Not many of us consider the origin or owner of a brand of alcohol when we pick it up at the store. We purchase it because we like how it tastes – it’s usually not too much more complicated than that.

But did you know that there are quite a few celebrity-owned alcohol brands on the market today? Some of the best brands are backed by famous individuals.
It’s an easy way for a person of notoriety to invest their vast earnings into something they’re passionate about- not to mention the chance to earn a little bit of extra cash along the way!
Who knows, maybe one of your favorite celebs is on the list.
Celebrity Owned Alcohol Brands
Check out some of the best celebrity-owned alcohol brands to spice up your liquor cabinet before your next gathering.
Villa One
Villa One is the drink of choice created by a famous musician you probably recognize most from the hit boy band, the Jonas Brothers: Nick Jonas.
The pop artist teamed up with fashion designer John Varvatos to create an award-winning, handcrafted tequila. The brand’s claim to fame is its blue weber agave sourced directly from Mexico.
The brand boasts three different tequilas as of now: silver, Anejo, and reposado – all of which were created by the team’s third contributor, Master Distiller Arturo Fuentes.
Fuentes has quite the reputation as the “Godfather of Tequila,” so you know this is high-quality stuff.
Teremana Tequila
We all know Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson from his impressive wrestling career and expensive acting repertoire, but did you know that he also owns his tequila brand?
Teremana Tequila stemmed from the idea that nothing in life comes easy, but with some hard work and dedication, you can achieve something great. I love that this brand has solid roots built on effort.
Teremana has its own version of tequila blanco, reposado, and anejo. It’s earned several awards since its launch, and it truly follows the meaning of the name, which is the spirit of the earth.
As a responsibly sourced product, Teremana’s processes include taking care of the land from which it comes.
Aviation Gin
Every gin fanatic knows that a good brand of gin uses a precise blend of pure botanicals, suspended just long enough to perfectly infuse.
Long-time gin lover Ryan Reynolds claimed to have tried every gin ever made, and he insists that his brand Aviation is the best of the best.
The brand was created by co-founders Christian Krogstad and Ryan Magarian.
After he pursued finding the best gin in the world, Reynolds purchased a majority stake in the company and still maintains ownership interest today.
Although the actor wasn’t involved in the conception or creation of the brand, he’s certainly an active member of the team today and frequently promotes the brand when possible.
818 Tequila
818 Tequila is appropriately named after the area code in which its owner, Kendall Jenner, lives.
Jenner followed her natural love for this specific liquor and combined it with her love for the planet by teaming up with the best in the industry to create a sustainable brand.
So, what’s the goal of 818? The brand aims to make the best-tasting tequila. I think they’ve accomplished that, considering it’s already an award-winning blend after less than a year on the market.
But more importantly, 818 strives to meet the highest standards in terms of environmental sustainability, transparency, and accountability.
For every bottle sold, 818 donates one percent to environmental non-profit partners around the globe, and that’s pretty awesome.
Brother’s Bond Bourbon
Hello, brother.
If you’re a fan of the hit TV series The Vampire Diaries, you recognized that first line right away.
Why does this matter? Because the stars of that show, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder, who played brothers, used their strong friendship both on and offset to create a fantastic bourbon: Brother’s Bond Bourbon.
Not only do the two actors frequently enjoy bourbon on screen, but they love the drink in real life. I’m a big fan of their bourbon, but not just because it tastes good.
I love it because it comes with a great story of friendship, time, patience, and dedication.
Both actors are also strong advocates for helping the environment and frequently speak out against sources of climate change.
Ciroc Vodka
Ciroc Vodka: ultra-premium, smooth, and gluten-free. It also comes in an upscale-looking bottle and includes a wide range of alcoholic products.
But who is the famous name behind this brand? It’s none other than Sean Combs, better known as P. Diddy, Puff Daddy, and simply Diddy.
Though the rapper’s last album was way back in 2006, Combs has been very busy with other ventures. In 2007, he entered the Ciroc deal for 50 percent of the company.
Today, he continues to oversee the lifestyle and marketing side of Ciroc, hoisting it as a luxury vodka brand.
