Wichita is a well-populated city in south-central Kansas that has much to offer than some people may think.

Wichita is known as the birthplace of both Pizza Hut and White Castle, and, no offense, they offer much better food than that!
I visited this hip city that balances old-fashioned brick buildings with new modern shops and stores. And I was on the hunt for the best brunch in Wichita.
From classic breakfast sandwiches to inventive sweet dishes like pop tarts, I enjoyed quite the foodie adventure.

If you’re looking for a laidback breakfast spot with tasty food and generous servings, it’s hard to find something better than Doo-Dah. The cute diner is a staple restaurant in downtown Wichita, always full of locals and tourists.
The restaurant always looks spotless, which is quite a feat considering the plethora of college-aged visitors and young kids.
What can I say to convince you to get their corned beef hash? It was large, crispy chunks of beef mixed with peppers, onions, and soft potatoes.
I had two stunning sunnyside eggs on top and fully took advantage of their rich and spicy green chili sauce.
The entire plate was mouth-watering and generously portioned, leaving me with a full belly and happy tastebuds.

The servers were so attentive and lovely, and I recommend this place to anyone visiting or living in Wichita.
Newport Grill is in the lovely neighborhood of Rockhurst just northeast of central Wichita. So it’s an ideal restaurant to visit before or after a day of shopping around the neighborhood.
The omelet was delicious, but the Bloody Mary was even better. I got the Basil Bloody Mary because it was intriguing, and it wound up being incredible.
It had house-infused basil vodka, house-made bloody mary mix, basil salt rim, bleu cheese olive, and lime, everything you could want!

Wine Dive is a beautiful restaurant that serves a delicious brunch menu. Located right between Crown Heights South and Crown Heights, it is in a quiet area with lots of shops and restaurants you can visit.
While their specialty is pairing great food with even better wine, they also know what they’re doing when it comes to eggs.
I had their classic eggs Benedict which exceeded my expectations in both taste and presentation. The Hollandaise was salty and silky, and the eggs were perfectly gooey on the inside.
The food was wonderful, but the real star of the show was the extravagant Bloody Mary bar. I highly recommend their Cajun Salt rim! So for your next friends or family brunch, this place will satisfy everyone!

Homegrown Wichita is a fantastic brunch restaurant with three locations in Wichita, Kansas. I visited the location off of Bradley Fair Parkway in a small shopping center.
Yes, of course, I went shopping after! But the highlight of my day was this stylish brunch with a creative and distinct menu.
Sometimes brunch can be repetitive, eggs, bacon, toast, and so on. But Homegrown Wichita mixes it up with items like their Red Velvet Pancakes, Brunch Chili, and Pork and Eggs, to name a few. I decided to be adventurous and try their Nutella Pop Tart, which was heavenly.

Located in the heart of downtown Wichita just a block away from the Orpheum Theater, Siena Tuscan Steakhouse is an upscale spot to grab a hearty brunch with your friends or family.
I don’t recommend stopping by this place in sweatpants and a hoodie, as you’ll find yourself quite out of place.
The service and food are both impeccable. My waiter, Josh, was an angel among men, offering knowledge on the menu as well as the neighborhood. I kept it simple because this place is classy and ordered their buttermilk waffles with a side of bacon.
The waffles were fluffy with a strong vanilla flavor and served with melted butter and warm syrup, truly a pleasure with every bite, as was the bacon.

Livingston’s Diner is great for a quick brunch but certainly doesn’t reinvent the wheel. They serve traditional American breakfast items and do not have any seasonal items or specials, so you can expect consistency from this spot.
The restaurant is super family-friendly, so great for the kiddos. I got their standard breakfast, and everything was done well, but then I ordered a slice of pie.
Holy moly, their pie is life-changing! I tried their rhubarb pie and immediately died and went to heaven. You cannot eat at Livingston’s without enjoying a slice of pie, trust me.

The bar has a warm feeling from the moment you walk in, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. I ordered their crab cake Benedict which was a gorgeous plate.
The Hollandaise was a bright yellow and full of flavor. And the crab cakes were overflowing with crab meat, so what more can you ask for?

Their brunch menu is limited, but I got their breakfast sandwich which was classic and delicious.
The sandwich came on a plain bagel (per my request) with an over-medium egg, pepper jack cheese, and some green hot sauce.

The place has a friendly midwestern vibe that you can’t find anywhere, but Kansas and the staff welcome you with smiles.
I sat on an old bar stool and ordered a classic breakfast with potatoes, sausage, eggs, and wheat toast. Everything was full of flavor and super yummy, but the highlight of my meal was the vanilla milkshake.
It was so vanilla-y and creamy without being too watery or too thick. And they give you the extra in a metal cup which is my favorite!

The Copper Oven Cafe is a charming little shop northwest of central Wichita just over the Little Arkansas River. This spot is my idea of a lowkey breakfast with amazing flavors and delightful service.
There is nothing complicated about their menu. It’s just good food in a nice restaurant, perfect for families, couples, solo diners, and everything in between.
I was craving a sandwich, so of course, I got one of their incredible breakfast sandwiches called the Hole in One, and oh boy was it!
It came on thick ciabatta bread with bacon, eggs, cheddar cheese, roasted red peppers, and onions. None of this sounds revolutionary, but it all came together so perfectly, and I could’ve eaten two.

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the one million beer taps behind the bar and the laughter in the air. You immediately feel welcome and happy to be there, and that’s before they serve you any alcohol.
I ordered their very famous Breakfast Haystack which is a heaping plate filled with a country sausage patty, two eggs, crispy French fries, and yummy gravy on top of homemade biscuits. If you’re hungry, the haystack is a great meal that seems to be a staple at this laidback bar.

No fancy decor or super modern style, but excellent food and delightful people. So grab a brown leather booth and get ready for a tasty breakfast.
When I walked into this place, I was hungry, and I told my darling waitress, Sharon, this, and she promptly recommended the Loaded Shoe. Bless Sharon because this was what I needed.
A massive bowl with biscuits, cheddar cheese, crispy hashbrowns, and two over-easy eggs drenched in savory sausage gravy. I could barely walk to my car, but it was worth it.

I ordered their Huevos Rancheros that had the ideal spiciness and left me super full. The brunch menu is limited, but all dishes are cooked perfectly.
My friend thoroughly enjoyed the French toast piled high with rich whipped cream and fresh berries.

Just a short drive from city hall and a few steps from Union Station, Public is a trendy brunch and dinner spot for young professionals in the area.
The restaurant has an eclectic, dim atmosphere perfect for an intimate breakfast or brunch date with a friend.
First off, they have $5 mimosas at their Sunday brunch, so that’s likely the only reason you need to visit. But if you want one more, let me tell you about my meal.
I got their biscuits and gravy, because when in Kansas, I think I found my new favorite breakfast. The gravy is smoked chicken and leek for a distinct flavor poured over cheddar and chive biscuits.
Kansas is one of the best cities in America for tasty food and friendly midwestern service. While many people think of New York, Boston, or Vegas when they think of incredible American cuisine, it’s time we all add Wichita to that last!
