Phoenix is the capital of Arizona, and the city is known for its sunny weather and warm temperature. Indeed, the Phoenix area is often called the Valley of the Sun. Many people visit Phoenix to visit the desert and enjoy the warmth. Additionally, various professional sports teams call Phoenix home, like the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Phoenix Suns.

Currently, over 1.5 million people call Phoenix home, and thousands more visit every year. Visitors’ two primary attractions include the Desert Botanical Garden and the Phoenix Zoo.

Some colleges and universities are based in Phoenix, like the University of Phoenix and the Grand Canyon University. Additionally, residents and guests can both explore the growing culinary scene and sample regional cuisine.

Vovomeena is a restaurant with outdoor seating on a lovely patio. The kitchen serves creative breakfast and brunch plates as well as coffee beverages. The restaurant is open daily until 1:00 pm and operates in the Willo neighborhood, near the Papago Freeway. The eatery is a perfect spot to start your day!

When I visited Vovomeena, I enjoyed the pain perdu with a whiskey caramel drizzle. I also enjoyed the Mexican benedict with poached eggs, chorizo, and hollandaise sauce. Other popular menu items include savory crepes, the willo garden burrito, and the classic egg sandwich. Try one of their exceptional espresso-based breakfast beverages.


Matt’s Big Breakfast

Matt’s Big Breakfast has more than five separate locations in the Phoenix area. Most sites are open from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. The restaurant uses organic produce, cage-free eggs, and grain feed chicken to ensure the highest quality dishes possible. Matt’s has been featured in Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.

Try the Hog & Chick with two eggs, thick-cut bacon or country sausage, toast, and potatoes. I also enjoyed the Big Pappa burrito, a tortilla with eggs, Schreiner’s chorizo, pinto beans, potatoes, jalapenos, cheddar cheese, and covered with ranchero sauce.

The Original Breakfast House is a Classic American diner serving creative classics like deep-fried French toast. The restaurant is located by Venturoso Park, near the Piestewa Freeway. It is open from 6:30 am to 2:00 pm daily for breakfast and lunch, and it is a good place for families with children.

The Original Breakfast House serves a tasty pork green chile omelet and a delicious ham steak and eggs. I recommend ordering homemade pop tarts, avocado toast, lemon curd, blueberry pancakes, or fried chicken with French toast. The pork belly tacos or the Hawaiian fried rice are great lunch options.

Fàme Cafe

Try the pancakes with chocolate chips and maple syrup. I recommend ordering the house quiche with spinach and mushrooms or the breakfast burger with cheddar and thick-cut bacon. The chicken pesto sandwich is an excellent option for a more savory meal. Their caramel latte is a tasty coffee-based breakfast beverage, but the cafe also has mimosas for a celebratory brunch moment! 


Ranch House Grille

Ranch House Grille serves comforting breakfast cuisine like chicken fried steak and is a favorite hangout for locals. The diner serves breakfast and lunch from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Sherwood Towne community, near the Arizona Country Club. The restaurant opened in 1999 and has served the community for more than twenty years.

The steak and eggs and the Huevos Rancheros are delicious classic dishes on the menu. Other popular items include the Belgian waffle with blueberries, the southwest chicken fried steak, and the chorizo burrito. My favorite dish is the black bean and avocado omelet with provolone.


Snooze, an A.M. Eatery

Two brothers started Snooze because they believed in the mantra that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that meal should be delicious. For more than fifteen years, Snooze has been serving breakfast to the community, and more recently, the restaurant has worked to promote composting and community gardening.

When I visited Snooze, I enjoyed the Bloody Mary and the Bacon Sensation sandwich with a brioche bun, green goddess cream cheese, an over-medium cage-free egg, bacon, and Dijon citronette dressed arugula. Try the Smashed Avocado Benny, which has smashed avocado on top of an English muffin with parmesan cheese and a few other delicious ingredients. It is a spicy sandwich, so keep that in mind.


The Oink Cafe – Paradise Valley

The Oink Cafe is in Paradise Valley by the Pleasant Valley Estates, near the Stonecreek Golf Club. It is a welcoming family-run breakfast and lunch restaurant specializing in preparing bacon and pork. The Oink Cafe is a Best of Phoenix winner for their Maple Bacon Donut. It is open from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm daily.

Try the two eggs & carne asada with pico de gallo, hash browns, and flour tortillas. I enjoyed the Oink breakfast nachos. It was a delicious plate with corn chips covered in green chili pork, chorizo cheese sauce, two eggs, and topped with pico de gallo. After your meal, try the cinnamon roll for a sweet treat.

