When you think of Disneyland, what comes to mind? Chances are you’re thinking about all the rides, shows, parades, and huge fireworks displays – but there’s also great Disneyland food to enjoy.
Some of your earliest memories may be of meeting the characters from your favorite films while in the park with your family.
But Disneyland has much to offer besides fun things to do and see. Some of the best food I have ever had has come from Disneyland’s restaurants, and food stands.
Here are some of the best Disneyland foods you should try on your next visit.
Disneyland Food

Churros
Disneyland brings a taste of Spain to you through one of its most popular snacks, the churro.
They are found in multiple places throughout the park. It is an easy food to eat while rushing between attractions.
I always like trying seasonal flavors, like the Pink Coconut Churro they have during the holidays.
Matterhorn Macaroon
Matterhorn Macaroons are an iconic snack named after the Matterhorn, one of the most famous rides in Disneyland’s history.
This treat is a delicious coconut macaroon cookie shaped like the Matterhorn mountain.
Covered in creamy, gooey icing, it will make you want to eat more than one. You can pick these up at the Jolly Holiday Bakery on Main Street, USA.
You probably won’t be able to buy enough to last until your next trip, but at least get enough to last all the way home.
Mickey Beignets
If you have ever been to New Orleans, you know that one of their signature breakfast foods is the beignet.
A warm, soft sweet roll covered in powdered sugar, they are a great snack to eat at an outdoor cafe while you watch the people pass by.
You can get the same experience in Disneyland, but their beignets are distinctly Mickey-shaped.
Monte Cristo Sandwich
Another taste of New Orleans that Disneyland has perfected is the Monte Cristo.
I love this sandwich, and I look for it at nearly every restaurant I eat in.
Disneyland got it right with this ham, turkey, and cheese sandwich that has been deep-fried and covered in powdered sugar.
Served with a berry compote, it is stick-to-your-ribs good!
Not So Little Chicken Sandwich
If you are a Marvel fan, you’ll want to check out Hank Pym’s newest experiment at the Pym Test Kitchen.
He zapped a fried chicken breast and made it so big it burst from the brioche bun it was served on.
Topped with teriyaki, red chili sauce, and delicious coleslaw, this is one sandwich not for ant-sized mouths.
Pineapple Dole Whip
I cannot go to Disneyland without getting a Dole Whip. It is usually one of my first stops when I get there.
It is a delicious soft-serve frozen treat blended with the flavors of pineapple and vanilla.
Once you have a bite, you will swear it is the tastiest pineapple treat you’ve ever had.
The internet is full of copycat recipes, but I’ve never had one that tasted quite like the ones I get at Aloha Isle in Adventureland.
Chili Cone Queso
Ice cream cones are great, but what other foods work in a cone?
At Cozy Cone Motel in California Adventure, they put a whole bowl of chili in a cone.
They top it with cheese and corn chips and make one of the best comfort foods into something portable.
I love these, but make sure you grab plenty of napkins!
Lobster Nachos
Lamplight Lounge has been a staple location at Pixar Pier in Disneyland for a long time.
The smell of the water fills the air, and it seems like the perfect place to have a seafood dish.
They don’t disappoint with their lobster nachos. The lobster and cheese topped with Pico De Gallo is the right amount of spicy.
I’ve had this many times and look forward to it whenever I visit.
Plaza Inn Fried Chicken
If you’re looking for a nice, sit-down dinner, you will find it at Plaza Inn.
And their fried chicken dinner is one of the best I’ve ever had outside of a southern kitchen.
The chicken has the right blend of spices, the mashed potatoes are creamy, and the biscuits are warm and flaky.
You will need to do some walking after you polish off this plate.
Cosmic Cream Orb
Sometimes you want a snack that is out of this world.
If you head to Terran Treats, you’ll be able to get a Cosmic Cream Orb.
It is a giant cream puff with raspberry cheesecake filling. It is delicious, but the sweetness can be overwhelming.
Try it on a day when you haven’t filled up on sugar.
Funnel Cake Fries
Funnel cakes are a staple snack at any fair or theme park. And Disneyland is a great place to get plenty of them.
