Amara at Paraiso
3101 NE 7th Ave, Miami, FL 33137
First up is a place in Edgewater called Amara at Paraiso. This Latin American restaurant is easily one of the greatest places to eat in Miami. You can literally sit by the water’s edge and gaze out into beautiful Biscayne Bay while you eat a delicious meal.
Amara has some absolutely amazing cuisine to boot. I recommend the grilled red snapper or the spicy grilled prawns for dinner when you come here. After all, you may as well have some delicious seafood if you’re eating this close to the water. Don’t forget a tropical cocktail while you’re at it!
3425 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33137
Next up is Lagniappe, and if you’re into live music, then this is the place to be on most nights. The outdoor seating area is enormous and completely walled in by vegetation with cozy string lights hanging between the trees.
I love hanging out here and grabbing a beer while listening to the band, it’s just such a relaxing way to spend a Friday night.
I also love the fact that I can come to Lagniappe and grab a meat and cheese charcuterie board with a glass of wine. They have other, more substantial options as well, though, so don’t worry.
Mandolin Aegean Bistro
4312 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33137
What we have here is a Greek restaurant like no other. Mandolin Aegean Bistro serves incredible Greek and Turkish cuisine in a repurposed vintage 1930s-era house that’s over on Northeast 2nd avenue, just north of the Miami Design District shopping mall.
The courtyard at Mandolin is one of my all-time favorite places to eat lunch on a sunny day. It’s not too big, so it doesn’t get very crowded, but you’re surrounded by the light blue and white paint scheme that makes you think of the buildings in Santorini.
The menu changes daily here at Mandolin, so you’ll just have to stop in and see what they’ve got going on that day!
7700 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33138
Right near the Little River neighborhood on Biscayne Boulevard is Cafe Kush, another one of Miami’s best outdoor dining spots. It’s just south of the Midpoint shopping mall at the Selina Miami Gold Dust
Cafe Kush has a charming little patio with umbrella-covered tables that are perfect for two people to enjoy an intimate outdoor dining experience.
I highly recommend starting with a couple tasty hors d’oeuvres like the beef carpaccio. After that, I would definitely go for the absolutely incredible coq au vin. I was totally blown away by the quality of Cafe Kush’s rendition of this classic French dish.
La Mar by Gaston Acurio
500 Brickell Key Dr, Miami, FL 33131
Up next is a very luxurious dinner destination that everyone visiting Miami should make a point to stop in at. La Mar by Gaston Acurio is a South American restaurant situated on Brickell Key inside the Mandarin Oriental Miami hotel, right next to Brickell Key Park.
Having dinner on the waterfront patio is unlike any other experience eating out in Miami. From La Mar’s location on Brickell Key, you are afforded an unbeatable view of Downtown Miami all lit up.
La Mar specializes in Peruvian cuisine, so I tried the lomo saltado and I was not at all disappointed.
2801 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127
Just north of the Wynwood Walls outdoor museum in the Wynwood Art District is Bakan, a delightful Mexican restaurant with a vibrant outdoor bar and seating area. It’s all covered, too, so no need to fear getting wet during those daily Florida rainstorms!
If you’re a fan of mezcal, you’ll want to be heading to Bakan as soon as possible. The menu here features over 400 bottles of mezcal for you to try. Just ask your server when you arrive for more info on any you’re interested in.
I always get one of the quesadillas from Bakan. They’re so tasty!
7580 NE 4th Ct, Miami, FL 33138
Finally, a pizza place! As a massive fan of a good pepperoni pizza and eating outdoors in Miami, this is one of my favorite spots in town. You should definitely pay them a visit if you’re nearby.
Their outdoor patio here at Ironside is covered and even has lots of fans on the ceiling to beat that famous Florida heat, not to mention it’s tastefully decorated with hanging plants for a little ambiance.
There is also a larger, uncovered outdoor courtyard area with a sandy lounge where you can kick back and relax with a drink and some friends.
820 Alton Rd, Miami Beach, FL 33139
This next place is called Macchialina and they’re an terrific Italian restaurant to check out when you want to eat outside in Miami. Macchialina is located over on South Beach, just south of the Whole Foods Market near Flamingo Park.
The outdoor seating area is right outside the front doors, covered partially by the awning and lit up by cozy string lights.
I really recommend ordering the Chef’s Tasting Menu when you come here. It consists of 5 divine courses with an optional wine pairing to accompany it. There’s no better way to enjoy the ultimate fine-dining experience, in my opinion.
Monty’s Raw Bar
2550 S Bayshore Dr, Miami, FL 33133
For this next one, we’re heading over to Bayshore Landing in Northeast Coconut Grove to check out Monty’s Raw Bar with some of the best outdoor dining Miami has to offer. They’re just south of David T. Kennedy Park, right before The Fresh Market on South Bayshore Drive.
