Located right across the street from the Museum of Modern Art in the Diamond District, Le Bernardin is a four-star fine dining restaurant specializing in French cuisine. Owner and founder Maguy Le Coze has been operating restaurants since her high school years in France, opening Le Bernardin first in Paris, then in New York in the mid-eighties to rave reviews.
Le Bernardin’s high-end French-inspired cuisine serves multi-course meals meant for special occasions. They have a Chef’s Tasting Menu and a Vegetarian Tasting Menu for group dining and private parties. The plating of every dish is exquisite, colorful, and delicate. I recommend their lobster main course with poached lobster with chanterelle and baby radish garnish and truffled lobster jus base.

Gramercy Tavern is a James Beard award-winning New American restaurant with over two decades in a historic landmark building close to Union Square. Owner and restauranteur Danny Meyer and Head Chef Michael Anthony have consistently won James Beard awards for the outstanding ambiance and stunning seasonal menus.
Their small yet beautiful private dining room comes with floral arrangements and consultants to help create perfectly tailored decorations and menus for weddings or other special occasions. The menu is a rotating tasting menu of the Chef’s choice. You’ll see dishes like smoked arctic char with tomatoes, spinach, and sesame, roasted duck with apple, squash, and shiitake mushroom, and caramelized goat cheesecake.

Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, Bobo is a French country cooking bistro situated in an old 3-story 1930s townhome with a rustic-chic interior that houses a ground floor parlor and bar, multiple dining rooms, and a beautiful back patio. Bobo’s intimate and historic space constantly hosts weddings, bridal showers, corporate events, and other private dining occasions.
Bobo offers dinner, cocktails, and brunch in lavish multicourse fashion. Their cheese plates are the best way to start the dining experience, with brie, bleu, chabichou, toasted almonds, and peach compote. I recommend their classic hangar steak with pomme pave and garlic confit.

Located in Lenox Hill, just a few blocks from the iconic Central Park, Uva is an Italian tapas and wine bar in a beautiful rustic-chic space with a chill vibe. They have an extensive wine cellar on-site, a welcoming large indoor dining room, and a beautiful backyard patio to enjoy a cozy happy hour, a long decadent dinner, or a classic Italian brunch on the weekends.
Their menu is a mix of shareable antipasti, cheese plates, charcuterie, and wood-fired bread varieties, followed by individual multi-course Italian meals for dinner. I recommend starting with the polenta tartufata, which is fresh polenta stuffed with robiola cheese in a black truffle sauce. For the main course, I recommend the red beet fingerling gnocchi in a gorgonzola sauce with baby spinach and yellow grape tomatoes.
Benjamin Steakhouse Prime

Located in the Murray Hill neighborhood, Benjamin Steakhouse Prime is a family-owned and operated fine dining steakhouse with various locations around the city. Named for the two owners who share the same name, Benjamin Steakhouse Prime strives to offer the best and friendliest service in New York. Their service and hospitality have won Benjamin Steakhouse Prime the Concierge Choice Award.
Service and hospitality aren’t the only markers of excellence at Benjamin Steakhouse Prime. Their high-quality seafood and steaks and all the delicious steakhouse sides make for an all-around wonderful dining experience. I recommend their surf and turf option, featuring a 12 oz filet mignon with lobster, shrimp, and king crab in a bordelaise sauce.

Loring Place is a New American restaurant in the heart of Greenwich Village that uses all locally sourced ingredients to convey its love of New York and mission to offer guests the ultimate New York dining experience. Head Chef Dan Kluger has worked as executive chef in various James Beard award-winning restaurants. His inventive, local market-driven menu honors New York’s bounty while supporting local and sustainable farming.
The menu at Loring Place features shareable snacks and small plates, whole wheat pizzas, and large plates. The light and airy dining room features a smaller back room that serves as an excellent private group dining space to enjoy a selection of menu items like the baked ricotta, butternut fries, and wood-grilled broccoli salad.

