Top 10 Ice Cream Sandwich Brands for a Sweet Treat

Ice cream is a favorite treat among adults and children alike due to its creamy texture and a wide variety of sweet flavors, and one of my favorite treats is an ice cream sandwich.

Sweet Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich Dessert

Ice cream sandwiches are one of the popular types of ice cream, as they add a tasty cookie or cake-like outer shell to enjoy with the creamy ice cream inside.

You can find a variety of ice cream sandwiches at ice cream trucks and your local grocery store to help cool off in the heat or simply satisfy your sweet tooth.

Here are some of the best ice cream sandwiches you should try on your next ice cream run.

Klondike Classic Vanilla Sandwich

Klondike’s classic vanilla ice cream sandwiches offer the familiar look and taste of an ice cream sandwich from your childhood.

The vanilla sandwich has a sizable square block of vanilla ice sandwiched between two soft chocolate wafers. However, they feel more like thin chocolate cake slices.

These Klondike sandwiches are kosher and nut-free, offering a tasty treat for most people.

The cows they use for the milk and cream within the ice cream aren’t given artificial growth hormones, keeping the dairy natural.

These are one of my favorites due to their simplicity and delicious flavor. Chocolate and vanilla make the perfect combination when it comes to desserts.

Blue Bunny Simply Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches

Blue Bunny offers a variety of small and tasty ice cream treats, with their simple vanilla sandwiches being one of their popular options.

Similar to the Klondike sandwich, Blue Bunny’s vanilla ice cream sandwich has a block of sweet vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate wafers.

The chocolate wafers on these ice cream sandwiches seem to be slightly thicker when compared to other sandwiches.

I generally like this because it almost feels like a tiny ice cream cake.

Blue Bunny uses dairy sourced from local farms near their ice cream factories to give their ice cream products a fresh taste.

Nestle Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches

You’re probably familiar with Nestle, as they offer plenty of chocolate products.

However, they also have a small variety of ice cream products, including their classic vanilla ice cream sandwiches. They offer these tasty classics as singles, six counts, and 24 counts.

Nestle offers a rectangular-shaped brick of creamy vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate wafers.

They don’t use any artificial colorings or flavors in their ice cream sandwiches, so you expect to get naturally-made ingredients in your frosty treat.

I love these, as I used to eat this brand as a child, so they’re very nostalgic.

Fat Boy Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches

Fat Boy offers a few different ice cream products, including their vanilla ice cream sandwiches, where they offer six, 12, and 18 counts.

I feel like these ice cream sandwiches offer a large quantity of ice cream compared to others, as the square brick is pretty thick.

It’s a little hard to fit in your mouth, but that doesn’t stop me from eating it.

The thick brick of vanilla ice cream sits between two square chocolate wafers, creating the classic treat you know and love.

Fat Boy uses fresh whole milk as their first ingredient in these sandwiches, ensuring you get the best dairy possible.

Skinny Cow Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches

If you’re looking for a lighter but still delicious ice cream sandwich, Skinny Cow offers a twist on the vanilla ice cream sandwich that you’re used to.

These low-calorie ice cream treats use a swirl technique to create their circular vanilla ice-cream brick.

Then they sandwich it between two circular chocolate wafers.

Although they might be lighter and have a lower fat content than most ice cream sandwiches, I still enjoy these ice cream sandwiches from time to time, and I don’t think they lack flavor at all.

They make a great dessert after a filling meal, as they don’t push you overboard and satisfy your sweet tooth.

Annie’s Organic Vanilla Ice Cream Mini Sandwiches

Another healthier ice cream sandwich alternative is Annie’s organic vanilla ice cream sandwiches.

Annie’s is a 100% USDA-organic brand and only offers the best of the best when it comes to ingredients.

Their vanilla ice cream sandwiches don’t use artificial colors or flavorings and use non-GMO organic ingredients without pesticide usage.

Annie’s mini organic vanilla ice cream sandwiches can give you the perfect sweet tooth satisfaction but at half the size of normal ice cream sandwiches.

The company sandwiches its little rectangular blocks of organic vanilla ice cream between two organic chocolate wafers.

I love the taste of these and the little bunny-shaped stamp on each wafer.

Friendly’s Vanilla Friendwich

Friendly’s is a popular restaurant, brand, and ice cream spot throughout the United States since 1935, but their locations are now scarce.

Luckily, their ice cream products are still on the market, including their famous vanilla friendwich.

They feature two long rectangular chocolate wafers, which sandwich a thin rectangular brick of vanilla ice cream.

With Friendly’s locations declining, I enjoy having these ice cream sandwiches at home, as it allows me to enjoy their ice cream without going to the restaurant.

Similar to their other ice cream bars, you can only get these treats in a six-pack.

So Delicious Vanilla Bean Sandwiches

If you want to enjoy an ice cream sandwich without lactose or general dairy, So Delicious is an option, as all their products are dairy-free.

So Delicious focuses heavily on coconut milk in their ice cream and dairy products, such as their vanilla bean ice cream sandwiches. These sandwiches are also vegan and use non-GMO ingredients.

So Delicious ice cream sandwiches are on the smaller side, but they pack a lot of flavor into them with organic coconut milk and natural vanilla bean.

They sandwich their coconut milk and vanilla ice cream between two chocolate wafers, creating the perfect flavor combination. I enjoy the little hint of coconut, and it’s hard to tell they are dairy-free.

Alden’s Organic Old-School Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich

Another organic ice cream sandwich option includes Alden’s organic old-school vanilla ice cream sandwiches, which are USDA-certified organic and use non-GMO ingredients.

They have single sandwiches and boxes of six available.

Alden’s uses the following types of ingredients:

  • Nothing artificial
  • No high-fructose corn syrup
  • No antibiotics
  • Kosher dairy

Their rectangular bricks of organic Oregon-made ice cream are between two chocolate wafers, making the perfect organic version of an ice cream sandwich.

Some people think organic tastes different, but these ice cream sandwiches taste the same as non-organic ice cream sandwiches I’ve had.

Great Value Vanilla Flavored Ice Cream Sandwiches

Walmart offers a cheaper version of the vanilla ice cream sandwich if you don’t want to spend extra money for a brand name.

Their brand, Great Value, has 12 packs of vanilla-flavored ice cream sandwiches available at all Walmart stores.

They use similar ingredients to brand names, so your tastebuds will still be happy with the flavor.

Great Value uses vanilla-flavored ice cream rectangles and sandwiches them between two chocolate-flavored soft wafers.

I think the ice cream is a little richer compared to others, as they use buttermilk in their recipe.

They also use kosher dairy, making these a good dessert for people who rely on kosher diets.
