One of the most popular venues in Jersey City is the Loew’s Jersey Theatre, where movies and live entertainment acts often perform. The theater is located in Journal Square, a popular neighborhood in the city.

When I visited Franklin Social for brunch, I enjoyed the chicken lollipops with hot honey and blue cheese.

The shrimp po’boy with creole remoulade and the brunch burger with thick-cut bacon are delicious options. Bottomless brunch is offered every Saturday and Sunday with jazz music setting a comfortable atmosphere.


Buddy’s JC

Buddy’s JC is located in the Paulus Hook neighborhood near the Hudson River. The restaurant opens at 9:00 am daily.

The vintage-style exterior lighting enhances the rustic vibe, and the menu is filled with creative brunch plates. It is a fun place for brunch with friends.

My favorite dish is one of the restaurant’s signature creations, the Philly cheesesteak benedict.

Other popular dishes include the spiced French toast stick with mixed berries, the Cinnamon Toast Crunch pancakes, and the short rib hash.

In addition to espresso-based beverages, the restaurant offers an array of brunch cocktails like Aperol spritz, bloody mary, and apple cider sangria.


Frankie

Frankie is located in Downtown Jersey City near the Jersey City City Hall. The restaurant is open between Wednesday and Sunday, with brunch hours on the weekends.

Frankie focuses on Australian cuisine and imported wines and is named after the founder’s feisty chihuahua.

I enjoyed the Bananas in Pajamas smoothie with bananas and almond milk. Other favorites include the full English breakfast, the crab scramble, and the vegemite toast.

Classic drinks like mimosas and bloody marys are offered during brunch, but I recommend ordering a jug of the Pimm’s cup with cucumber and mint.


The Hutton Bar & Grill

The Hutton Bar & Grill is near Leonard Gordon Park in The Heights neighborhood. The restaurant is open from 11:00 am to at least 1:00 am every day.

The interior’s warm wood and glass windows create a beautiful and welcoming space for visitors to enjoy. The bar also has an outdoor patio with a 200-year-old oak tree!

When I visited The Hutton Bar & Grill, I enjoyed a Full Irish Breakfast with eggs, black and white pudding, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, and beans.

I also recommend ordering the marinated skirt steak and eggs with fried shishitos or the bourbon caramel French toast with espresso gelato. Be sure to try the mojito or the sangria.


Skinner’s Loft

Skinner’s Loft is in Downtown Jersey City. It is a family-operated, upscale restaurant serving New American cuisine and local craft brews. The eatery has excellent rooftop dining.

It is open from Thursday to Monday and for brunch on Sundays. Maggie Veca is the owner and founder, and Chef Juan Gabriel runs the kitchen.

My favorite brunch item at Skinner’s Loft is the crispy shrimp and pancetta sandwich with a lemon-cucumber remoulade on house-baked ciabatta.

Other tasty dishes include the soppressata and manchego grilled cheese and the buttermilk pancakes. Try the Gentleman’s Mimosa with bourbon, cranberry juice, and prosecco!


The Hamilton Inn

The Hamilton Inn offers a wide variety of brunch options. Try the cornbread French toast or the classic eggs benedict. I enjoyed the bacon bloody mary and the truffled home fries.

The Inn also serves various types of coffees. Brunch is served from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm; it is a great place for friends and family to share a meal.


Orale Mexican Kitchen

The Dia de Los Muertos-themed joint is a fun place to enjoy brunch. The eatery is excellent for group dining with private spaces and creative dishes.

The brunch menu has a great mix of traditional and creative dishes. Try the duck confit nachos or the Blanca omelet with egg whites and goat cheese.

I enjoyed the chicken fried steak enchilada. Try the red or white sangria with your brunch entree or one of the cocktails on the brunch menu.


Amelia’s Bistro

When I visited Amelia’s Bistro for weekend brunch, I enjoyed the cornflake-crusted caramel brioche French toast.

I also recommend trying the bacon and granola pancakes, the chicken apple sausage and biscuits, or the brunch burger loaded with a fried egg and black forest ham. Enjoy a mimosa or bellini with your brunch selection!

The pub offers some breakfast favorites like pancakes and a Nutella crepe. Try one of the signature cocktails like the Dorrian’s Hurrican with multiple rums, pineapple juice, and grenadine.

When I visited Franklin Social, I enjoyed the bravas-style steak fries with garlic aioli and a spicy tomato sauce. The country ham benedict is also a tasty classic option for brunch.