Located between NOHO and Chelsea, L’Artusi is a modern Italian kitchen named for the 19th-century master Italian chef and cookbook author Pellegrino Artusi. The restaurant is a large two-story space with various bars, an open kitchen, and a banquet hall dining area perfect for private parties.
L’Artusi’s menu puts a modern twist on classic Italian recipes found in Artusi’s cookbook. Their house-made pasta is amazing, and the steak and seafood-centric main dishes display the artistry and expertise of head Chef Joe Vigorito. I recommend the Pici Nero pasta with crab, Calabrian chili, garlic, tomato, nori, and breadcrumbs, followed by the branzino filet with roasted lemon, olives, and honey.
Frankies 457 Spuntino
457 Court St, Brooklyn, NY 11231
Frankies 457 Spuntino is a Brooklyn mainstay for classic Italian eats in a casual, family-friendly industrial-chic space. Frankies has three themed restaurants around New York: an Italian wine bar, a pizzeria, and the flagship Italian kitchen, Frankies 457. Their small and intimate dining room and bar open out onto an enchanting patio that hosts many a wedding and private event.
Frankies 457 menu has antipasti, appetizers, house-made pastas, and hefty main course meals, not to mention a great wine list. To create your own antipasti platter, you can choose from a vast array of fresh cheeses and cured meats. Their tomato braised short ribs over polenta is the most comforting and tasty display of classic Italian cooking.

