Top Rated Oklahoma City Restaurants to Try This Week

Places to eat in the area that will blow you away.

I’ve been to a fair share of cities across the country over the past few years, but when it comes to eateries, nothing compares to Oklahoma City. The most popular restaurants in OKC are insanely good! That’s why I decided to share them with you.

After sampling all of the top-rated restaurants in Oklahoma City for myself, I’ve compiled a list of the most impressive restaurants in the area. In addition to some spectacular restaurants, Oklahoma City has plenty of other attractions to make it worth the trip as well.

For example, the National Cowboys and Western Heritage Museum is a real treat for anyone who enjoys the rich and exciting history of the Wild West. Oklahoma City is an urban center that is steeped in the history of the West.

When you look out beyond the city onto the long flat plains beyond, you can almost feel the sense of promise, opportunity, and excitement that the soils of Oklahoma and the horizon beyond offered the cowboys of yore.

Cheever’s Cafe made it straight to the top of my list of the best restaurants in Oklahoma City for a reason, BRUNCH! While the lunch and dinner menus offer plenty of satisfying options as well, the brunch menu here has more than I expected.

Out of everything I tried here, one item from the brunch menu outshined the rest—the Stuffed French Toast with apple butter mascarpone, compote, and fresh whipped cream.

I enjoyed this spectacular meal with their All-Nighter, a delightful coffee-infused bourbon, cinnamon-vanilla syrup, black walnut bitters, and cream. My dinner recommendation? The Cornbread Crusted Redfish and Grilled Shrimp Pasta.

The Mule

1630 N Blackwelder Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73106

The Mule gave me quite a kick, no pun intended! This place serves up some of the best sandwiches that I’ve ever eaten! You won’t find sandwiches like these anywhere else in Oklahoma City, that’s for sure!

What would I recommend? The Macaroni Pony, a delicious sandwich crafted with Jalapeño Cornbread, 3 Cheese Mac and Cheese, Chipotle BBQ Pulled Pork and, of course, a pickle.

If you’re into hot melts and cold beer, The Mule is the place for you! However, if you’re starving, I’d recommend having the Angry Texan sandwich with a Mezcal Mule. It’s a great way to get your fill and mellow out at the same time.

Kitchen No. 324

Now here’s another great place to have brunch! So when you have a hankering for scratch biscuits and a beer, Kitchen 324 is the place to score!

Located on N Robinson Ave, Kitchen 324 is practically next to the Myriad Botanical Gardens and the American Banjo Museum. These are two great places to visit!

Another recommendation? The Fried Green Tomato Benedict comes with poached eggs, fried green tomato, hollandaise, English muffin, and crispy potatoes. I’m pleased to report that it tasted like heaven! I took a second helping to go back to my hotel room.

I was also quite pleased with the options on the wine list. The Lone Birch Chardonnay and Frisk Riesling were particularly satisfying.

The Metro Wine Bar & Bistro

Located near Redlands Park, The Metro Wine Bar & Bistro offers a sophisticated menu for those with a sophisticated palette. For those of you that have been skeptical about fine dining in Oklahoma City, you’ve got to check this place out.

As a discerning connoisseur of fine dining, I can assure you that it will not disappoint. The first dish I tried defied expectations. Their Mushroom Ravioli with Tomato Relish and Light Mushroom Cream had a rich flavor that blew me away.

I tried the Lamb Potstickers next and couldn’t believe how delicious they were with their Tamarind Ketchup. When it comes to fine dining in the OKC, this is as good as it gets!

Empire Slice House

1804 NW 16th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73106

The Empire Slice House is one of the most popular restaurants in OKC, and for a good reason! You can find this place on NW 16th St, which is near the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

If good food is what you’re looking for, you’ll find plenty of it here! Andre’s Mini-Meatballs are a great way to kick off your meal. These babies are covered in shaved parmesan cheese and fresh herbs.