Heaven’s Door Whiskey
Hailed as the “best bourbons of the 21st century” by Robb Report, Heaven’s Door Whiskey is a line of award-winning whiskey created by Master Blender Ryan Perry.
Perry may not be a globally recognized name, but Bob Dylan sure is.
Dylan co-created this collection of whiskey, hoping to give a little piece of himself in every bottle.
Each bottle features the welded iron gates that Dylan created in his studio, Black Buffalo Ironworks.
I can’t help but be fascinated by the distinct appearance of every bottle, and the name of the brand certainly won’t be lost on fans of the musician.
King St. Vodka
Kate Hudson is known for a lot of things. She is an award-winning actress, she works knee-deep in the fashion industry, and she’s a published author.
But what may surprise you most is that she owns the liquor brand King St. Vodka.
Hudson’s story is a true victory for women everywhere. She started the brand for no other reason other than the fact that she couldn’t find a vodka founded by a woman- so she made her own!
The brand has continued to grow in popularity over the years.
The seven-times distilled vodka has a smooth taste accompanied by some rad feminine power. I’ll drink to that!
Próspero Tequila
Prospero Tequila comes with two major claims to fame. One is that it was created by one of the few female Master Distillers, Mexico’s own Stella Anguiano.
As if that wasn’t awe-inspiring enough, Anguiano partnered with international pop star Rita Ora to develop a brand that fiercely supports and drives women’s initiatives.
Rita Ora serves as Prospero’s Chief Creative Partner, boasting a recipe of her own and using her platform as a celebrity to uplift both the tequila brand and women everywhere.
She promotes Prosperos products on social media, both via her own and company accounts.
SelvaRey Rum
As it turns out, Bruno Mars has a lot more to offer than catchy tunes and a winning smile.
The artist is also co-owner of premium, US-based rum brand SelvaRey Rum.
Mars teamed up with Master Blender Francisco Fernandez, who owns his very own distillery in the middle of the Panamanian jungle.
The name SelvaRey reflects this property, as it loosely translates from Spanish to mean ‘king of the jungle.’
The brand is known mainly for its unique white, chocolate, coconut, and owner’s reserve rums – all of which are distilled in Panama by Fernandez.
Maison No. 9
Most people don’t think of rapper Post Malone when they think about wine, but as Post once said, “Rose is for when you want to get a little fancy.”
Thus, Maison No. 9 wine was born.
If you think Post Malone and fancy wine is an odd combination, it’s probably because that was on purpose.
Maison No. 9 aims to tear down traditional perceptions of fancy wine with the idea that you don’t have to live a certain lifestyle to enjoy it.
So, Malone teamed up with a top-notch winery to create a high-quality rose that features the image of his favorite tarot card.
Even if you’re not a fan of Post Malone and his music, you’re sure to enjoy this smooth, delicious wine.
19 Crimes Cali Blend
Speaking of rappers and wine, we can’t continue this list without mentioning one of the greatest of all time: Snoop Dogg.
The 19 Crimes brand was already well underway when Snoop entered the picture, but his partnership certainly gave the brand notoriety.
Snoop teamed up with the 19 Crimes wine experts to release his Snoop Cali Red, which is a red blend featuring merlot, zinfandel, and petite syrah.
He later released his 19 Crimes Snoop Cali Rose, a fruit-forward rose, in 2020.
The business venture interested Snoop simply because he loves wine and loved the idea behind the 19 Crimes brand, which features images and stories of infamous criminals.
Casamigos Tequila
Is the doctor in? No, because he’s busy with his fabulous tequila business!
Casamigos Tequila is famously owned by world-renowned, award-winning actor George Clooney.
Clooney partnered with longtime friends Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman to create a smooth, great-tasting tequila and mezcal that didn’t require lime or salt to be palatable.
When the friends first created their tequila, they only intended to serve it in their respective homes as their “house” tequila.
However, the brand has exploded in unimaginable ways and is now an award-winning endeavor.
Crystal Head Vodka
When you combine a shared love of vodka, a creative artist, and a dedicated actor, the result is an amazing product.
The result of this particular partnership was Crystal Head Vodka.
The alcohol brand was founded by co-owners Dan Aykroyd and John Alexander: actor and artist, respectively.
