Bang Up to the Elephant! is a Denver 5-star-certified vegan restaurant that serves beach-shack food and mouthwatering tropical cocktails. The building’s colorful exterior is a Denver staple that sits a few blocks southwest of the Civic Center Park. If you visit Bang Up to the Elephant! you must start your meal with the Jerked Edamame or the Potato & Plantain Mofongo. They make a mean coconut curry bowl. The Cubano sandwich made with jackfruit and seitan-ham rocked my world. Although the food here is incredible, it’s the atmosphere that shines. Guests feel transported to a tropical island in the middle of downtown Denver. The vibe is casual and the people are friendly and accommodating.

However, their food is made solely with plant-based, sustainable ingredients you can feel good about eating. My favorite menu item at Meta Burger is the classic cheeseburger. If you’re feeling more adventurous, try the Supernova with habanero jam, pickled red onions, and jalapenos. They also have the best vegan cheese fries and mozzarella sticks. Of course, no meal at Meta Burger is complete without one of their signature shakes. There are several delicious flavors to choose from, and all are gluten-free.