Red Rooster is a modern high-end southern comfort restaurant in the heart of Harlem, named for the old Harlem Speakeasy that hosted all the most famous 20th-century folk, blues, and jazz greats. The Red Rooster is an ode to Harlem, incorporating the cultural diversity of this colorful neighborhood into the culinary fusion of its old meets new American comfort cuisine.
The beautiful restaurant doubles as a Harlem music venue and local art gallery, making it as visibly stunning as the food is flavorful. You can’t pass up their deviled eggs with hummus, sweet relish, and crispy onions or the sinfully decadent cornbread with roasted tomato and corn butter. For entrees, I recommend the pan-fried catfish with stewed black-eyed peas and cucumber-pickled onion salad.
Pier 25 Hudson River Park, New York, NY 10013
Perhaps the most unique restaurant in NYC, The Grand Banks is located aboard a giant sailboat docked at the Hudson River Park pier. The beautifully preserved and designed sailboat lends itself perfectly to private dining expeditions along the river with spectacular views of the surrounding city.
Grand Banks is an oyster bar and seafood restaurant with an artisanal cocktail bar. Drawing from New York’s seasonal bounty of produce and east coast oysters, the Grand Banks menu also features West Coast imported fish and shellfish. I recommend the local Montauk Oysters and a bowl of their luxurious clam chowder with Quahog clams, Andouille sausage, leeks, and thyme.
Davide Burke Tavern
135 E 62nd St, New York, NY 10065
Named for the celebrity chef and restaurateur, David Burke Tavern is one of the dozens of beautiful restaurants to emerge from Che Burke’s massive culinary empire. Located in the Upper East Side in a historic townhome, Davide Burke Tavern has many different dining spaces beautifully designed with exposed brick fireplaces, red leather booths, wood-finished walls, and a plethora of framed art pieces.
Chef Burke has won the most prestigious culinary awards from around the world, so you can count on a show-stopping menu and presentation. The menu at Davide Burke Tavern is an eclectic offering of New American cuisine with innovative fusion dishes like octopus and chorizo kabobs, crab cake pretzel rafts, and traditional steakhouse-style mains like seared wagyu beef and Tomahawk NY strip steaks.
60 E 65th St, New York, NY 10065
Located in Lennox Hill, two blocks from the iconic Central Park, Daniel is a fine dining European cuisine restaurant in a grandiose stone building and a dining room replete with ornate stone columns and a tiled dome ceiling. They have a large 50-person private dining banquette hall, a small 30-person lounge, and a bar area for small parties and will also rent out the entire restaurant for large private events.
The exquisite menu changes seasonally and is market-driven. The menu features a multicourse tour through Europe with dishes like Wild Scottish pheasant with foie gras, pickled pear, buckwheat brioche, and Limousin Veal Tenderloin with calf’s liver boudin and stuffed pasta.
47 Bond St, New York, NY 10012
Located on the cobblestoned streets of NOHO, Il Buco started as an antique shop run by filmmaker Donna Lennard and her Italian husband. The couple would invite friends for lavish Italian and Mediterranean meals that impressed guests so much that they decided to use the antiques as décor and convert the shop into a restaurant.
Their menu is a seasonal ode to Italy and Spain, with locally sourced produce and imported Italian ingredients. Dishes include classic house-made pastas and paellas, as well as vast antipasti and tapas menu. I recommend the Paella Bogavante with main lobster, soffritto, and saffron broth.
123 W 52nd St, New York, NY 10019
Located in Midtown West, a few blocks from the famous Radio City Music Hall, Ocean Prime is a high-end steakhouse and seafood restaurant in a super classy, modern space with a marble bar and giant two-story ceilinged dining room. They also have various private dining rooms and curated private dining menus for small and large parties alike.
Their menu features the best quality cuts of steak and seafood and a diverse array of flavors and cuisines. The white truffle caviar deviled eggs are an incredible opening to their menu of broiled steaks with your choice of classic sauces, butter, or seafood toppers.
43-15 Crescent St, Queens, NY 11101
Located in the Heart of Long Island City, Queens, M. Wells is a nightclub, cocktail bar, and new American comfort restaurant with a ton of personality. Their colorful and quirky dining room and main stage host comedy nights, community craft events, and much more. They offer an astounding list of cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits, along with a small menu of small plates and luxurious mains.
Their various dining rooms with brightly colored walls make for great party rooms with options for small, medium, and large parties. The menu revolves around sharing small and large plates with intriguing names like “Duck in a Pumpkin” and “salmon pot pie.”
333 Douglass St, Brooklyn, NY 11217
Located in the hip neighborhood of Brooklyn, Threes Brewing is a brewery and brewpub in a giant indoor and outdoor venue. Their industrial-chic bar with concrete floors and bar structure with heavy wood tables opens out onto a massive outdoor patio with vine-covered walls and hanging tee lights.
The menu features a massive list of beer on tap along with domestic and imported bottles and cans. They also offer a full menu of elevated bar food like giant hot pretzels, sandwiches, salads, and the biggest burgers you’ll encounter. Try the meat hook cheeseburger with two patties, special sauce, lettuce, and pickles.
Patsy’s Italian Restaurant
236 W 56th St, New York, NY 10019