Their signature vodka is enclosed in a crystal skull-shaped bottle that distinguishes it from other brands.
Crystal Head vodka is locally sourced from Canadian corn, distilled four times, and filtered seven times through semi-precious crystals.
The result is a smooth finish with a hint of vanilla, and it’s been well received by casual drinkers and critics alike- given the numerous awards the brand has won.
D’USSE Cognac
A lot of celebrities invest in tequila, vodka, and whiskey brands, but cognac lovers are few and far between.
There is, however, one very popular celebrity who has dedicated his time and efforts to a prestigious cognac brand: Shawn Carter.
You know him better as rapper Jay-Z.
Jay-Z founded D’USSE Cognac in partnership with one of the world’s senior-most cellar masters, Michel Casavecchia.
The brand creates its liquor in France at one of the oldest cognac houses in existence and currently has two variations on the market.
The resulting drink is crisp, smooth, and enough to win over even those who don’t enjoy cognac.
Hampton Water
Nothing makes a day better than a refreshing glass of rose, and singer Jon Bon Jovi couldn’t agree more.
Bon Jovi and his son Jesse, alongside skilled winemaker Gerard Bertrand, launched the Hampton Water brand in 2017 with the intent to align two worlds: the South of France and the Hamptons.
The wine hit the nail on the head, as it scored 90 points by the Wine Spectator four years in a row and made the Top 100 list.
Dos Primos Tequila
What’s in a name? Well, in Dos Primos Tequila, you can find the meaning for “two cousins,” which is super appropriate given that the two owners of this brand are, indeed, cousins.
Dos Primos was created and launched by country star Thomas Rhett and his cousin, Jeff Worn.
The cousins share a love of family, friends, the outdoors, and, of course, tequila. In 2019, they got together to create a 100 percent pure agave tequila, hand-harvested from Los Altos.
To put an exclamation point on the importance of family, Dos Primos works with Destiladora Gonzalez Lux, which has used the same successful distilling process for over 150 years.
Why change something that’s already been perfected?
Miraval
Miraval takes the glitz and glam of rose to the next level. And why shouldn’t it, considering it was acquired by the world-famous, then-couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
In 2008, the power couple joined forces with Provence winery Chateau Miraval and the Perrin winemaking family. It also happened to serve as the destination for the couple’s wedding.
Despite the split of one of Hollywood’s favorite couples, the winery has reported that it’s “business as usual.”
It’s also been reported that Jolie sold her 50 percent stake in the brand to Tenute del Mondo, making Pitt the remaining celebrity owner of Miraval Rose.
Santo Fino
What may seem like an unlikely duo to you turns out to be a fantastic team.
American singer-songwriter Sammy Hagar and world-famous chef Guy Fieri founded the tequila brand Santo Fino based on finding a taste revelation and “a higher spirit.”
So, what makes this brand special?
Hagar has a history of making fantastic tequila. Fieri knows a little bit about what tastes good.
And the third piece of the puzzle is Juan Eduardo: an award-winning craftsman who has carefully honed the art of making old-world style tequila, perfect not only for drinking but for cooking as well.
Avaline
Who doesn’t want clean, delicious wine? That’s what you find with Avaline.
Actress Cameron Diaz works with Katerine Power to turn her love of white wine and girl time into an organic, clean, and transparent drink for all to enjoy.
Everything you need to know is right on the bottle. It’s vegan friendly, it shares nutritional information, and it gives you tasting notes.
Plus, all the packaging is recyclable and the company partners with organizations that plant trees, protect land and safeguard ocean biodiversity.
I love a wine that makes you feel good in more ways than one.
Skinnygirl
The Skinnygirl cocktails brand launched as simply a low-calorie margarita drink, but it has grown into a brand of products to include vodka, wine, and ready-to-serve cocktails.
The brand was started by reality TV star Bethenny Frankel and her husband in 2009.
With the brand’s success came a fruitful partnership.
Frankel sold her quickly growing empire to Fortune’s Beam Global Spirits and Wine just two years later, but she remains active in the endeavor as a collaborator, developer, and marketer.
What I love most about this brand is that it’s geared towards women and lets you enjoy your cocktails without counting your calories along the way.
