Where to Eat Greek Food in Raleigh

Raleigh, North Carolina, has a rich history as one of the oldest established cities in the United States, dating back to the 1700s! It is named for the explorer Sir Walter Raleigh, and it is home to adventurous people who love to explore many areas of life, including the outdoors and food!

In many cities across the United States, Greek food has made its way into American cuisine due to immigrants bringing their traditional foods with them.

So the next time you find yourself in Raleigh, you may be pleasantly surprised by how many great authentic Greek dishes you can find in the local restaurants.

So without further ado, here are the best Greek restaurants I visited in Raleigh during my last trip to the City of Oaks!

Greek Fiesta at Brier Creek is a Greek restaurant that focuses on fresh and authentic Greek cuisine. You can sit down and enjoy a meal inside their casual establishment or order takeout through many delivery services.

They are famous for their char-grilled kabobs. A few commonly ordered kabobs are the chicken breast kabob, the steak kabob, and the authentic lamb kabob.

They prepare their hummus, cucumber sauce, hand-cut fries, basmati rice, greek salad, and iced tea in-house daily so you know it is fresh and made just for you.

Jasmin & Olivz Mediterranean is a trendy and laidback restaurant that self-identifies as “fast-casual.”

Since 2007, owners Nawwaf & Bayan Said have provided the Triangle area with their fabulous food. The original location is across from NC State, but there are now 7 locations in the area.

Their food is a fusion of Greek and Lebanese food featuring popular menu items like customizable pita pockets, platters, and bowls. Their food is made with local produce and from scratch daily.

This restaurant is perfect for when I have a specific diet plan to follow because their menu is wide-ranging, with options for vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and halal diets.

Online ordering is available, or you can visit their storefront. They do not have any pre-prepared meals, so it is completely up to you!

Make your own dish using their templates and fresh ingredients available each day. You can make a bowl or a pita for an affordable price.

Their sides are to die for and include classic Greek favorites like falafel, spanakopita, dolmades, and hummus and pita.

Another Greek restaurant in the Raleigh area with many locations is Taza Grill. Visit one of their locations, either in the Falls River area next to ACE Hardware or the Sutton Square Shopping Center next to the Fresh Market, for a deliciously authentic Greek meal!

I love their shawarma and steak and cheese sandwich! Their menu contains a limited number of items, but any plate or platter you decide on is sure to be delightful.

They have a few fan favorites like the Lebanese platter, the hummus sandwich, and their wide array of shish kabobs.

Taza also offers affordable catering services and online ordering for your convenience!

Taverna Agora Greek Kitchen & Bar

326 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC 27603
Phone: 919-881-8333

If you are interested in a more upscale, sit-down restaurant vibe, Taverna Agora Greek Kitchen & Bar is for you!

It is inspired by the sights, sounds, and tastes of small Greecian towns. Some menu favorites are the Gemista, the Moussaka, the Flambéed Saganaki, and the Gigantes.

It is a smaller menu, but I like that it is more minimal because I know each dish is crafted with intention and care.

Notably, Taverna Agora is quite a popular spot, so it may be prudent to make a reservation the next time you visit Raleigh!
