Kalamazoo, Michigan, also known as Paper City, is a small town that’s nice to stop by when you’re traveling through the state. It’s not too busy, and the hotel accommodations are nice if you need to take a break.

It was apparent that Rustica blends influences from Spain, Italy, France, and other European countries in their dishes. Their wine and beer selection is extensive also. Zooroona is a grill house that serves classic Middle Eastern fare. They’re located in the West Douglas neighborhood, and they’ve been a community staple for years. The decor was majestic and whimsical all at the same time. It was a festive environment, great for hanging with friends.

The food was elegantly prepared and presented. There seemed to be so much attention to detail with each dish. If you’re unfamiliar with the cuisine, you can always get the Zooroona Tapas. Located at the three corners of the Arcadia, Haymarket, and East End districts, you’ll find the fun and innovative Kalamazoo Beer Exchange. Right away, you’re drawn in by the unique setup of the restaurant, which has a stock exchange-like atmosphere.

Uniquely, the price of the beer is set on a supply and demand basis, which creates an ever-evolving happy hour. The food is just as dynamic as the beer, as this place serves a bunch of classics like burgers, fajita nachos, chili cheese fries, beer-battered fish, soups, and much more. In my opinion, this is the perfect hangout with friends or co-workers.

They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but be sure to make reservations for dinner. I couldn’t quite put a finger on their culinary style, and maybe this is the point. They served a little of everything, such as Sesame Ginger Salmon, Seared Scallops, Cider-Brined Chops, Fried Green Tomatoes, Mediterranean Feta, and many international delicacies.

The first thing that stood out to me was Ray Ray’s had Chicago decor all over the restaurant, making for a cheerful environment. They serve university students and anyone else that wants to come in for a casual and quick bite in a cozy environment. They’re right by the barbershop, so you can’t miss it.

It’s a nice barbecue restaurant serving Italian-style hot dogs and sandwiches. There’s a diverse menu with original creations and Chicago classics. The food was so full of flavor, and everything was cooked perfectly. I had the Capone burger with the Mac n cheese, which was excellent. I recommend you visit if you’re ever on campus.

Chic vibes, friendly service, and mouth-watering prime rib made this restaurant a 10/10 on my list of the best Kalamazoo restaurants. The food is made from scratch and creative as well. They have traditional-style pizzas as well as homemade sauces, sub sandwiches, and fresh pasta. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you feel your taste buds perk up from the smell of the fresh-baked bread and handmade pasta cooking. My favorite dish was the Inferno sub and the Erbelli’s favorite pizza, which had mozzarella, double pepperoni, double spicy capicola, and double sausage.
