Sushi is one of our absolute favorite foods. Not only because of the wide variety of flavor profiles, but also the many different combinations it comes in. There is also beauty in the artistic presentation of the cuisine, and the skill required to create it. If you’re looking for the best sushi around Times Square, these restaurants serve up amazing sushi at the hands of the top sushi masters.

Unfortunately, for us and all of our fellow sushi-lovers out there in the Big Apple, it can be hard to find restaurants in Times Square with the freshest sushi, simply because of how many there are all over the place. We thought we’d make things easy by putting together a list of all the greatest sushi places in the city to help you find out exactly where you want to go.

Haru Sushi

This first place on our list of Times Square’s best sushi joints is called Haru Sushi and you can find them off of West 43rd Street, right next to the Hard Rock Café in the Paramount Building and across the street from the Lyric Theatre. Once inside, you’re greeted with a modern and sophisticated atmosphere that’s also calm and serene, allowing you to relax while you ponder the expansive menu which includes a full liquor bar. The sushi is amazingly fresh and delicious here at Haru Sushi. We recommend trying one of their many specialty rolls, but they have great sashimi as well.

Sushi Lab

Next up is a place called Sushi Lab that you can find off of West 47th Street, inside the Sanctuary Hotel New York, where they serve some of the best sushi within walking distance to Times Square. The interior of this restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and it feels like you’re dining in an indoor arboretum, so we give them 5 stars when it comes to ambiance, but if that doesn’t impress you, then the food sure will. They use nothing but premium, fresh fish in their sushi here at Sushi Lab, and it shows. We absolutely love their seared salmon roll and their spicy tuna tartare roll the most, so be sure to try those when you stop by.

Sushi Seki Times Square is the utter definition of refined culinary luxury that retains all of its classic, traditional allure and quality, making absolutely no sacrifices when it comes to providing some of the best sushi in New York City. What we think makes Sushi Seki one of the best sushi restaurants in Times Square is their inclusion of an omakase option on their menu which means “I’ll leave it up to you”, essentially opting to have the chef choose for you, which is a very exciting and unique experience.

Ootoya – Times Square

Ootoya is another great place to go if you’re looking for the best Times Square sushi restaurants and you can find them off of West 41st Street near Broadway in the Theater District, right behind the Hilton Garden Inn New York/Times Square Central. Since they’re a relatively small place, it can almost be kind of hard to spot Ootoya from the street with everything going on around it, but we promise you don’t want to miss this sushi joint. They pride themselves on serving the most authentic, delicious Japanese cuisine here at Ootoya, and take pride they should because the sushi is so fresh it simply melts in your mouth.

Last, but not least, is Fuji, a Japanese steakhouse restaurant near Times Square and the Theater District, and we think they’re one of the best places to go for sushi in Times Square. Poke bowls are their specialty here at Fuji, but they have many other delicacies like Japanese Crepes filled with things like sea scallops or grilled chicken, as well as plenty of amazing hibachi selections like surf n’ turf.