Monty’s has the whole tiki bar vibe down pat. The outdoor seating area has thatched-roof coverings over every table to imitate the feel of dining on a tropical vacation in Hawaii, at least that’s how I felt.
One of the best parts about coming to Monty’s is the fact that you can get fresh stone crab claws, one of my favorites foods.
1103 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132
Verde is a New American restaurant located inside the Pérez Art Museum Miami, right next to the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science and Maurice A. Ferré Park, and they are one of the best Miami restaurants with outdoor seating.
The layout is very modern and spacious with high ceilings and a great sea breeze from the water nearby. You also get a picturesque view of the MacArthur Causeway bridge while you eat, as well.
They have delicious pizza and burgers here at Verde, but the seafood dishes are also great choices, too. No matter what you’re in the mood for , you can find something you like here.
5020 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33137
Next up is Vista Restaurant and they have one of my favorite outdoor bars in Miami for when I want to grab a refreshing drink on a hot, sunny day. They’re located inside the Upper Buena Vista shopping center, too, so it’s a great place to take a break if you’re on a shopping spree.
They have a spacious outdoor seating area that’s partially covered from the sun and wonderfully decorated with hanging plants overhead.
When you get here, I recommend ordering something from the raw bar like Alaskan crab legs or a platter of some oysters.
García’s Seafood Grille & Fish Market
398 NW N River Dr, Miami, FL 33128
Garcia’s Seafood Grille & Fish Market is one of my favorite places to eat outside in Miami. They’re located over on North River Drive near the Lummus Park Historic District, overlooking the busy Miami River.
Definitely check out the open-air deck where you can eat lunch or dinner while watching the marine traffic sail by on the river.
What I recommend from Garcia’s are stone crab claws. They have some of the biggest claws I’ve ever seen. The conch steak is also a fantastic option. Don’t forget that Garcia’s is also a fish market so you can take fish home to cook yourself if you like!
541 SW 12th Ave, Miami, FL 33130
This next outdoor dining destination I want to mention is called Doce Provisions. This Cuban restaurant has a beautiful, spacious outdoor courtyard with a fountain and cozy nighttime lighting.
When you get to Doce Provisions over in East Little Havana, I recommend starting with a couple of the short rib tacos or the ahi tuna tostones. After your appetizer, consider an order of the charred salmon for a nice seafood entree, or maybe even the traditional Cuban classic, ropa vieja.
Check out Doce Provisions off of Southwest 12th Avenue, right around the corner from the Calle Ocho Walk of Fame in Domino Park.
335 S Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33131
Up next is Il Gabbiano located inside the One Miami Condominium, West Tower, right next to gorgeous Bayfront Park. It’s an ideal place to go and enjoy a meal after relaxing in the park all day.
When you eat on the outdoor terrace here at Il Gabbiano, you get an amazing view of Brickell Key and all the enormous condos, not to mention the beautiful blue waters of Biscayne Bay.
What I recommend from Il Gabbiano is either the chicken milanese or the veal piccata. I’ve had both of these classic Italian entrees here at Il Gabbiano and they were splendid.
Watr at the 1 Rooftop
2341 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139
This next place has some of the best views of Miami that you’ll find anywhere in the city. Just north of Collins Park, inside the 1 Hotel South Beach, is a place called Watr at the 1 Rooftop. This rooftop restaurant and bar is one of the best places to eat outdoors in Miami.
The atmosphere is modern with lots of wood accents, not to mention absolutely delectable food. If you’re looking for somewhere to soak up the sun, you can even lay out in the lounge area for the ultimate sunbathing spot with a plate of sushi next to you.
Check out other rooftop bars in Miami on our list here.
Casa Florida Miami
437 SW 2nd St, Miami, FL 33130
Next up is a cocktail bar called Casa Florida Miami that’s located over in East Little Havana, just north of Jose Marti Park.
The vibe is very retro Miami here at Casa Florida, which is one of the things I love most about it. Pink and palm trees make up the primary decorating scheme so it’s got a fun, tropical feel to it.
I like hanging out at the outdoor bar when I come to Casa Florida, but they have indoor seating as well. They also have small bites of food here as well for when you get a bit peckish.
Monchys Patio Restaurant
1971 NW 17th Ave, Miami, FL 33125
Last, but not least, is Monchy’s Patio Restaurant, an outdoor dining destination like no other in Miami. This place is located in the Allapattah neighborhood and they serve some of the most delicious Latin cuisine that I’ve ever had.
They have a small patio on which you can enjoy your food while getting some fresh air at the same time. I love coming here and sitting outside while I eat!
My favorite things to order from Monchy’s include the chicharones and their fried chicken combos. Everything is fast and fresh here, so don’t hesitate to come on by when you want to eat delicious food outdoors.
Now you’ll know exactly where to go when you want to eat outdoors in Miami. These amazing restaurants have some of the best atmosphere when it comes to outdoor dining, pictures just don’t do them justice and you’ll have to come see them yourself for the full effect.