Patsy’s Italian Restaurant has been serving Italian American food in Midtown for over 75 years. Family-owned and operated, Patsy’s Italian restaurant has seen three generations of family chefs, starting with Patsy himself and his grandson Sal being the current chef. A long list of celebrities has eaten and popularized this Midtown mainstay, including Frank Sinatra, David Letterman, Liza Minnelli, and Calvin Klein, to name a few.
Using family recipes from the old country, the menu has all the classic Italian favorites from cannelloni to Chicken Piccata. I recommend their trio of ravioli with lobster, spinach, and mushroom ravioli served in three different sauces to compliment the filling.
9 W 53rd St, New York, NY 10019
Located inside the Museum of Modern Art, The Modern is a contemporary American restaurant under the direction of head chef Thomas Allan. As per its location, the restaurant space is the epitome of sleek modernism, with three different dining areas: the intimate, private kitchen table, the bar room, and the enormous dining room.
The menu has won two Michelin stars, and each dining space has its own distinct menu. The kitchen table menu is a small four-person family dining experience personally served by the head chef to your table. The Modern’s large dining menu is a multi-course shareable meal that draws from the bar room’s smaller a la carte menu.
35 E 21st St, New York, NY 10010
Located in Rose Hill, a few blocks from the famous Flatiron Building, Cosme is a high-end contemporary Mexican food restaurant with a seasonal menu of locally sourced ingredients. They offer a small private dining room in a sleek, modern space with a curated, set menu meant to be enjoyed as a family-style meal.
The menu at Cosme is a superb fusion of locally sourced ingredients with Mexican flavors and innovative takes on regional Mexican food. They offer a high-end take on esquites, or Mexican street corn, with gorgonzola and crab. Their duck carnitas makes the fanciest plate of tacos you’ll ever taste.
The Musket Room
265 Elizabeth St, New York, NY 10012
Located in the SOHO neighborhood, The Musket Room is a Michelin-starred new American fusion restaurant, drawing inspiration from head Chef Mary Attea and the culinary team’s world travels and personal cultural backgrounds. The beautifully modern space has various private dining options in their various dining rooms and stunning outdoor garden patio.
The Musket Room offers a lively happy hour with a vast wine and beer list along with a full cocktail bar. They offer chefs’ tasting menus for meat-eaters and vegans alike. Their dinner menu is a small selection of appetizers and mains. I recommend the zaatar fried quail with fennel, olives, tahini, and Aleppo pepper.
400 5th Ave #2, New York, NY 10018
Located on the second floor of the Langham Hotel, two blocks from the Empire State Building in Midtown South, Ai Fiori is a Michelin star-winning Italian and French restaurant. Its stylish and elegant space features multiple dining rooms and a large open bar room, any of which can be converted into private dining spaces for any type of occasion or group size.
They have an award-winning wine program to accompany their elegant, upscale menu. They serve caviar and several raw fish and tartare dishes, along with risottos, pastas, and steakhouse-type main dishes.
36 E 4th St, New York, NY 10003
Located in the NOHO neighborhood, Misirizzi is an Italian restaurant run by three Italian Natives with a collective 40 years in the restaurant business and a bounty of knowledge on Italian cuisine specifically. The sleek yet inviting interior offers a welcoming and trendy atmosphere to enjoy a family-style meal of homemade pasta with a group of family or friends.
Their small yet delicious menu features antipasti, appetizers, cured meats, pasta, and meat dishes. Their homemade pastas are the star of the show. I recommend the Radiatori with arugula pesto, candied tomatoes, pine nuts, and mozzarella cream, and the traditional homemade lasagna.
363 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10013
Located in the upscale Tribeca neighborhood, American Cut is a modern steakhouse run by head chef Marc Forgione whose bold and innovative menu has a mix of classic New York Steakhouse and creative modern dishes. The service includes table-side preparations of fresh salads and steak flambes that make the dining experience at American Cut one to remember.
Their signature dish is the dry-aged Pastrami Ribeye with whole grain mustard and caraway butter, but they have the tried-and-true favorites like NY strip, Tomahawk Ribeye, and Japanese A5 Wagyu beef. The same goes for their sides, with traditional items like grilled asparagus and innovative spins like jalapeno mashed potatoes.

In the Flatiron District, Kyma is a modern Greek restaurant that combines a traditional Greek taverna menu in an elegant Greek Island-chic environment. Decorated in the patriotic blue and white Greek color scheme, the bar is a beautiful mosaic of blue tiles, and the rounded ceilings and walls give the dining room a nautical feel.
Their dinner menu is seafood-centric with a large raw bar menu as well as a small plate and main course menu. I recommend the pastichio spring rolls to start, followed by the Lavraki, or Greek Branzino.

Located in the Diamond District, Mastro’s Steakhouse is an upscale classic steakhouse that strives to create the highest quality dining experience for its guests with excellent service, superb food, and a super fancy atmosphere. There are various private dining rooms at Mastro’s, each with a distinct décor and vibe.
Mastro’s menu combines traditional steak and seafood dishes with Japanese steaks and sushi. They have various steak menus according to cut and world region. I recommend trying a selection of their sushi to start, followed by a more traditional steak, like their double-cut porterhouse.