But Award Wieners puts a spin on them that takes them up a notch. They make funnel cakes in french fry form, complete with whipped cream for dipping.
And they have seasonal flavors you will love, like the carrot cake funnel fries available in the fall.
Large Mickey Chocolate Chip Cookie
Leave it to Disneyland to take something as classic as a chocolate chip cookie and make it even better.
This huge cookie is shaped like the head of a certain mouse and dipped in chocolate.
I hope you’re hungry when you get one. They’re available at a few places around the park, but milk is sold separately.
Mac and Cheese Bread Bowl
Some eating establishments in Disneyland have a secret menu that isn’t that much of a secret.
When you go to the Pacific Wharf Cafe at Disney California Adventure, you can get a deliciously warm and fluffy Boudin sourdough bread bowl filled to the brim with creamy mac and cheese.
Mickey Bar
My childhood food memories have the taste of the mickey bar.
It seems simple because it is vanilla ice cream in the shape of Mickey’s head on a stick, dipped in creamy chocolate.
Biting the chocolate shell into the soft ice cream is a delicious way to beat the California heat.
Mickey Macaron
The Jolly Holiday Bakery and Cafe makes our list again with the Mickey Macaron.
This Disney version of the famous French cookies is popular with park guests.
They are light desserts filled with things like jam, whipped cream, or Nutella.
It isn’t my favorite snack in the park, but anything shaped like Mickey is good, so I’ll never turn down an opportunity to have one.
Mickey Shaped Pretzel
Head over to Frontierland for the only place to find a Mickey-Shaped Pretzel.
If you like the soft pretzels found at the carnival and theme parks when you were young, this snack will bring back memories.
I enjoy mine with some mustard, but your taste buds will tell you what combination to try.
Choco-Smash Candy Bar
Another one of Hank Pym’s culinary experiments gone haywire is available at the Pym Test Kitchen.
This time he made a candy bar grow to three times its size. The Choco-Smash Candy Bar is packed with peanuts, caramel, nougat, and chocolate.
You may want to get a friend to help you polish off this snack.
Rainbow Unicorn Slushie
Visit Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff on Pixar Pier for one of Disneyland’s newest offerings.
The Rainbow Unicorn Slush is several layers of frozen drinks of many colors topped with rainbow nerds.
The taste of that candy from childhood will wake up some nostalgic feelings in kids and their parents.
Safari Skewer
Disneyland can get very crowded in the summer.
That can be the best time to find some remarkable dishes like the Safari Skewer served at the Bengal BBQ.
Loaded with asparagus, wrapped in bacon, grilled, and served with a slice of lime, it is a great meal if you want to keep your stomach light for all those rides you’ll be on later.
Tigger Tails
If you want to take a trip down memory lane, you have to go to Pooh’s Corner Bakery and get a Tigger Tail.
Marshmallows are covered in caramel and dipped in orange sugar.
Chocolate is added to make it look just like the bouncy tail of a certain T-I-Double G-Er!
Cheddar Garlic Bagel Twist
The new Fantasy Faire is the home to a snack cart called Maurice’s Treats.
One of their signature snacks that has become popular is the cheddar garlic bagel twist.
Warm and flaky bagels are stretched out and infused with garlic and cheese. They have strawberry and chocolate versions available as well.
Grey Stuff Gâteau
One thing I love about Disneyland is how they bring food from around the world under the banner of their film catalog.
Like this dish served at the Red Rose Taverne, marketed with Beauty and the Beast imagery.
This signature French dish is a stunning shortbread topped with a raspberry-filled red velvet cake.
Giant Dill Pickle
If you’re counting calories or if you like pickles, this is exactly what it claims to be.
It is a tasty pickled cucumber, but it is huge! They’re individually wrapped, so you don’t have to eat them all at once.
They come in two varieties, the classic dill and the sour pickle, which will make your mouth pucker.
Final Thoughts
When I go to Disneyland, my to-do list is long and mostly made up of things I want to eat.
I try to leave some room on my schedule to try something new every time, but these are the things I head back to time and time again. Hopefully, you will check some of them out the next time you visit and find out why I love Disneyland so much!
