7 San Francisco Food Trucks to Try This Weekend

San Francisco, California is a hotspot for visitors from all over. The wine tours are a relaxing getaway, and Alcatraz Island is a thrilling, educational experience.

The sights aren’t the only quick thrill in San Fran — the food trucks in this city are a fast-paced and delicious dining experience.

A time pinch shouldn’t mean you have to sacrifice food quality and the dining experience. Check out my list of the best food trucks in San Francisco.

The Chairman

According to San Francisco Magazine, The Chairman is the best food truck in San Francisco. That’s a pretty big claim, so I had high expectations, and this location did not disappoint.

The Chairman is an Asian Fusion food truck that carries a delicious variety of bao, a fluffy, steamed bun. My order of choice is the Miso Cured Tofu and the Wonton Chips.

Another unique dish I recommend is the Coca-Cola Braised Pork for a perfect balance between sweet, savory, and umami. The Chairman’s Little Red Cookbook is full of delicious secrets, and I can’t wait to try more!

Curry Up Now

659 Valencia St, San Francisco, CA 94110
Phone: 415-903-8700

Curry Up Now offers Indian Street Food and has a creative, delicious approach to traditional dishes. The Tikka Masala Burrito is a popular menu item for good reason.

The fillings in this location’s burritos are flavorful and fulfilling. Though, I have to admit that the Punjabi By Nature Burrito is my hands-down favorite.

It marries saag paneer with tikka masala and chana masala. That’s three of my absolute favorite curries in one burrito!

The Naughty Naan is a unique twist on traditional Indian cuisine and is just as delicious as it is creative. End your dining experience on a sweet note with the Gulab Jamun, a caramelized milk ball dessert.

The kids’ menu offerings are adorable and reasonably priced. I also love how Curry Up Now offers gift cards.

Roli Roti Gourmet Rotisserie

Roli Roti Gourmet Rotisserie changed the food truck game by creating the country’s first gourmet rotisserie food truck.

One of the things I love most about Roli Roti is the quality ingredients. This location prides itself on its minimally-processed and locally sourced ingredients.

The infamous Porchetta Sandwich is my go-to choice at this food truck. I love side dishes, and Roli Roti’s potatoes and brussel sprouts dishes are perfectly seasoned.

Plus, the potatoes are crispy thanks to the meat drippings that they’re fried in, and they have that perfect umami flavor thanks to the rosemary sea salt.

Please note that all locations are cashless and only accept digital payments.

Del Popolo

855 Bush St, San Francisco, CA 94108
Phone: 415-589-7940

Everyone loves a classic pizza dish, and Del Popolo has the best in town. The Margherita Pizza is a simple but timelessly delicious choice.

I also love the Bianca pizza for its simple, yet satisfying, composition. The blend of mozzarella with creamy ricotta, enhanced by fresh basil and garlic, is truly out of this world.

This wood-fired pizza is filling and has a deliciously thin, chewy crust. I also can’t resist the Caesar Salad. The line went quickly and my food was satisfying.

Lobsta Truck

326 Shaw Rd, South San Francisco, CA 94080
Visit Website

Lobsta Truck stays true to its name with its delicious lobster dishes. I was skeptical about lobster coming from a food truck, but I was more than pleasantly surprised.

Lobsta Truck also offers a Crab Roll and Clam Chowder, but what would an experience at Lobsta Truck be without, well, Lobsta?

I opted for the Lobsta Roll and the Lobster Bisque with some fresh-squeezed lemonade to wash it down. The bread on the roll was buttery and the portion of lobster meat was generous.

The Lobsta Roll is small in size but big in flavor, and it was the perfect mid-day pick-me-up. If you’re looking for something more satisfying, you can order the chowder (or bisque!) by the pint.

Sam’s ChowderMobile

Speaking of chowder, Sam’s ChowderMobile is another mobile seafood spot. It offers a wide variety of sandwiches, tacos, and other classic seafood dishes.

I can’t resist the Fried Shrimp Po’Boy with some fries. The fried shrimp is crispy and flavorful, and the special sauce has the perfect kick of flavor.

I love the touch of seasoning on the Old Bay fries. The Veggie Taco is another one of my favorites, but you have to love pineapple to really enjoy it!

If you’re seeking a quick bite to eat, The Spicy Popcorn Shrimp is a delicious choice. It is important to note that not all menu items are available daily, and some menu items are seasonal.

Señor Sisig

Señor Sisig serves a mashup of Mexican, Filipino, and Asian Fusion dishes. Personally, nothing can beat the California Sisig Burrito with tofu.

The tofu soaks up the cilantro cream and compliments the adobo garlic rice beautifully. If you’re looking for a savory meat option, the Tosilog Burrito is stuffed with Filipino Sweet Pork and Adobo Garlic Rice.

You can choose a spice level anywhere between Non-Spicy and Hella Spicy—I prefer the Medium Spice Level.

Don’t forget to Silog It and add an egg to your favorite dish. The Sisig Fries and Sisig Nachos are a few other must-haves and are perfect starter dishes.
