The holidays are a cheerful, warm, and cozy time to get together with friends and family, and what better way to celebrate the cheer than with a delicious holiday mocktail in hand?

Whether you’re not a drinker, don’t like the taste of alcohol, are too young to drink, want to save calories for the holiday dinners, or simply want non-alcoholic options at your next holiday party or event, holiday themed mocktails are a great option.
Not only do they look and taste festive, but they’re also usually pretty easy to make. Often, it’s as simple as making the related cocktail and forgoing the booze.
Whether you’re looking for something fruity, chocolatey, or even minty, there’s a holiday mocktail out there for everyone.
Holiday Mocktails
Eggnog is a holiday classic for good reasons.
It’s creamy, deliciously spiced, and can be made ahead of time, so you don’t have to worry about it on the day of your party.
To make a non-alcoholic version of eggnog, simply leave out the rum, whiskey, or bourbon that is typically used.
Instead, add more nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla extract for flavor.
This drink is great for kids or adults who don’t want alcohol but still want to feel like they’re participating in the festivities.
Apple cider is a fall favorite, but it can easily be turned into a winter mocktail with a few simple ingredients.
To make an apple cider mocktail, combine apple cider, ginger beer, and lime juice in a pitcher. Add a cinnamon stick for garnish and serve over ice.
You can also use orange juice or orange-flavored seltzer water for an additional citrusy kick.
This mocktail is excellent for holiday parties because it’s easy to make, and you can make it ahead of time. It’s also a pretty drink that will look great on your holiday table.
Apple cider mocktails are also one of my favorite drinks to consume, along with holiday food, such as roasted pork tenderloin or bacon-wrapped turkey.
A candy cane mocktail is a fun and festive twist on the classic winter cocktail.
It contains half-n-half, cream soda, peppermint oil, simple syrup, and candy canes.
It’s simple yet sweet and looks attractive, especially if you add candy cane crumbles around the rim for a cheery finishing touch.
I recommend making these for parties or an event where your friends and family make them themselves, as it’s easy to get increasingly creative with this one!
This option is a great sweet drink to sip alongside other sweet holiday treats, such as:
- Chocolate peppermint pretzels
- Gingerbread cookies
- Butter pecan fudge
- Apple pie
- Shortbread cookies
- Baked Alaska
- Christmas pudding
Cranberry-orange punch is a festive and refreshing mocktail that’s perfect for holiday parties, especially daytime events in warmer regions.
It’s made with cranberry juice, orange juice, seltzer water, and a little bit of sugar or honey for sweetness.
For garnish, you can also add some fresh cranberries, oranges, or even a cinnamon stick.
This mocktail is perfect for those who want something on the tart side but still refreshing and holiday-themed.
I personally love a good cranberry-orange punch alongside savory, salty holiday meals like turkey and ham or macaroni and cheese.
A ginger basil grapefruit spritzer is the perfect mocktail for those who love unique flavor combinations.
You can easily make this with grapefruit juice, seltzer water, fresh ginger, and fresh basil leaves.
You can also add a little lime juice or simple syrup to sweeten it up if you like.
I love this drink because it’s full of flavor but still light and refreshing. Ginger and basil are always a great combination because their bold flavor profiles complement each other well.
Plus, the sour grapefruit taste cuts through the spice a bit for a perfect balance.
It’s an excellent choice for holiday parties or any time you want to impress your guests with a special mocktail.
Non-alcoholic sangria is one of the best holiday mocktails for a group of people who prefer not to drink alcohol because you can make a bunch at once and pass it around with pitchers — my favorite way to drink sangria!
To make a pitcher of non-alcoholic sangria, combine red grape juice, white cranberry juice, seltzer water, and orange juice in a pitcher.
You can also add some fresh fruit like grapes, oranges, or cranberries for garnish or extra fruity flavor.
I love this mocktail because it’s easy to make, and you can tailor it to your taste. If you want it to be a little sweeter, add more juice or some simple syrup.
If you want it to be a little tart, add less juice or more seltzer water.
Either way, it’s a delicious and festive drink that’s a hit at holiday events.
You can even make this mocktail in bulk and let others add their preferred red wine to it if they want!
Moscow mules are great for mocktails because ginger beer is already such a delicious drink on its own!
If you want to make a tasty Moscow mule mocktail, I suggest using ginger beer, lime juice, and seltzer water.
You can add a little bit of simple syrup if you want it to be on the sweet side.
I also enjoy adding fresh mint leaves for the finishing touch because it perks up the flavors even more while simultaneously giving the drink more “holiday cheer.”
Because it isn’t as sweet as some of the other mocktails on this list, a Moscow mule is my favorite for holiday lunches and dinners to eat with food. Try it with cranberry brie bites or cauliflower gratin.
Hot cocoa is a classic, highly-loved winter drink, but you can easily make it into a festive mocktail by adding peppermint to the mix.
To make a tasty peppermint hot chocolate mocktail, combine milk, cocoa powder, sugar, peppermint extract, and crushed candy canes.
You can also garnish with whipped cream, more crushed candy canes, or a candy cane stirrer.
And, of course, if you want your hot chocolate to be extra sweet and delightful, throwing on some marshmallows at the end is never a bad idea.
Peppermint hot chocolate is my favorite non-alcoholic holiday beverage, especially for those cozy evenings by the fireplace or firepit.
You can’t go wrong drinking hot chocolate and swapping stories with friends and family.
I find that mocktails are often too sweet.
Alcohol tends to cut some of the sweetness from a drink, and without it many cocktails are just too sugary in my opinion.
Luckily, using kombucha can cut some of that sweetness, which is why I love this cranberry kombucha mocktail.
If you like kombucha, mix a classic flavor (I like ginger) with cranberry juice, ice, and garnishes like fresh ginger, rosemary, and whole cranberries.
You can sip this mocktail and enjoy the holiday festivities without any alcohol necessary.
