First up on my list of the top restaurants with private rooms that you should check out is Redbird, located on East 2nd Street in the Little Tokyo neighborhood. This lively and historic venue makes an excellent backdrop for sampling Chef Neil Fraser’s take on New American Cuisine. 

Redbird has seven private rooms on each of its four floors. Their largest private room, the West Room, has an outdoor balcony, seats up to 96 guests, and combines with their adjacent East Room, depending on your party size. I recommend trying their flavorful California sea bass with a Cardinal Punch cocktail.


Bavel

The next place I recommend for hosting your private parties is Bavel, a Middle Eastern restaurant located in the heart of Los Angeles’ Art District. You can find it on Mateo Street, minutes from Art District Park. Chefs Ori Menashe and Genevieve Gergis create dishes with authentic Middle Eastern flavors for guests to enjoy in a cozy setting.

In place of a private dining hall, they have a dining room for parties for up to 14 people and a covered patio for 26 guests. They also offer full or partial buyouts for private celebrations with over 26 guests, so be sure to sample their daily-changing wine list.

I also recommend sitting at their bar area, where you can enjoy their signature cocktails and get an excellent view of La Brea Avenue. My go-to entree is Chef Walter’s Prime Dry-Aged Ribeye.


Bestia

Located on East 7th Place, near the Los Angeles River, lies Bestia. This trendy Italian restaurant has a contemporary yet industrialized aesthetic, giving patrons a warm setting to enjoy their food during any private dining event. Chefs Ori and Genevieve’s dishes also gained recognition and awards from LA Weekly and The LA Times.

Bestia offers the best roast lamb and specialty pizza dishes in the Arts District. Their large covered and heated outdoor terrace is suitable for quieter parties of up to 25 people. This semi-private area has an excellent view of the river, no matter what the weather’s like.

It has a rustic yet refined atmosphere that anyone can enjoy at any time of the day. My favorite centerpieces are the private rooms’ brick fireplaces. Each of their private evening dining rooms is available for up to 80 guests.

If you’re looking for unique menu options, like corned beef platters and prime rib, you can choose between several private party menus or customize one with the chefs. They also offer seasonal private whisky tasting experiences every Sunday and Wednesday through Friday.

Crossroads Kitchen offers several fresh vegan menu items crafted by Executive Chef Scot Jones. In my opinion, their best dishes are Eggplant Filet, Stuffed Onion Parsnip Gratin, Squash Anolini, and Spiced Chickpeas. Don’t forget to check out their list of wines, spirits, and cocktails!

Another place I recommend for a refined private dining experience is The Little Door, found on West 3rd Street in the West Hollywood neighborhood. Enjoy seasonal French fare during your business meeting in one of their four refined private rooms: The Blue Room, Winter Garden, Garden Patio, or Piano Room. The consistent traces of blue on their walls and furniture give these spaces a regal and relaxing atmosphere.

I recommend sampling their Herb-Crusted Rack of Lamb, Couscous Royale, King Mushroom Rice, or Seared Sea Bass with seared leeks on the side. My favorite cocktails are their Spiced Corazon, Casanova, and Seasonal Rhubarb.

Nestled in Santa Monica’s Fairmont Miramar Hotel, overlooking Wilshire Boulevard, FIG is one of the city’s best restaurants for special occasions for anyone interested in Southern California cuisine. Executive Chef Jason Prendergast uses traditional French cooking methods to create modern takes on classic favorites as you enjoy them in a cozy setting.

FIG’s private dining room is open for up to 20 guests, making it an ideal option for family birthdays or business meetings. If you’re in the mood for a festive meal, try their Maine Lobster Cobb, Mary’s Half Roasted Chicken, Cacio e Pepe, or Roasted Button Mushrooms. They also offer an annual Thanksgiving menu.

Another restaurant I recommend booking if you find yourself around Melrose Avenue is the upscale Osteria Mozza. You can find it just east of the Golden Apple Comics store. They offer private dining in their Primo Ministro Room, where you can enjoy dinner with up to 22 guests at a long table. You can also access their adjoining patio if you reserve a partial buyout for your celebration.

Osteria Mozza has an extensive selection of Italian dishes and wines. I recommend trying their Goat Cheese Ravioli, Grilled Yellowtail, or Crispy Duck Confit. Finish your celebration in style with their pumpkin gelato pie dessert.


Cassia

Cassia is a Southeast Asian restaurant located on 7th Street in Santa Monica. This casual eatery serves upscale fare and offers several options for private dining. Besides their rooms by the back kitchen and wine room, they also offer private patio dining. The Converted Patio offers the most eating and standing reception capacities, making it ideal for anniversary parties or wedding receptions.

If you’re in the mood for something different, order their Beef Rendang, Spicy Minced Duck Dan Dan Noodles, or Kon Loh Mee. I also recommend trying their Red Bean Ice Cream if you want to treat yourself to dessert.

If you’re having trouble finding private vegan dining options in Los Angeles’ Venice neighborhood, look no further than Plant Food + Wine on Abbot Kinney Boulevard. This minimalist and upscale restaurant has four private rooms for special events: two indoor rooms, a wine room surrounded by greenery, and a garden patio.

