Where to Go for the Freshest Seafood in Naples

Our favorite destinations in the city to enjoy the bounty of the sea.

Naples, Florida is one of Florida’s lesser-known gems that you’ll find far down south on the Gulf Coast. Naples is home to some of the clearest water and most pristine sugar sand beaches in the entire world, not to mention all of the luxurious, high-end shopping malls and top-tier restaurants.

Out of all the different types of restaurants, however, seafood reigns supreme down here in Naples, and it makes sense considering the close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico. If you’re curious about where to go to get seafood in Naples, then I’ve got something for you.

I’ve gone through the city and gathered up all the best seafood restaurants Naples has to offer, ranking them on one convenient list down below that’s pretty much guaranteed to have what you’re looking for. Just keep on reading to find out who’s serving up the freshest seafood in the city.

Truluck’s Ocean’s Finest Seafood and Crab

698 4th Ave S, Naples, FL 34102

Coming away with the number-one spot on my list is none other than Truluck’s Ocean’s Finest Seafood and Crab. While this upscale restaurant serves both steak and seafood, the fish and shellfish are what really shine here.

I highly recommend trying some stone crab claws if they’re available, but the menu is absolutely full of other delicious seafood options to choose from like fresh crab legs or the classic surf and turf. No matter what you choose, though, it’s bound to be delicious.

Check out Truluck’s off of 4th Avenue near Cambier Park and the 5th Avenue Shopping Naples Florida shopping mall.

USS Nemo Restaurant

3745 Tamiami Trail N, Naples, FL 34103

Next up is USS Nemo and you can find them over off of Tamiami Trail North inside the Parkshore Center shopping mall. This place serves up absolutely incredible fresh fish and shellfish for anyone interested in a great seafood dinner.

I love coming here for the steamed Florida clams, but the Alaskan king crab is the real treat on the menu, if you ask me. Just make sure to keep the melted butter coming!

They also have an amazing selection of beers and wines to choose from that will complement your fish nicely so make sure to peruse that menu as well.

Swan River Seafood Restaurant & Fish Market

Right next door to USS Nemo, in the same plaza, is another amazing seafood restaurant in Naples called Swan River Seafood Restaurant & Fish Market. This place is incredible and I highly recommend coming here if you’re nearby.

I always start with one of their signature cocktails while I read the menu when I come to Swan River. I really enjoy the jalapeno margarita and the aperol spritz. For food, definitely check out the raw bar when you come here, but I’d say you should also try something from the market. You can pick your fish and have it cooked whichever way you like.

Captain & Krewe

629 8th St S, Naples, FL 34102
Phone: 239-263-1976
Visit Website

Up next, I’d like to mention Captain & Krewe as another one of my favorite seafood places to visit in Naples. The food here is spectacular, of course, and you can even order fish and shellfish by the pound to take home with you if you prefer that to dining in the restaurant.

Everything is so fresh you can literally taste the ocean in every bite, so when it comes to ordering fish, you’ve got to just take a look and see what looks best to you in their market and go with that. There’s a good chance that the fish you eat here was caught that same day, it’s that fresh!

Mr. Big Fish

754 Neapolitan Way, Naples, FL 34103
Phone: 239-262-4665
Visit Website

If you find yourself nearby the Neapolitan Way Shopping Center in the Park Shore neighborhood of Naples, be sure to stop in at Mr. Big Fish. This place has everything you could ever want to fulfill your cravings for fresh seafood, and more.

I always start out with some raw oysters when I come here to Mr. Big Fish, but clam chowder and lobster bisque are both great ways to get you started. When it comes to entrees, I usually go for the fish & chips or the pank parmesan-crusted trout. They also offer some absolutely delectable cuts of steak here.

Sails Restaurant

301 5th Ave S, Naples, FL 34102
Phone: 239-360-2000
Visit Website

Almost near the end of 5th Avenue is a place called Sails Restaurant. I really love coming here for seafood when I’m around town because I thoroughly enjoy the elegance of the establishment and the authentic European fare they serve.

I’d say that Sails Restaurant is best known for their seafood towers, and if they’re not, then they should be. There are seafood towers for one and for two, consisting of a mouth-watering assortment of the freshest shellfish and tuna tartare that I’ve ever had. Their towers even come with moreton bay bugs which you don’t find very often in restaurants.

The Turtle Club

9225 Gulf Shore Dr, Naples, FL 34108
Phone: 239-592-6557
Visit Website

The Turtle Club is the next place I’d like to bring your attention to and it’s located over off of Gulf Shore Drive inside The Vanderbilt Beach Resort. A fantastic seafood restaurant inside of a luxury, waterfront hotel, what more could you want?

I always find myself ordering the ceviche to start things off with, but then I move into something from the entrees portion of the menu such as the roasted gulf grouper or the grilled petite filet with sea scallops and lump crab, but no matter what you choose, it’s all fresh and delicious.

BALEEN Naples

9891 Gulf Shore Dr, Naples, FL 34108
Phone: 239-598-5707

BALEEN is located inside the LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort off of Gulf Shore Drive in the Vanderbilt Beach neighborhood of Naples and they are simply a must-visit place to get seafood in the area, even if you aren’t staying at the hotel. Although, once you see the hotel and restaurant, you may end up booking a room!

I absolutely love this place because they have an unbelievable risotto dish that comes served with Maine lobster tail, black truffles, forest mushrooms, and fennel. It’s simply to-die-for. Of course, they have so many other options to choose from that there’s no way you don’t find something you love.

Ocean Prime

699 5th Ave S, Naples, FL 34102
Phone: 239-430-0404
Visit Website

Ocean Prime is a very familiar name to me and they’ve made my lists many times before for being simply amazing restaurants, but this time I want to highlight just how delectable and superb their seafood assortment really is.

Here at Ocean Prime, you have access to some of the freshest fish and shellfish in the whole city, so if you’re a seafood lover, this is the place to indulge your fantasies. I am a huge fan of their pan seared scallops that come out golden brown every time, but when you pair it with a Prime steak, it really takes this to the next level.

The Claw Bar

221 9th St S, Naples, FL 34102
Phone: 239-231-3912
Visit Website

Just north of the Naples Train Museum and the Naples Depot Museum is The Claw Bar. This place is one of my go-to seafood restaurants whenever I’m in the mood for a delicious seafood brunch or breakfast. The best part is that their brunch menu is served all day long, so there’s no need to rush in order to make it on time.

I highly recommend a seafood tower when you come to The Claw Bar, but the lobster eggs Benedict is simply phenomenal. If you’re here for dinner, however, I’d go with their St. Augustine stew.

The Bay House Restaurant

799 Walkerbilt Rd, Naples, FL 34110
Phone: 239-591-3837
Visit Website

The last stop on my seafood-based culinary tour of Naples is The Bay House Restaurant and this place is a real treat. You can find The Bay House off of Walkerbilt Road, nestled into the mangroves and overlooking the water. It’s a fantastic spot for a romantic night out where you’re looking to impress.

I love everything about The Bay House, but some of my favorite foods that they serve have to be the coastal pan roast, the pan seared swordfish, the roasted black cod, and, of course, the roasted lobster with a petite filet. Any one of those choices is sure to satisfy.

Final Thoughts

As you might expect from a beautiful city on the water like Naples, there’s no end to the variety of seafood available to you here. You can find everything from fresh-caught grouper to Maine lobster, and everything  in between, so don’t waste any more time and get started checking off some places on this list!

If you’re not looking for Naples seafood restaurants, you might want to check out some brunch restaurants instead.
