Since 2002, Central BBQ has ranked among the best barbecue joints in Memphis. The meats are smoked with hickory and pecan woods and slow-cooked for hours on end. Craig Blondis and Roger Sapp, the founders of Central BBQ, met at a competition, and the idea for Central BBQ was initiated. As a result, the restaurant has appeared on many television shows and in various magazines. The downtown Memphis location offers seating in The Memphis Room, a 100-person dining area for a private party, and the Kiss My Grits venue that seats up to sixty people. The downtown restaurant also offers The Shack, which comfortably seats up to thirty folks. My favorite dish is the BBQ Pork Nachos but make sure you don’t skip out on the full slab of ribs!