In my opinion, their best vegan dishes are Beet Carpaccio, Heirloom Tomato & Zucchini Lasagne, Gnocchi, and Almond Udon. Additionally, you should sample their basil lemonade or Passion of the Spice cocktail to give your meal a flavor burst. They also offer special menu options on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve.


Gwen

You can find Gwen on Sunset Boulevard, near the iconic Crossroads of the World. This fine dining establishment is an excellent option for sampling their flavorful tasting menus. Their wine room accommodates 30 to 50 guests, while their main private dining room is suitable for 10 to 20 guests. They also offer patio seating.

As far as menu options go, you can choose between a four-course, five-course, or six-course pre-fixe menu. My favorites are their Goat Cheese Ravioli, Josper Griller Swordfish, and Yellowtail Crudo. If you want to enjoy their drinks, ask about their Full Event Open Bar or wine pairings.


Esters Wine Shop & Bar

Right in the heart of downtown Santa Monica, near the Fire Department Station 1 on 7th Street, lies Esters Wine Shop & Bar, a stylish restaurant serving seasonal French dishes and over 250 wine selections. Their private indoor and outdoor tables are ideal for small parties up to 16, while their entire outdoor patio is ideal for 80 guests at max. They also offer virtual wine tastings via Zoom.

Esters offers several small plates for any gathering, including meats and cheese à la carte. I recommend booking your business dinner here and ordering their smoked kielbasa, grilled cheese, or mushroom medley.

The next entry on my list of chic restaurants with private dining in Los Angeles is Cecconi’s West Hollywood on Melrose Avenue. Their Venetian-style pasta and seafood are bound to make any wedding reception or anniversary special.

Their private Butterfly Room has a breathtaking heart-shaped butterfly painting and crystal chandelier, giving the room extra elegance as you dine. If you have a large party, it can have a capacity of 32 guests. If you plan on a date for two, it has a private curtain so you can enjoy your Bucatini or Spaghetti with lobster without any interruptions. They also offer traditional and vegan Thanksgiving menus.


Drago Centro

Dragon Centro on Flower Street, near Maguire Gardens,  is another refined Italian restaurant that I recommend for private dining in Los Angeles. Executive Chef Celestino Drago creates enticing Italian and Sicilian dishes for a sophisticated night out in the city’s bustling Financial District.

Their Vault Room has two television screens with enhanced audio if you want to plan a business meeting or sports celebration. If you prefer a more scenic view, rent out their lush Garden Room or contemporary Glass Box. Their Flower Room seats 10 to 16 guests if you prefer a more traditional dining setting when enjoying their signature spaghetti or risotto.


The Eveleigh

The Eveleigh is a popular rustic restaurant located on Sunset Boulevard, in the heart of West Hollywood. I enjoy hosting private parties at this venue because of its view of the city, open-air roof, and green foliage. They offer two private dining areas to choose from: the Front Garden Patio or Back Patio. They make excellent settings for your corporate or social luncheons.

If you plan on reserving these spots for your party, they offer several mouth-watering American and European lunch and dinner options. My favorites are their Pizza Bianco, Dungeness Crab Pasta, and Crispy Chicken Tenders, paired with a Unicorn Juice cocktail.


Tallula’s Restaurant

Next up is Tallula’s Restaurant, a Mexican eatery mixed with Southern California flavors nestled on Entrada Drive, overlooking Rustic Creek. The restaurant’s rustic atmosphere is a great party setting for more laid-back events. They have a private dining room, a partial patio, and a semi-private bar if you prefer indoor and outdoor mingling.

Tallula’s also offers several private family-style dining menu options when booking your events: a buffet-style Taco Party, Five-Course Dinner, or Four-Course Brunch or Lunch. Keep in mind that the cost per person can vary based on your dining space. In my opinion, they serve the best gluten-free fajitas.


Craft Los Angeles

You can find Craft Los Angeles inside of the Century Park Hotel overlooking Constellation Boulevard. This sleek and elegant New American restaurant has three private dining areas where you can enjoy Chef Tom Colicchio’s best dishes. Many people love coming here for a private dining experience, making it one of the best stops in Los Angeles’ Century City neighborhood for seafood and steakhouse favorites.

The main dining hall has room for 140 to 200 guests, depending on your party’s style. The private dining room is the best option for personal celebrations, such as wedding receptions or graduation parties. They also have a chic patio for open-air dining. 


Patina Restaurant

Last but not least is A.O.C., located on the corner of West 3rd Street and North George Burns Road. This upscale wine bar and restaurant is the perfect place for partying in West Hollywood. They have an extensive wine list and offer many delectable Californian-French small plates for any occasion.

They have an upstairs private dining room suitable for parties with up to 42 guests. In my opinion, their best menu options are Spanish Fried Chicken, Hanger Steak, and Grilled Market Fish. They also offer shareable dessert platters for anyone at your party looking for something sweet after their meal.