Dick’s Hideaway is a cozy bar and restaurant with a refined rustic vibe. The kitchen serves Southwestern and American fusion cuisine. Dick’s Hideaway is located just off Bethany Home Road and opens at 7:00 am daily. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant is a great place to meet friends for a tasty brunch.

When I visited Dick’s Hideaway, I enjoyed the enchiladas & eggs with smoked turkey and green chile pork fillings, served with three eggs over easy, beans, and hash browns. I’d also recommend the eggs benedict jalapeno, the Rellenos & eggs, and the Huevos Rancheros. 


Ollie Vaughn’s

Ollie Vaughn’s is a restaurant and bakery open between 7:00 am and 2:00 pm. It is located in the Coronado neighborhood near the Banner University Hospital. The coffee is delicious, and the atmosphere of the place is comfortable and fun. Notably, the restaurant identifies as women-owned.

Ollie Vaughn’s serves biscuits and gravy, bagel with lox, and a tuna melt with dill mayo. I also enjoyed trying the veggie breakfast sandwich with jalapeno relish, and I recommend the Forbidden Rice Salad with goats cheese, cranberries, and apples. The fresh pastries are delightful, especially the croissant.


The Henry

The Henry is situated near the Hacienda Granada community. It is an upscale eatery with outdoor seating on a patio. The restaurant serves an American menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the bar is fully stocked to prepare tasty cocktails. The Henry opens at 7:00 am daily.

I enjoyed the Greek Yogurt Parfait with granola, banana, strawberry, blueberry, and toasted coconut when I visited The Henry. Other popular menu items include the caramel apple french toast with syrup, butter, and delicious cinnamon apples and the spicy sausage scramble, which is delicious.


La Grande Orange Grocery & Pizzeria

The menu is filled with delicious options. I recommend ordering the French pancakes with creme fraiche, the commuter sandwich with an English muffin and a scrambled egg, or the prosciutto toast. After 11:00 am, order one of the pizzas, like the roasted corn pizza with goat cheese and basil or the Gladiator with pepperoni, sausage, and cheese.


Pomegranate Cafe

The pancakes are served with coconut whipped cream and are very tasty! I also enjoyed the country burrito with tofu and sauteed peppers. The wild western tacos are great and are served with jackfruit carnitas. Try the cold brew or the coconut caramel latte. The Tropical Sunshine smoothie is an excellent option for those who prefer a lighter breakfast option.


Essence Bakery Cafe

Located in Arcadia Lite, Essence Bakery Cafe is a local chain serving breakfast classics, sandwiches, pot pies, and macarons focusing on European-Southwestern fusion bites.

The atmosphere here is casual and comfortable. Essence Bakery is open between Wednesday and Saturday. It is an excellent place for a simple and delicious breakfast, and I would recommend it as a fun location for a daytime date!

When I visited Essence Bakery Cafe, I enjoyed Quiche Lorraine with bacon, spinach, green onions, and gruyere cheese. Other popular menu items include buttermilk and organic oat pancakes, Spanakopita, and the classic egg sandwich.

Try the Huevos Frenchos, French-style scrambled eggs topped with avocado and fresh tomato salsa.


Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club has two locations in Phoenix, one in Cityspace and one in Biltmore. The restaurant serves coffee, cocktails, and breakfast classics. It is open daily, beginning at 7:00 am. The Breakfast Club is a great place to eat breakfast with your family.

Try the Breakfast Grilled Cheese with bacon, fontina, cheddar cheese, and grilled sourdough. Order the churro waffle with a cinnamon sugar dredge and vanilla ice cream for a sweet breakfast.

Try the Monte Cristo with French toast, ham, turkey, fontina, powdered sugar, and raspberry jam. I also enjoyed the iced coffee with my breakfast.


Scramble

Scramble is open for breakfast and lunch and operates in two separate locations in Phoenix. One site is on 7th Street, while the other is located on Camelback Road. The restaurant prepares gluten-free and vegan dishes for guests with special diets.

Popular menu items at Scramble include Santa Fe eggs benedict, avocado toast, and classic oatmeal. Try the mushroom & bacon omelet or the cinnamon roll. The menu is filled with savory and sweet options, so there is something at Scramble for everyone.

Even your four-legged friends can have something to eat here because the restaurant makes a pup cake with peanut butter and banana!
