Rightfully taking the number one spot on my list is a place called Cowford Chophouse. What used to be a bank built in 1902 now houses some of the finest cuts of steak money can buy. Very few places around serve actual A-5 wagyu beef. This delicacy is unlike any other kind of meat in the world and it simply melts in your mouth like butter. They also have countless other cuts to choose from like my personal favorite, the mighty porterhouse. Check out Cowford Chophouse on the corner of East Bay Street and Ocean street, right inside the same historic building as the 1904 Music Hall and the Florida Theatre.

Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse is a name that you may recognize from some of my previous lists, so you already know it’s a great place to eat, but they do steak on another level. Everything is served rodizio style here at Terra Gaucha alongside an amazing salad bar. All you do is pay a flat fee, sit back, and they will serve you as much steak as you can possibly eat, carved from a massive skewer, hot off the grill, right at your tableside. Look for Terra Gaucha off of Southside Boulevard in the same plaza as the Cinemark Tinseltown and XD movie theater. It’s perfect for dinner and a movie in Jacksonville.

Up next is Salento Steakhouse, a Colombian restaurant where you can really relax and enjoy your steak without any of the frills that come with some of the more posh establishments. They have chops galore here at Salento. There are so many different cuts of meat to choose from that it may take a minute before you decide on just one. I highly recommend either the cowboy steak or the churrasco Colombiano. You can find Salento inside the Mandarin Central Shopping Center off of Old St. Augustine Road, right next to Java Game Haus Cafe and behind the CVS.

III Forks Steakhouse tips the scales towards the higher end of things. This place is refined and sophisticated, not necessarily a place to bring the children, but definitely, a place to go for a romantic night out like an anniversary. You can get everything from USDA Prime to American wagyu steak and even some specialty cuts like a bone-in rib eye that’s been aged for up to 42 days! You’d be hard-pressed to find a more tender cut of meat than something like that. III Forks Steakhouse is located over off of Tapestry Park Circle inside the Tapestry Park shopping mall, so it’s perfect for a nice dinner after a shopping spree.

Right inside the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront hotel is a resplendent steakhouse called Morton’s The Steakhouse that will honestly blow you away. They only serve USDA Prime steak here at Morton’s, so every single cut is literally the highest quality that it can be. If that wasn’t enough, though, they take it a step further by aging them to remove all moisture, ensuring a perfectly-seared crust and juicy center. The atmosphere is all part of the experience here at Morton’s, too. The whole place has a vintage feel of an old-school nightclub that’s both elegant and inviting at the same time.

Next up is a place called Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse located off of Town Center Parkway inside the St. Johns Town Center, right in front of the Hyatt Place Jacksonville / St. Johns Town Center. This is another upscale churrascaria that serves an all-you-can-eat menu full of delicious meats that are brought to you and carved at your table. They also feature a massive salad bar for anyone in search of some vegetables to accompany their steak. There are more than 10 cuts of meat to choose from that will be brought to you in unlimited amounts, including picanha, filet mignon, beef ribs, rib eye, and so much more. Be sure to come on an empty stomach!

ChopHouse Thirteen is another one of the best places to get steak in Jacksonville, especially if you’re in the mood for some surf n turf. You can choose between either the 6-ounce or the 8-ounce filet and lobster tail for the ultimate luxury combo. It’s far and away my most recommended dish on their menu. Look for ChopHouse Thirteen over off of San Jose Boulevard inside The Gates of Old Mandarin shopping mall, right next to Beach Diner Mandarin and Fuji Sushi 3, directly across Mandarin Road from the Publix Supermarket at Mandarin Oaks Shopping Center.

Right next to DOMU and MISSION BBQ off of Town Center Parkway in Jacksonville is a place called Firebirds Wood Fired Grill and they have some of the most delicious steaks in the area, as well as a fantastic brunch menu. The wood-fired steaks here are only the beginning, but they’re definitely a great place to start. I recommend either the bleu cheese filet or the chile-rubbed Delmonico for a little something different. You can also enhance your steak by adding other tasty elements to it like wood-grilled shrimp, a ½-pound lobster tail, or even a divine brandy peppercorn sauce which is what I always order.

It’s hard to make a list of Jacksonville’s best steakhouses without including the tried-and-true classic, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, perfect for a romantic steak dinner for two or even private dining. You know the name and you know exactly what you’re getting when you step into this famous steakhouse, and you rarely leave disappointed. Some of my favorite things to order from Ruth’s Chris are the bone-in New York strip and the Prime porterhouse. It’s usually incredibly hard for me to pick between the two because they’re both so magnificent. Head on down to Ruth’s Chris inside the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Jacksonville Riverfront, right next to the Southbank Riverwalk and across the street from Friendship Fountain.

Going out to dinner at a hibachi restaurant is one of most pleasant ways to spend an evening, in my opinion. For that reason, I simply had to include Otaki Japanese Steakhouse, not to mention the food being absolutely phenomenal, including the sushi! Otaki is easy to find over on Gate Parkway, just off of East Beltway 295, directly across from the IKEA store. I love this place because you can get seafood and steak combos like steak and scallops or steak and shrimp that can even be upgraded to filet mignon. I highly recommend the Emperor Dinner which consists of steak, scallops, filet, and lobster all on one plate.

The Capital Grille is known far and wide, and for good reason. They are easily one of the top steakhouses near Jacksonville, Florida, if you ask me, and I think everyone needs to take a visit here when they’re craving steak. They’re located inside the St. Johns Town Center off of Big Island Drive, right near some other great stores like Dillard’s and Nordstrom Rack. A great location for dinner after some serious shopping. When you get to The Capital Grille, be sure to peruse the steak selection, just try not to let your jaw hit the floor. The dry-aged New York strip is my absolute favorite and my highest-recommended dish, but the ribeye is a very close second.

Wrapping up my list of steakhouses is a place we all know and love, LongHorn Steakhouse. This place makes a delicious steak dinner more affordable than some other places I’ve mentioned, with no sacrifice in quality. You can get just about any cut you can think of here at LongHorn. They’ve got prime rib, boneless ribeye, bone-in ribeye, porterhouse, T-bone, and even more. I always have a hard time deciding between the prime rib and the T-bone, but I recommend either one. LongHorn has many locations throughout Jacksonville which is another reason why I think it’s such a great place for steak. Be sure to check them out the next time you’re in town, you won’t be sorry!
