If you’re looking for something fun to do near the eastern point of the Mississippi River, be sure to stop by the Mall of Louisiana, Baton Rouge Zoo, or Highland Road Park Observatory.

Although Baton Rouge is known for its gumbo, oysters, crawfish, and other Creole and Cajun delicacies, many restaurants offer fantastic pizza options any food lover can enjoy.

This modern and minimalist destination serves pizzas with classic and specialty toppings to give pizza lovers with creative minds complete control of how their pies come out.

Before stopping by the LSU Golf Course, consider ordering one of their crafted pizzas if you don’t feel like customizing one.

I recommend their Pesto Pollo, Benny Blanco, Buffalo Chicken, or Cheeseburger pies. They also serve delicious craft calzones and salads if you prefer something else.

Next up on my list of the best places for pizza in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is Red Zeppelin Pizza, located on Perkins Road. 

If you’re looking for a hip and colorful place to enjoy a few slices of pizza, consider this one for a quick lunch or dinner.

Many of their specialty pies have music-themed names, making their menu stand out from your standard pizza spots at home.

After starting with their garlic bread and cheese sticks, I tried a slice of their Great Balls of Fire, Bayou-Que, Heartbreaker, and Mothership specialty pies.

You can also try their calzones, oven-roasted Po-Boys, or signature Zepp-wiches. Don’t forget to finish your night in style with a cold soda ice cream float for dessert.


Rotolo’s Pizzeria

You can find Rotolo’s Pizzeria in the Panache Plaza Shopping Center on Perkins Road and Millerville Road. 

This warm and welcoming restaurant is an excellent destination for taking your family out to dinner. Rotolo’s culinary team creates pizzas and entrees with homemade sauces and fresh ingredients to emphasize their bold flavors.

While I enjoy ordering a custom cheese and beef pizza or Chicken Parmesan on the weekends, I recommend not missing out on their Krewe, Bacon Cheeseburger, Muffuletta, or Garden Alfredo pies. In addition, every weekday during happy hour from 3 PM to 6 PM, you can get half-price starters and wine.

Nestled on Government Street, by Goodwind Park, stands Fleur-de-lis Cocktail Lounge, a casual eatery serving traditional Roman pizzas for families near and far.

Although it keeps its French lounge name, you can still bask in its charming atmosphere as you enjoy a slice with your favorite drinks.

Fleur-de-lis lets you choose between large or small pie sizes. In my opinion, their best pizza options are their Shrimp, Round The World, Hot Banana Pepper, and Italian Sausage pies. 

Stop by their bar for a cocktail or domestic or imported beer. Soft drinks, lemonade, and tea are also available for kids and anyone who prefers non-alcoholic beverages with their pizza.


Reginelli’s Pizzeria

Located on Jefferson Highway, near Mo’s Art Supply Baton Rouge, Reginelli’s Pizzeria is another contemporary restaurant serving quality pizza in Baton Rouge.

Reginelli’s is the best place to find Detroit-style pizza in Baton Rouge. I recommend their BBQ Shrimp or Ricotta pies.

They also offer baked pasta, sandwiches, customizable cheese pizzas and calzones, and a wide selection of hand-tossed specialty pies. If you follow a vegan or gluten-free lifestyle, consider ordering a pizza with a cauliflower crust.


Johnny’s Pizza House

Although I love ordering a custom Bacon and Cheddar pie, I recommend trying their BBQ Blast, Chicken Ranchero, Maui Wowie, or Pepperoni Power pies with BBQ wings or muffulettas on as a shareable side with the dipping sauces of your liking. If you prefer a custom pie, you can look at their online guide to the calorie count of their premium toppings.

Consider trying their Greek, Angry Bee, BBQ Chicken, or Cheese pizza if you want something flavorful and hot.

If you have room for dessert, try their Nutella Pizza. You can also build your own salad if you prefer greener meals.

If you’re looking for delicious pizza in Baton Rouge after spending the day at LSU Museum of Natural Science, City Slice on West Chimes Street might have enticing options for you. It has a contemporary and cozy aesthetic ideal for enjoying pizza and happy hour specials.

If you’re in the mood for a classic pie, consider their cheese or ground beef pies, but if you prefer something with more flair, order their Heisman, Poultry-Geist, or Fighting Tiger specialty pies.

I like ordering mozzarella sticks and boneless wings to share with my family at the end of the week. In addition, I recommend their tasty Baton Rouge beignets for dessert.

Isabella’s serves a wide selection of gourmet pizzas and other Italian dishes. I enjoyed their Shrimp Pesto, Sun-Dried Tomato, Chicken Florentine, and Four Seasons pies.

If you’re in the mood for treating your friends, consider ordering their Buffalo Wings or Mozzarella Sticks to share as you savor each bite of your slice.
