The Best Keto Chick-Fil-A Items for Low-Carb Diets

Keep with your keto diet with these keto friendly Chick-Fil-A orders.

When you think of a fast-food establishment with quality keto items, Chick-fil-A probably does not come to mind.

Crowds outside the new Chick-Fil-A fast food restaurant in New York

I know it didn’t for me until I took a closer look at their menu and realized that they don’t just make the chicken they have become famous for. The truth is that the restaurant is a good choice for people looking to maintain a healthy keto diet.

The menu features a wide variety of keto-friendly items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so you don’t have to worry about not having options at certain times of the day.

Some of the items, like the Cobb Salad, for example, offer a good amount of customizability by letting you choose your choice of protein. That way, you can get exactly what you want.

Keto Options at Chick-Fil-A

Below is my list of the best keto Chick-fil-A items you can get right now.

As you can see, there is a solid amount of variety, so let’s dive into the specifics of each entry on the list!

Egg White Grill

The Egg White Grill features a healthy serving of grilled chicken, egg whites, and American cheese, topped off with a toasted multigrain English muffin.

If you aren’t a fan of English muffins like me, you can swap it out for a buttered biscuit, though you do have to pay a small fee for this change.

I don’t care too much for the Egg White Grill because egg whites have never been something I enjoy.

That said, this is Chick-fil-A’s only menu item that predominantly features egg whites, so it certainly is suitable for those looking for keto items.

Bacon Egg & Cheese Biscuit

The Bacon Egg & Cheese Biscuit is one of the staple items that you can find on Chick-fil-A’s menu.

It comes with a folded egg and cheese on top of smoked applewood bacon strips, making for a flavorful combination between two halves of a buttermilk biscuit.

You can also choose to add Colby Jack and Pepper Jack cheese if you don’t like American cheese.

I prefer this item over the Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit because the bacon always seems to taste more flavorful than the sausage, but you certainly cannot go wrong with either option.

Grilled Nuggets

Compared to the classic Chick-fil-A Nuggets with 250 calories per entrée, the Grilled Nuggets are only 130 calories per entrée, making these small boneless pieces of chicken as healthy as they are flavorful!

I usually go for the standard 8 count, but you can also get a 5 count or 12 count option if you want fewer or more nuggets.

For sauces that pair well with the Grilled Nuggets, I recommend either barbecue sauce or Chick-fil-A sauce because you can’t go wrong with either of those.

The honey mustard sauce and honey roasted BBQ sauce are also great options.

Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit

The Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit is pretty much the same as the Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit.

The only difference between the two is the choice of protein, so which one you like more is only a matter of your preferred protein.

I would not recommend using any sauces for this item, as I don’t find any to pair exceptionally well with the flavor of the biscuits, eggs, and cheese.

If anything, you can try either grape or strawberry jam. Both of those add some good flavor without being overpowering to the point where you can’t fully appreciate the taste of everything else.

Grilled Chicken Club (no bun)

The Grilled Chicken Club with no bun is a nutritious choice that comes with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, bacon, and your choice of Colby Jack, Pepper Jack, or American cheese.

It also comes with honey-roasted BBQ sauce on the side.

The taste of the grilled chicken club is always juicier to me than the grilled nuggets.

I don’t know if the meat Chick-fil-A uses for the club is different from the one for the nuggets, but it’s always noticeably better.

For that reason alone, I strongly recommend this item as one of the best on the menu for chicken.

Cobb Salad with Grilled Chicken

I would say that Chick-fil-A is not at all known for its salads, and it’s quite a shame that that’s the case because many of their salads are just as good as their sandwiches.

The Cobb Salad with Grilled Chicken, in particular, is the best of the salads in my opinion.

With this salad, you have various options for what you get alongside the salad.

These options include no chicken, nuggets, grilled nuggets, spicy grilled filet, regular grilled fillet, Chick-fil-A filet, chicken strips.

There’s a little something for everyone, and that makes the Cobb Salad one of, if not, the most flexible items on the menu, but it’s most healthy with grilled chicken.

Hash Brown Scramble Bowl w/ Sausage

You can order the Hash Brown Scramble Bowl with your choice of sausage, nuggets, or grilled filet.

You can also order it without any hash browns. I recommend the sausage because it pairs best with the taste of the hash browns and scrambled eggs as a breakfast dish.

The dish also comes with salsa on the side, which helps to spice things up a bit.

I would have to rate this one the highest out of all the breakfast options purely because of how much I enjoy hash browns.

You also get a bigger serving with the Hash Brown Scramble Bowl than you do with the biscuit sandwiches, which is another thing to consider.

However, if you aren’t a fan of hash browns, this one might not be for you.

Side Salad

The side salad does not come with any chicken. It’s all about the greens and vegetables, as it has mixed greens, grape tomatoes, red bell peppers, and Monetary Jack and Cheddar cheeses.

The best thing about the Side Salad is that it is the best side from a health standpoint.

Not only that, but it’s also always fresh every time I order it.

I don’t think I have ever had one wilted piece of lettuce or aged tomato in any Side Salad I’ve ordered from any Chick-fil-A. It’s always fresh, making it a great complimentary piece to any entree.

Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing

The Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing brings a twist to the original flavor of ranch dressing, and while it isn’t for everyone, I do recommend you give it a try to see if you are a fan of the taste.

I’ll also say that the Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing is excellent on both the Side Salad and the Cobb Salad with Grilled Chicken.

I have yet to try it on the Spicy Southwest Salad and Market Salad, but I suspect it is just as good on both of those as well.

Creamy Salsa Dressing

If the Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing winds up not being your cup of tea, the Creamy Salsa Dressing is a good alternative, especially if you’re looking for more of a Southwest tangy style flavor to add to any of Chick-fil-A’s fresh salads.

The Creamy Salsa Dressing features cumin, hot peppers, tomatoes, and garlic, so expect to taste a slight kick with this dressing.

It’s nothing overly strong, but if you aren’t big on a bit of heat, you may not find this one to be for your taste buds.

Personally, it adds just enough of a kick to the Cobb Salad with Grilled Chicken, so that’s the salad I usually get it with.

Garden Herb Ranch Dressing

Unlike the previous two dressings, the Garden Herb Ranch Dressing is the closest thing you’ll find to a traditional ranch taste at Chick-fil-A.

It is smooth, creamy, and does everything you would expect a ranch dressing to do from a flavor standpoint. While it does not have anything that particularly makes it stand out, its simplicity is its biggest draw.

Not everyone wants a dressing that has a lot going on from a flavor perspective.

Even I don’t want that every time I have dressing, which is why I’ll sometimes go for the Garden Herb Ranch Dressing if I want something lighter to compliment one of Chick-fil-A’s salads.

Kale Crunch Side

The Kale Crunch Side is an excellent little option that you can get if you aren’t looking for a regular-sized side to compliment your entrée or breakfast.

This side comes with a bowl full of curly kale and green cabbage coated with an Apple Cider and Dijon Mustard vinaigrette.

The salty roasted almonds on top bring the whole thing together.

Final Thoughts

Chick-fil-A may not stand as the best fast-food restaurant to go to if you’re looking for good keto items, but it’s certainly a more than viable option. Especially if you’re on a lunch break and only have time to stop and get something quick.

There isn’t a single entry on the list that I didn’t find both tasty and filling, so I strongly encourage you to try as many different items as possible. Maybe even try all of them if you get enough opportunities.

I think you will find yourself pleasantly surprised by the level of quality each item has, and Chick-fil-A will become one of your favorite fast-food restaurants for keto-friendly options like it did for me!
