I haven’t been able to put my finger on precisely what it is.
Maybe it’s the pasta, the delicious tomato sauce, or the herbs and seasonings.
Regardless of what causes this feeling, I’m addicted to Italian food.
So, when I moved to Salt Lake City, I was hunting for the best Italian restaurants.
I’m happy to say that I’ve found some great Italian restaurants in Salt Lake City.

Caffe Molise is on University Blvd near its intersection with 200W in Downtown Salt Lake City. It is in a brick building that also houses a bank.
Caffe Molise is known to serve up some of the best Italian food in the city.
What immediately stands out about this restaurant are the decorations.
When you walk in, it feels classy without being tacky.
Caffe Molise is a great restaurant to take a date to. I highly recommend the pappardelle and the pork tenderloin.
The pappardelle is a wide, flat noodle that pairs very well with the restaurant’s Bolognese sauce.
The pork tender is tender but not overcooked and comes with a delightful sauce.
Café Trio

Cafe Trio is on 900 E near its intersection with 700 S in Salt Lake City.
It is in a small, unassuming building in the East Central neighborhood just west of the Spence Eccles Field House and a couple of blocks north of Liberty Park.
Cafe Trio is a great place to eat Italian food if you’re on a budget.
The servings are large, and the prices are reasonable. Cafe Trio has good food, but it is known for its brunch.
On Saturday and Sunday mornings, Cafe Trio is one of the busiest restaurants in the city.
Be sure to get there early if you want to avoid a long wait.
Carmine’s Italian Restaurant

Carmine’s Italian Restaurant is a small chain of Italian restaurants in Salt Lake City.
They have multiple locations because you won’t want to drive far to get some of their delicious homemade pasta and pizza.
The restaurant has a casual atmosphere, and the service is always friendly.
Carmine’s Italian Restaurant is a great place to take your family for a nice Italian dinner.
I recommend the lasagna and spaghetti with meatballs.
The lasagna is made with fresh pasta, and the meatballs are some of the best I’ve ever had.
Spaghetti is a classic dish that Carmine’s Italian Restaurant does very well.
Stanza Italian Bistro & Wine Bar

Stanza Italian Bistro & Wine Bar is in the historic Ellerbeck Mansion on 300 S between 400 E and 500 E in Salt Lake City.
The mansion has been converted into a restaurant, one of the city’s most beautiful places to eat.
The food at Stanza Italian Bistro & Wine Bar is exquisite and is a great place to take a date or to celebrate a special occasion.
I recommend the filet mignon, which is served with a creamy risotto.
The filet mignon is perfectly cooked, and the risotto is creamy and delicious.
The combination of these two dishes is heavenly.
For dessert, make sure you order the cannoli. You can thank me later.

No list of the best Italian restaurants in Salt Lake City would be complete without The Pie Pizzeria.
The Pie Pizzeria serves up pizzas to order and freshly made breadsticks.
I recommend visiting just for the free smells. The whole restaurant smells like freshly baked bread.
I highly recommend the buffalo chicken pizza if you don’t feel like making your pizza.
The buffalo chicken pizza has a great flavor.
Their vegan pizza is also surprisingly delicious, and the vegan cheese is incredible.
The Pie Pizzeria has multiple locations around the city, so there’s sure to be one near you.
Caputo’s Market and Deli

One of my favorite types of Italian restaurants is a classic deli.
Caputo’s Market and Deli fills this niche in Salt Lake City.
Better yet, there are two locations, so you are never far away from incredibly imported Italian goods and some of the best sandwiches you have ever had.
When you visit Caputo’s, I recommend the meatball sandwich and the muffuletta.
The meatballs are made in-house, and they are fantastic.
The muffuletta is a classic Italian sandwich stuffed with ham, salami, and olive salad.
It is delicious. Caputo’s should be your first stop if you’re looking for a great Italian deli in Salt Lake City.
Don’t forget to pick up something at the market when you leave.
Cucina Toscana

The restaurant is in the heart of downtown, so it is the perfect place to stop for lunch if you visit the city.
Cucina Toscana has a wide variety of Tuscan dishes on its menu.
I highly recommend the ribollita, a Tuscan soup made with bread and vegetables.
The soup is hearty and filling and will warm you up on a cold day.
If you want a lighter dish, I recommend the Caprese salad.
Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana

Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana is one of the best places to get a slice of pizza in Salt Lake City.
You can find it in downtown Salt Lake City on the corner of 200W and 300 S.
It is a couple of blocks east of Pioneer Park and just south of the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art.
The pizza here is made in the traditional Neapolitan style and is some of the best pizza I have ever had.
I highly recommend the Margherita pizza, a classic Neapolitan pizza made with tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.
The pizza here is all cooked in a wood-fired oven.
Siragusa’s Taste of Italy

Siragusa’s Taste of Italy is an excellent restaurant in Taylorsville, UT.
The restaurant is family-owned and operated, and it shows in the care they put into their food.
I highly recommend the lasagna at Siragusa’s.
It is some of the best lasagna I have ever had. The sauce is flavorful, and the pasta is cooked perfectly.
The lasagna comes with a side of garlic bread, which is also delicious.
Siragusa’s is a great place to go for a family dinner or a night on your own.

Stoneground Italian Kitchen has some of the most authentic and best Italian food in Salt Lake City.
It is in the heart of downtown on 400 S between Main St and State St, and all the food tastes like it is straight out of a grandma’s kitchen.
Stoneground Italian Kitchen has a wide variety of dishes on its menu, but my favorite is lobster.
The lobster comes with squid ink tagliatelle pasta.
The pasta is tender, and the lobster is incredibly delicate.
The pasta and lobster match perfectly with a light tomato sauce. It is delicious.
Tuscany Restaurant

Tuscany is one of the few restaurants specializing in Tuscan food in Salt Lake City.
It is in the Sugar House neighborhood on 6200 S between Highland Dr and 1300 E.
The menu at Tuscany features classic Tuscan dishes like ribollita and pappardelle al sugo.
I ordered the pappardelle al sugo, a dish of wide pasta noodles served with beef and tomato sauce.
I also enjoyed the chicken piccata.
The chicken was tender and juicy, and the lemon sauce was delicious.
Valter’s Osteria

Valter’s Osteria is a great place to come if you want to impress someone.
It is in downtown Salt Lake City on Broadway between Main St and State St.
The menu at Valter’s Osteria features classic Italian dishes with a modern twist.
I recommend getting the 6-course meal.
The menu rotates based on the ingredients available to the chef.
This dinner is as much an experience as an opportunity to eat food.
VENETO Ristorante Italiano

VENETO Ristorante Italiano is one of the best places to get authentic Italian food in Salt Lake City.
It is downtown on 900 S between 400 E and 500 E.
The menu at VENETO features classic Italian dishes like spaghetti carbonara and chicken parmesan.
I ordered the chicken parmesan, and it was excellent.
The chicken was tender and juicy, and the sauce was flavorful.
I also enjoyed the tasting menu at VENETO.
The tasting menu is an excellent option if you are unsure what to order or want to share something with your friends.
Celeste Ristorante

Celeste Ristorante may have humble digs, but it serves some of the best food in Salt Lake City.
The restaurant is family-owned and operated in the Sugar House neighborhood on 900 E between 500 S and 600 S.
The menu at Celeste focuses on authentic Italian dishes made the same way back in the mother country.
The gnocchi and the panna cotta are both incredible.
The gnocchi is little potato dumplings served with a tomato cream sauce.
The panna cotta is an Italian custard served with a berry sauce.
It is the perfect ending to a meal.
