I spent a lot of time recently scouring the city for things to do on New Year’s Eve in New Orleans, and I certainly did not come back empty-handed. Allstate Sugar Bowl Parade
The official Allstate Sugar Bowl New Year’s Parade, a Mardi Gras-style parade with floats, bands and other participants, entertains fans young and old prior to the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The parade, which is scheduled for the afternoon of December 30, 2022 (scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start), will start at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and Decatur Street.
It will travel through the French Quarter up Decatur Street along the Mississippi River, passing iconic landmarks such as The Old US Mint, the French Market, Cafe du Monde and Jackson Square. Check back for final route details and times. Check out their website for more info!

The Westin New Orleans is known for their Annual NYE celebrations over looking the Mississippi river! This year after the long-drawn Covid Era that seemed never ending, it’s time to go back to the prohibition times and celebrate the upcoming new year!
We will be hosting The Great Gatsby Gang to get our swing on and “cut the rug”, DJ Raj Smoove to keep the party swaying and Trixie Minx performing glamourous authentic burlesque shows throughout the evening. Definitely an evening not to miss!
SET GALA 2023
This annual tradition is inspired by tenants of the NYC Met Gala providing the New Orleans community with an opportunity to dress to the 9’s and highlight Black artistry – past, present and future.
Curated by Mikey Offline and Lil Jodeci, this year the SET GALA aims to reach its zenith of influence at the intersection of style, flavor, and nightlife with Missy Elliot as this year’s muse. Icons of years past include Grace Jones and Nina Simone.

Are there Fireworks in New Orleans?
Many cities will have fireworks to celebrate the New Year. Check your local area to see where and when the fireworks will be. There are typically fireworks in Jackson Square after the Fleur de Lis drops at midnight!
Final Thoughts
As you can see, New Year’s Eve in a city like New Orleans is on a whole other level. There are so many places to party and watch fireworks around the city that it’s almost impossible to have a bad time on NYE in New Orleans, especially if you head to any of the venues I listed above.
