When you’re in Key West, you’re most likely going to want to grab a drink at some point.
After all, partying is half the reason people go to Key West.
Luckily, there’s no shortage of watering holes in Key West, but with all the variety it can be hard to choose which ones are the best.
That’s where I come in.
I took on the daunting task of finding out which Key West bars are the best places to get a drink when you’re visiting this little slice of paradise, and I did not come back empty-handed (though maybe a tad hungover).
What you’ll find below is a complete ranking of all the best bars Key West has to offer all listed in one convenient place.
You’ll find all the most popular bars, pubs, taverns, and more just waiting to serve you your favorite drinks.
Once you take a look at this list, it’ll be easy to understand just where Jimmy Buffet got the inspiration for the song “Margaritaville”.
Green Parrot Bar

Kicking things off is a spot called Green parrot Bar. Green Parrot Bar is located near the Bahama Village neighborhood of Key West on Whitehead Street, just up the road from the Truman Waterfront Park.
It’s a great place to wet your whistle after a day soaking up the sun.
Green Parrot offers countless bottles, cans, and draft beers, as well as a full liquor bar and live performances nearly every single day.
There’s no stop to the entertainment here at Green Parrot Bar.
Come play a game of pool and listen to some tunes the next time you’re in the mood for a night out.

Next up is a place called Sunset Pier located over on the famous Duval Street inside the Ocean Key Resort & Spa at Mallory Square.
It’s the absolute ideal place to grab a drink if you’re just stepping off of a cruise ship since they come to port right nearby, especially if it’s brunchtime.
What I love the most about Sunset Pier is that they have fun specialty drinks, including one that comes inside of a real, hand-carved coconut called the Monkey Coconut that you get to take home with you.
I recommend filling it with the Cocomonkey Margarita!
The Rum Bar

Just southeast of The Hemingway Home and Museum and the Key West Lighthouse is another great bar to visit when you’re feeling a bit thirsty down here in Key West called The Rum Bar.
In true Caribbean fashion, rum is the specialty here, but they have plenty of other drinks to choose from too if rum isn’t your thing.
I highly recommend a rum flight when you go to The Rum Bar.
The rum flights here come with a selection of five different aged rums to try so you can pick your favorite.
Of course, they also have classic cocktails like rum runners and mojitos if that’s more your style.
Capt. Tony’s Saloon

Capt. Tony’s Saloon is another Duval Street favorite of mine where you can go for a good time and some delicious cocktails.
It’s also located in a convenient spot right near the Key West Aquarium and the Mel Fisher Maritime Museum, so it’s great for grabbing a drink after doing some sightseeing.
What I recommend from Capt. Tony’s Saloon is ordering one of their 22-ounce souvenir cups with some of their Pirate Punch that will sure pack a wallop.
There are also plenty of arcade games to play inside Capt. Tony’s, so you’ll never run out of things to do.
Vinos on Duval

Up next is a place called Vinos on Duval.
Vinos is a charming wine bar built inside of a renovated cottage that has the most comfortable vibe to it.
I’m serious, you’ll want to hang out and relax all day long with a glass of wine in your hand.
If you’re a fan of bubbles, then Vinos is the place for you.
Every day, all day long, they offer a special on Veuve Clicquot yellow label and rose where you can get a bottle for $58 and $66, respectively.
Not a bad deal for some good champagne!
Hogfish Bar & Grill

Hogfish Bar & Grill is another one of my favorite places to get a drink in Key West because it’s located right on the harbor with plenty of outdoor seating, so it’s perfect for anyone who’s out on a boat that wants to dock up for lunch or dinner.
This place has some of the freshest seafood you can get and some absolutely insane drink deals and specials.
I recommend a prickly pear cactus margarita or maybe even a key lime mojito to really quench your thirst. Another great drink option is the Hogfish margarita.
La Te Da

This next place is called La Te Da Restaurant and Bar and it’s located inside of the La Te Da 3-star hotel.
You can find this place in the Key West Historic District, not far from the Southernmost Point of the Continental United States and the The Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory.
If you’re stopping in at La Te Da for a drink, which you should, then you’ll definitely want to try a few of their craft cocktails and maybe some of their delicious food.
They have a piano bar as well as an outdoor bar on the terrace so you can enjoy your drinks either inside or outside.
Durty Harry’s

When you get to Durty Harry’s, I recommend starting with a few drinks, of course, but they also offer small bites and snacks in case your stomach starts growling.
Come grab a beer or a cocktail and enjoy some live music down here at Durty Harry’s.
It’s one of the best bars in Key West, hands down.
Rick’s Bar

Rick’s Bar on Duval Street really has it all.
This is such a fun place to come and grab a drink when you’re in Key West because they have different themed areas, live music, a pizzeria, and so much more that the fun literally never stops here.
Rick’s Bar actually consists of eight different bars, so there’s really no limit on the fun.
This place is easily one of the most popular bars Key West has to offer and it’s easy to see why.
It’s one of the places you can really spend all night at and never get bored.
The Bull

Last, but most-certainly not least, is The Bull. The Bull is an open-air bar with rooftop seating and just an overall great place to hang out and relax in Key West.
They have all the imported beer, domestic beer, and draft beers you could ever want, as well as an extensive liquor menu.
You can enjoy your drinks with a fantastic view of Duval Street here at The Bull, so if you’re passing by and you feel a bit of thirst coming on, don’t be afraid to stop in and grab a drink.
This place is as old-school as it gets and I love it that way.
