Key West Brunch Guide: Where to Go This Weekend

Our favorite spots around the city to grab eggs benedict, mimosas, and more.

If you ask me, breakfast isn’t the most important meal of the day, it’s brunch. There’s just something so perfect about waking up late and having a midday meal of your favorite breakfast and lunch foods. What makes brunch even better is that it’s a great opportunity for a mimosa or a bloody mary!

Blue Heaven

729 Thomas St, Key West, FL 33040

Unsurprisingly, Blue Heaven is at the top of one of my lists again and it’s really easy to see why once you’ve eaten there. Blue Heaven is located off of Thomas Street in the Bahama Village neighborhood, right near the Key West Lighthouse and The Hemingway Home and Museum.

What I love about Blue Heaven’s brunch is that they offer so many delicious food options like omelettes, benedicts, and pancakes. In addition to all that, you can choose from seven different flavors of mimosa! The only hard part about Sunday brunch here at Blue Heaven is deciding between all the incredible options.

Pepe’s Cafe

806 Caroline St, Key West, FL 33040

Visit Website

This next place is called Pepe’s Cafe and it’s located on Caroline Street near the Sails To Rails Museum at Flagler Station and the Yankee Freedom Dry Tortugas Ferry that can take you out to Fort Jefferson National Park, so it’s the perfect place to grab a bite before doing some sightseeing.

Pepe’s Cafe has a rustic charm that comes from the fact that it’s been open since 1909. With over 100 years of service, you know they’re doing something right.

You can build you own omelette here at Pepe’s, which is what I usually opt to do, but there are so many other delicious brunch options that it gets difficult to pick, especially if you’re really hungry.

The Cafe

509 Southard St #6835, Key West, FL 33040

If you’re on a vegetarian diet, or even if you simply enjoy vegetarian food, then you’re going to love this next Key West restaurant. The Cafe is a vegetarian restaurant that serves astounding vegetarian and seafood dishes as well as beer and wine.

Brunch is served here at The Cafe on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 4 pm. They offer all sorts of brunch delicacies that I can never resist like huevos rancheros, “chicken” and waffles, and even shakshuka. They also serve fresh juices, organic wines, and dirty chai as well.

Azur Restaurant

425 Grinnell St, Key West, FL 33040
Phone: 305-292-2987
Visit Website

Up next is Azur Restaurant located on Grinnell Street near some really great places to stay in Key West like Eden House Key West and Westwinds Inn Key West. Both of these charming hotels are within walking distance to Azur.

The menu here at Azur Restaurant is limited, but that’s most likely because so much care is put into making every dish so delectable. One of my favorite things to order from Azur is the crab cake Benedict, it’s absolutely mind-blowingly delicious and you can really taste how fresh the crab is.

Bagatelle Key West

115 Duval St #6505, Key West, FL 33040
Phone: 305-296-6609
Visit Website

Bagatelle Key West is off of the famous Duval Street, right near the Key West Aquarium and Mallory Square where all the cruise ships come to port. This restaurant has possibly one of the best locations when it comes to grabbing brunch.

I always recommend starting with one of their refreshing brunch cocktails like the incredible Tennessee peach lemonade made with Jack Daniels or a tropical Duval paloma. As for food, I strongly suggest that you grab an order of biscuits and gravy or the corned beef hash platter, but there are so many other delicious options.

Harpoon Harry’s

832 Caroline St, Key West, FL 33040
Phone: 305-294-8744
Visit Website

It’s hard to make a list of great Key West restaurants that serve brunch without including Harpoon Harry’s. Harpoon Harry’s is located on the corner of Caroline Street and Margaret Street directly across the street from Sails To Rails Museum at Flagler Station.

What I always order from Harpoon Harry’s is the 8-ounce tenderloin and eggs because of how hearty and filling it is, but if you don’t want something that heavy, I recommend the seafood omelet that comes with lobster and lump crab. Either way, you’re going to thoroughly enjoy brunch here.

Goldman’s Bagel Deli

2796 N Roosevelt Blvd, Naval Air Station Key West, FL 33040
Phone: 305-294-3354
Visit Website

Next up, we’re heading over to the Overseas Market shopping mall to a wonderful Jewish deli called Goldman’s Deli. Once you experience brunch at Goldman’s, you won’t want a bagel from anywhere else in the world.

Breakfast sandwiches are some of my favorite things to eat, and Goldman’s has the all-time best ones if you ask me. I love the classic breakfast bagel that comes with two eggs, cheese, and ham or bacon on a fresh-baked bagel. It’s really hard to beat breakfast at Goldman’s Deli, and I highly recommend getting a few bagels to take home with you.

Banana Cafe

1215 Duval St, Key West, FL 33040
Phone: 305-294-7227
Visit Website

Banana Cafe is another charming place to eat brunch in Key West and it’s located just north on Duval Street from the Southernmost Point of the Continental US and The Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory, so there are plenty of fun things to do nearby.

This French bistro is an absolutely amazing place to get brunch when you’re in town and I think that everyone should try it. What I love to order from Banana Cafe is one of their savory crepes, particularly the La Mahi Piccata and the L’Americaine. The sweet crepes here are just as good as well.

Moondog Cafe

823 Whitehead St, Key West, FL 33040
Phone: 305-741-7699
Visit Website

Up next is Moondog Cafe on Whitehead Street in the Key West Historic District. This brunch spot is a quaint little cottage cafe where I love to go for things like breakfast tacos or steak and eggs, but those two are just the beginning.

Moondog Cafe offers all sorts of tasty brunch foods like Benedicts, omelettes, and lots of sweet treats. If you like your breakfast to be a bit sweeter, then you should definitely try the blueberry lemon quinoa pancakes or the brioche French toast with berries and toasted almonds. Both of these are fantastic options for brunch!

La Crêperie French Café Key West

300 Petronia St #1, Key West, FL 33040
Phone: 305-440-2240
Visit Website

If you’re planning on spending the day over at Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park Beach or the Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park, you might want to consider stopping by La Creperie French Cafe for a tasty brunch beforehand.

What I love about La Creperie French Cafe is that not only do they serve galettes, croques, and omelettes, but they also have both a French breakfast and an American breakfast portion of the menu. My favorite thing to order is, hands-down, the French breakfast. It consists of rillettes, salami, bread, jam, croissant, and butter.

Firefly Key West

223 Petronia St, Key West, FL 33040
Phone: 305-849-0104
Visit Website

Firefly Key West is another amazing brunch restaurant in Key West and I love them because they serve a lot of my favorite Southern breakfast classics with their own unique twist. The fresh-baked buttermilk biscuits are honestly to-die-for, and that’s only just the start.

What I love to get from Firefly is the cast iron shrimp and grits because it literally never fails to satisfy me, but there are so many other delectable options. If you like breakfast potatoes, I strongly recommend trying the hashbrown casserole with cheddar and mushrooms. You’re definitely going to want to stop by Firefly for brunch in Key West.
