Greek cuisine has long traditions dating back to the ancient era, and while many influences have impacted Greek food, some of the staples have remained to the present day.

In Seattle, a beautiful city surrounded by greenery, Pike’s Place Market provides produce, meats, fish, and artisan products from around Washington.

Check out this list of the best Greek restaurants in Seattle I compiled on a recent trip to the city.

The Golden Olive

521 Queen Anne Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109
Phone: 206-216-4674
Visit Website

The Golden Olive shares the Queen Anne neighborhood with Seattle Center with many attractions like the iconic Space Needle.

After a day of touring, the Golden Olive was a great casual place to grab a bite to eat. Order food at the counter, then head to one of the restaurant’s cozy booths to enjoy your meal.

While the Golden Olive does specialize in shawarma, grilled marinated meat, there are vegetarian options on the menu too.

They have wraps if you need to eat on the go, but if you plan to visit this family-owned restaurant, I recommend getting one of their plates.

Each plate comes with warm pita bread, a greek salad, creamy hummus, and seasoned rice.

Georgia’s Greek Restaurant Food Truck Market & Deli

8007 Lake City Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115
Phone: 206-783-1228
Visit Website

Georgia’s Greek Restaurant on Lake City Way is a few blocks from Maple Leaf Reservoir Park. This isn’t the only spot for tasty Greek food from Georgia’s.

They operate a food truck around the city! The restaurant is worth stopping by. Bright yellow walls create a homey feeling.

Traditional Greek dishes of all kinds are served here. My favorite was the small plates. It’s a great way to try a little bit of everything from falafel to octopus.

Just remember to save room for dessert! Georgia’s serves Flogera, a delicious dish with walnuts rolled in honey-soaked filo dough.

Gorgeous George’s

7719 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103
Phone: 206-783-0116
Visit Website

Gorgeous George’s in the Greenwood neighborhood shares the area with homes and many interesting small businesses.

This restaurant is cozy with brick accents and fresh flowers on the table, creating a romantic atmosphere at Gorgeous George’s. The brightly colored accent walls also bring a bit of fun to the place.

While other establishments making up the best Greek restaurant in Seattle focus on fast and fresh dishes, Gorgeous George’s is a little more upscale.

The kitchen prepares fine cuts of meat like filet mignon and lamb ribs. For a little taste of everything, I ordered George’s Combo Platter with kafta kabob, shish kabob, and shish tawook.

Mr. D’s Greek Delicacies

1518 Pike Pl, Seattle, WA 98101
Phone: 206-622-4881
Visit Website

Find Mr. D’s Greek Delicacies in Downtown Seattle in the thriving Pike Place Market. While there are dozens of places to eat in this area, Mr. D’s stands out for its traditional blue and white-colored counter at the market.

This forty-year-old establishment makes a great spot to grab a snack before exploring the area.

Mr. D’s serves Greek favorites like pastries and yeeros, slightly different from gyros adding fried potatoes to the mix of meat, tomatoes, lettuce, and tzatziki.

At Mr. D’s, the fried potatoes come in the form of french fries, blending an American favorite with a classic Greek sandwich.

Mykonos Greek Grill

310 NE 72nd St, Seattle, WA 98115
Phone: 206-523-8929
Visit Website

Mykonos Greek Grill is a short walk from Green Lake Park, one of Seattle’s best city parks. This is a laid-back spot to enjoy traditional Greek food.

If there are tables available, I recommend sitting outside to view the beautiful park across the way. One of the best parts of Greek cuisine is all of the tasty dips they serve.

Mykonos offers a great way to try a few dips with their dip sampler. My favorite from this group was the skordalia, a potato spread with garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice.

The other standout was the delicious combination of lamb and beef in the classic gyro.

Lola

2000 4th Ave, Seattle, WA 98121
Visit Website

A few blocks to the northeast of Pike’s Place Market, one of the best Greek restaurants in Seattle, Lola has lots of contemporary style paired with a warm color scheme that still makes it feel homey and welcoming.

This spot was named for one of the owner’s grandmothers, but they updated the family recipes for a fresh take on Greek food. There are various Greek items to enjoy, but at Lola, I particularly enjoyed the sides.

The grilled asparagus topped with tart pomegranate molasses paired excellently with the crunchy almonds and salty feta.

Dessert was impressive, too, especially the made-to-order doughnuts served with vanilla mascarpone.

Yanni’s Greek Restaurant

7419 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103
Phone: 206-783-6945

Yanni’s Greek Restaurant’s blue and white building sits among many other great places to eat on Seattle’s Greenwood Avenue. The primarily residential area sits west of Green Lake in Phinney Ridge.

Yanni’s has a casual and fun vibe with fun decor and an eye-catching diorama of some of Greece’s most well-known architecture on their back wall.

When visiting this restaurant, it’s important to know that Yanni’s does take out only most days of the week.

Stop by on the weekend to get the whole dine-in experience. Whether you’re getting it to go or not, Yanni’s has some great Greek food worth trying.

My favorite from here was the Chicken Yannis, a grilled chicken breast marinated in lemon with toasted almonds and feta cheese.

Niko’s Gyros Beacon Hill

1636 S McClellan St, Seattle, WA 98144
Phone: 206-397-4986

In South Seattle, Niko’s Gyros serves a small selection of Greek classics. The interior has a minimalist modern feel, making Niko’s an excellent place for a fast-casual meal.

On the outside, the restaurant is appealing with lots of big windows and an overall charming look. Niko’s does great simple Greek food in four styles, traditional pita-wrapped gyros, salads, skewers, or bowls.

I opted for the salmon gyro bowl, a delicious combination of grilled vegetables and rice topped with feta and yogurt sauce. The ingredients blended perfectly, making each bite as satisfying as the last.

OMEGA OUZERI

1529 14th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122
Phone: 206-257-4515
Visit Website

OMEGA OUZERI is in the trendy Capitol Hill area of Seattle. This part of town is full of exciting places to eat and drink, but what sets this restaurant apart is its large, bright dining room.

OMEGA has a fancy but fun vibe, helping it fit right in with the rest of the neighborhood. Greek food is generally lovely to look at; it’s usually topped with bright herbs and shiny with olive oil.

At OMEGA OUZERI, the food out does the others. The food here will impress even before tasting it.

For a beautiful and tasty dish, try the whole grilled sea bass. It makes a statement, and the cooking style keeps the fish moist and flavorful.
