and is juicy and mouth-watering after a few minutes on the grill.

Shaking Bowl is a homey restaurant with a laid-back vibe. It draws from Korean and Japanese cuisine, and the restaurant is in Oakville in the southern area of St. Louis.

It’s just a few streets from the Mississippi River, and you can go hiking in Cliff Cave park before settling down at this cozy eatery.

Try a spicy fire bowl with chicken, cucumber, and red cabbage. Also, I recommend the Jaeyook bowl, a BBQ option with spicy pork slices and mung bean sprouts.

You can’t miss the famous egg rolls at Shaking Bowl, and you can choose from chicken, veggie, and pork.