My favorite drink here? Well, actually, I have two! My number one favorite would have to be the Pickle Ricky made with Pickle vodka, Uncle Val’s Peppered gin, Som ginger, lime, and soda. The Empire’s Old Fashioned is a close second favorite. This cocktail features Evan Williams bourbon, toasted coconut syrup, and bitters

The Loaded Bowl

1211 SW 2nd St, Oklahoma City, OK 73108

This one almost made it to #1 on my list! The Loaded Bowl is in a great part of the city near Scissortail Park. It’s also very close to two of my favorite breweries, Anthem Brewing Company and Stonecloud Brewing Company.

The food here is out of this world! So when you’re traveling, and you want some comfort food, give the Down Home Bowl a try. This dish comes with cashew mac + cheese served with chopped lb bbq and grilled veggies.

I was also blown away by their Buffalo Mac Bowl and, of course, the Maple Chili Mac Bowl. Not in the mood for a mac bowl? No problem! The Layered Enchiladas aim to please, try them out!

Paseo Grill

The Paseo Grill is one of the unique restaurants in Oklahoma City. Nestled in the Paseo Arts District, this place is steeped in art and culture. To say that the food here is amazing would be a tragic understatement.

The Cherry Wood Smoked Salmon, for example, is beyond amazing. In addition, this dish comes with an exceptionally flavorful citrus mustard aioli. Like seafood? Then you’ll love the Lobster and Crab Cake!

Meatloaf might not sound like the most exciting dish in the world, but the Southwest Meatloaf at the Paseo Grill set my palette on fire! It’s amazing, just like everything else on the menu!

Hideaway Pizza

The aptly named Hideaway Pizza also made it on my list of the best restaurants in Oklahoma City. Why? Because this place is more than just a pizza joint, it’s a destination. The pizza ovens here have been serving up world-famous pizza since 1957, which means they know their stuff!

You should know that they also serve some fantastic starters, sandwiches, and baked pasta dishes! Of course, you can’t beat the specialty pizzas like Maui Magic and Paradise Pie.

The former features a generous helping of mozzarella, Canadian bacon, pineapple, and mandarin oranges. At the same time, the latter is topped with Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, and provolone cheese, grilled chicken, smoked bacon, fresh mushrooms, fresh spinach, and Roma tomatoes.

Tucker’s Onion Burgers

Tucker’s Onion Burgers has a special place in my heart. Why? Because they understand that an onion burger isn’t a simple burger variation, it’s a masterpiece. Every dish I had here was a true masterpiece in its own right, and it’s definitely worth a try!

Graced with a refreshing vintage modern atmosphere, this place aims to serve the best Oklahoma onion burgers with the best ingredients, and I think they hit their mark. The Double Onion Burger with Cheese made me melt, but what got me was the Mother Tucker. Now that’s what I’m talking about! You can add cheese for a buck. But, trust me, it’s worth it!

Trapper’s Fishcamp & Grill

4300 W Reno Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73107
Phone: 405-943-9111

Trapper’s Fishcamp & Grill is situated in the heart of Manwell Acres and features some of the most fantastic food in Oklahoma City. This restaurant goes back to 1994, and it’s been serving some of the best food in the city ever since.

The Mesquite Quail Drummies won me over right quick, but Anne’s Hot Crab Dip is what stole my heart. When you’re looking for a particularly hearty meal, you’ll want to try their Bayou Gumbo and Cajun Pasta. Like spicy seafood? Then try the Seafood Diablo, it’s hot!

They also have a most impressive selection of bourbon. While I enjoy a glass or two of Old Forester myself, you can find almost any bourbon you can think of here.

Now here’s a real American classic right in the heart of the great State of Oklahoma! Mickey Mantle’s Steakhouse is an upscale steakhouse located near the shores of the North Canadian River, a most beautiful sight to see.

The wagyu steak has heavenly flavors that you have to try for yourself. Trust me, you deserve it! Want something less exotic? Then go for the prime beef. It’s just as spectacular.

Finally, the wine list is superb. The wines at their disposal are beyond description. They match the quality of the food perfectly. This place has something special, come on down and see for yourself.

One of the best restaurants in Oklahoma City is on NW 10th Street. Located near McKinley Park, you can find some of the best food in the city at Packard’s New American Kitchen.

