9 Pittsburgh Rooftop Bars with Skyline Views

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is the City of Bridges (and some major sports fanatics). They put fries in their salads and rep the colors black and gold frequently.

In the heart of Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, Sienna Mercato is a unique, three-in-one dining experience.

Sienna Mercato consists of three levels: Emporio, Mezzo, and Il Tetto. Il Tetto is their year-round, rooftop beer garden

This location serves beer, liquor, wine, and light snacks. It is a great spot for a date night in Pittsburgh. Il Tetto’s cheesy bread is garlicky and delicious.

As for a drink, I often order their Perro Salado. Their Blackberry Lemonade Cocktail is also delicious but is a seasonal item.

Don’t forget to pop by Mezzo, the Italian restaurant on the middle level, and give their Rigatoni Alla Vodka a try!

New Amsterdam is located on Butler Street, the main street of Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood.

It is located next to Walter’s BBQ. Lawrenceville is a trendy, upbeat area located about ten minutes from downtown Pittsburgh.

New Amsterdam has a gorgeous cityscape painted on the side of the building, so you can’t miss it. There is also an indoor bar, but the rooftop bar is a must-visit.

The snacks are delicious and the drinks are refreshing. My favorite cocktail is the Kingfly Limoncello Slushy. Kingfly is a local Pittsburgh distillery in the Strip District.

This location’s food menu is the perfect mix of bar food and a few upscale ingredients. If I’m looking for a quick bite, I enjoy the Veggie Wings with a side of ranch. The Hot Pepper Cheese Balls also have a nice kick to them.

Over Eden is another hidden gem in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood. It is located on the roof of TRYP Pittsburgh by Wyndham.

The location offers a gorgeous view of the city, overlooking areas like the Strip District and Downtown Pittsburgh.

The rooftop itself is a beautiful sight, with colorful chairs and dainty overhead lighting. The Bees Knees is the perfect refreshment on a sunny day. I also can’t pass up on the White Spring Sangria.

The Miso Ramen is a delicious addition to the menu. If you are looking for something a little lighter, you can opt for one of their delicious, fresh salads.

I recommend making a reservation for Over Eden before visiting because tables can fill up fast. You can make them online.

The Biergarten, located on top of the Hotel Monaco in downtown Pittsburgh, features a wide array of beers and German-inspired eats.

You cannot beat the views of this place. This picture-worthy rooftop sits nine stories up with aesthetically pleasing tables and a sheer railing.

There is no better pair than an ice-cold beer and a giant soft pretzel—that is my go-to combo at Biergarten.

There are several Mario’s Saloon locations throughout Pittsburgh, but none of them top their East Side location’s rooftop.

This simple, spacious setup makes the upstairs bar a relaxing and desirable destination. With several televisions and plenty of seating provided on the rooftop, this is the perfect spot to grab a drink and cheer on your favorite team.

I’m a sucker for a good dip, and they have plenty of snack choices. My favorite is the spinach artichoke dip. Mario’s East Side Saloon is open daily until 2 A.M.—visit at any hour of the day and enjoy yourself!

Carson City Saloon is a sports bar located in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood. East Carson Street consists of several bars, restaurants, and smaller shops.

It is a popular nightlife location for the college-age crowd. Carson City’s rooftop is accessible year-round and is covered during the colder months.

It gets pretty packed on the weekends, especially when the college students are in town. It is a bit tamer during the day, and their food and rooftop seating make a visit worthwhile. Their Sloppy Joe Nachos are a delicious twist on two classic dishes.

Hockey fans, Terrace on Fifth is the place to go on game days. It is located right next to the PPG Paints Arena and is Pittsburgh’s biggest outdoor lounge.

It is a casual location and has several types of seating, including sofas and traditional bar seating. Nothing says “game day” like some delicious nachos, and Terrace on Fifth’s Loaded Pulled Pork Nachos are a must-have.

The French Onion Dip is another delicious choice. As for drinks, I prefer to sip on a cold beer while watching hockey at this laid-back spot.

Level 7 is located in the AC Hotel Pittsburgh Downtown with tapas-style bites. These quick snacks are as delicious as they are reasonably priced.

This location proudly features wineries and other local Pittsburgh businesses. I love to sip on the white blend that stems from a Pittsburgh winery.

My absolute favorite food aspect at Level 7 is the unique, tiny dessert options. My sweet tooth can’t resist the Vanilla Gelato, Espresso, & Biscotti combination.