Whether you’re coming from 1,000 miles away or just down the street, the Eôté Coffee alone is worth the trip. Want something to eat? Then try the Andouille Sausage Hash and the Three Cheese Quiche!

I would also recommend their Crawfish Scampi and Fried Gnocchi. Still hungry? Then try the Buddha Bowl, a fantastic combination of Shiitakes, Peas, Red Bell Peppers, Carrots, Brown Rice, Quinoa, Ginger-Chili Sauce, Avocado, and Sesame Seeds.

Ludivine

Want to know where to eat in Oklahoma? It’s a place called Ludivine, and it’s amazing. Located near Automobile Alley, Ludivine offers some of the most delicious entrees in Oklahoma City. As one of the city’s top-rated restaurants, Ludivine has one of the State’s best Prime Kansas City Strips!

The Venison & Wagyu Ravioli withsautéed greens, ricotta, and garlic cream sauce were so excellent I came back for more the next day. With Chocolate Torte for dessert, it was the perfect ending to a splendid day in Oklahoma City.

One last tip, if you love seafood, you’ll want to try the Pan Seared John Dory for sure!

Pearl’s Crabtown

Pearl’s Crabtown, located near the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, is a great place to visit when you’re touring the OKC. This place is a great restaurant to eat when you have a family. It’s kid-friendly and offers great food.

I fell in love with the Homemade Cajun Tator Tots and Louisiana Crab Cakes. However, if you like spicy food and seafood, you’ll find that Pearl’s Crabtown has the best of both. Case in point, the Hot & Spicy Fried Calamari!

Want something unique? Try the Crab Pot Pie. It’s delicious! The Snow Crab Legs are just as good. I loved it!

Flint

15 N Robinson Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73102

You can find Flint near City Hall Park, a beautiful attraction that’s worth visiting. The dinner menu here is fantastic! It took me a while to decide what to have because everything sounded so good. In the end, I wound up violating my diet by devouring three entrees in one glorious sitting.

The Blackened Chicken Fettucine was an instant favorite. I knew it was a winner as soon as I tasted it. As for seafood, I loved their Cornmeal Crusted Catfish; flavor like that is hard to find. The best meal of all? That has got to be the St. Louis BBQ 3/4 Rib Rack, a must-try!

Cafe Kacao

3325 N Classen Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73118
Phone: 405-602-2883
Visit Website

The Cafe Kacao is near the Oklahoma Railway Museum, which offers some amazing insights into the history of the railroads. In addition, the cafe serves up some of the best Latin food you’ll find in theWest.

You haven’t tasted Huevos Rancheros until you’ve had it at Cafe Kacao! It’s the real deal. Out of everything on the menu, the Caribbean Crab Cakes stood out. The flavor was unbelievable! Of course, the Burrito Cubano was also a winner. The burrito was rich with garlic sauce and came with a generous allotment of mojo shredded beef and onions, plantains, whole black beans, and rice.

Social Deck + Dining

1933 NW 23rd St, Oklahoma City, OK 73106
Phone: 405-602-8705

Social Deck + Dining has some of the best Buttermilk Biscuits that I have ever tasted! Another exceptional menu item would be the Burrata Board with honey, marcona almond, toast, and fresh fruit.

The Avocado Toast and Pan Roasted Brussel Sprouts & Mushrooms were also amazing! This place might be last on the list, but it’s one of the best places to eat in Oklahoma City. The atmosphere here is fairly casual, don’t worry about wearing anything fancy.

With great food and a pleasant environment, you will find a lot to love about Social Deck + Dining! So put it on your list and make the trip!

Final Thoughts

As you have seen, Oklahoma City has some of the most incredible food in the nation. That’s why it’s worth the trip. The food itself is a great reason to plan a trip to Oklahoma City. My advice would be to plan on staying for at least 5-6 days. That’ll give you plenty of time to hit all the hot spots and take in the local flavor.

Taking a trip north? If you’re on your way up to Wichita, you might want to check out these steakhouses when you get there.
