Seoul Garden is located next to the 711 on Royal Lane. The area is commercialized, with plenty of gas, groceries, takeout, and shopping around the restaurant. It’s a great place to stop for a bite if you’re out running errands for the afternoon. My favorite thing about this place is that you can grill right at your table. When you order two or more items from the BBQ menu, the staff will bring you a charcoal grill. I recommend trying the Deungsim Jumulluk (marinated rib eye), with the Woo Samgyubsal (un-marinated pork belly). Typically, Korean BBQ in Dallas is served with rice and lettuce. After grilling your meat, you can eat it with rice or wrap it in a lettuce leaf.
Also on Royal Lane, next to Hanmi Bank, is Korea House. This is an excellent venue for private dinners, group functions, and business gatherings because the restaurant offers private executive rooms and a banquet hall that seats 80. Korea House offers a more moderate to upscale feel than the small diner vibes of Seoul Garden. Korea House’s menu is straightforward and concise. It offers a small selection of refined Korean BBQ in Dallas, including my favorite, their Yooksu Bulgogi. This is a Bulgogi beef BBQ with mushrooms, glass noodles, and rice cake served with a spectacular beef broth. Not much for the beef? Korea House has a fantastic chicken BBQ dish in their Dak Gui. It’s marinated in a sweet and spicy sauce, which pairs perfectly with their cold soju.
Four blocks up the road from the famous Gas Monkey Garage, nestled in Asiana Plaza, is Sura Korean BBQ Buffet Dallas. If you want an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ in Dallas, this is the place to visit. One of the reasons I love Sura Korean BBQ is the cultural offerings. If you want to learn about Korean food and how to eat it, the staff is happy to share their knowledge. Also, the banchan (side dishes) is top-notch! Heading to Sura Korean BBQ for a bite? I recommend getting the fried dumplings and Chadolbagi (thinly sliced brisket). Pair these with the Soybean paste stew, garlic, and mushrooms, and wrap it up in a lettuce leaf for a satisfying crunch. Feeling adventurous? Try the Jjukkumi, it’s baby octopus grilled to perfection, and it’s great on rice.
Burnin92 is a sassy little Korean BBQ spot on Emerald Street near Promise One Bank. Tucked into a small strip mall, the restaurant is unassuming from the outside but cozy on the inside. It’s casual with a splash of hipster chic, and I’m a personal fan of the small tables and moody lighting. One of the unique things about Burnin92 is their selection of BBQ items, including Wagyu, pork jowl, and beef tongue. Want to keep it a little more casual? I’d go for the beef bulgogi and pork ribs. Paired with a kimchi pancake and army soup, you will not be hungry when you leave.
Located on Goodnight Lane, Lee DaeGam is simple, satisfying, and, more importantly, hyper-focused on hygiene. This is a great place to eat if you’re nervous about germs in a buffet-style eatery. The restaurant even offers individual plastic gloves for patrons to wear as you serve yourself. While this is typically known for Korean BBQ in Dallas, they also have Shabu Shabu, a delicious hot pot-style soup. Okay, forget the cleanliness for a minute, and let’s talk about food. I love Lee DaeGam for two main reasons: Hawaiian steak and spicy webfoot octopus. I know these aren’t typical fare, but I can’t help myself. I love them. The octopus is chewy and flavorful, and the Hawaiian steak is perfectly cooked with just that perfect amount of crispy caramelization.

Another Royal Lane Korean favorite of mine is Hot Stone & Korean Kitchen. The restaurant is snuggled into the Royal Lane strip mall, and although they don’t have an official menu, you can call for takeout. I’m a big fan of the grilled beef short ribs and spicy pork backbone stew here. I also recommend ordering the bean paste stew and cabbage leaves if you’re looking to wrap your Korean BBQ in something tasty. Not a fan of BBQ but want something with those deep savory Korean flavors? I love the spicy Korean ramen served here; it’s like a bite of everything in a deeply satisfying spiced broth.
Heading back to Emerald Street, the Soju 101 Karaoke, Bar & Korean Kitchen has a little bit of something for everyone. This is a fantastic spot to hang out with friends or colleagues, especially on the weekends. Not only is the food great, but you can rent yourself a private karaoke room and sing your heart out after the meal. Soju 101 is not far from Burnin92, just across the strip mall actually, but it couldn’t be more different. This is the place to be for cocktails and soju, and what goes better with drinks than Korean BBQ in Dallas. I love coming here for BulDak (super spicy chicken) and Jaeyuk Bokum (sweet and spicy pork and veg). If you want to switch things up with some Latin and Korean fusion, try the bulgogi quesadillas and bulgogi tortilla pizza.
San Jang Korean Restaurant on Harry Hines Boulevard has an atmosphere with a capital A. The wooden tables and wide selection of traditional Korean side dishes make this one of the best places for comfort food with a bit of added spice. If you’re heading to San Jang, I recommend the pork belly and short ribs all the way and don’t skimp on the kimchi. The kimchi here is pickled to perfection, with just the right amount of heat to spice up your beef bulgogi without overpowering it. Not a fan of hot food? No problem! Let your waiter know. I brought a friend to this restaurant once who couldn’t handle the heat at all. She ordered the pork belly and chicken teriyaki and had only good things to say.
For Korean BBQ in Dallas with a fine dining experience, there’s no place I’d go but Koryo Korean BBQ. Another addition to Royal Lane, Koryo gives various options for Korean BBQ lovers, including appetizers, combos, a la carte ordering, and catering. The bulgogi here is to die for, but I’m going to recommend something a little out of the ordinary. I had the grilled mackerel here a little while back, and I have not been able to stop thinking about it. The meat was falling off the bone, tender, and seasoned perfectly. It wasn’t too overpoweringly fishy but had that grilled seafood flavor I sometimes crave. Not a fish fan? LA galbi short ribs are sticky, sweet, and unforgettable.
Just next to Narungji Chicken on Emerald Street is DanSungSa. This place is excellent if you’re out with friends and some people want spice while others want their food plain. The menu tells you exactly how much heat to expect, and there’s a vast range of side dishes and appetizers to tide over the non-BBQ lovers. This is the place to go if you love pork. I can’t stress this enough! The grilled pork belly, sweet and spicy pork, and pork bulgogi are among my absolute favorites. Want to try something really different? Order the Jokbal. These are braised pig trotters marinated in a garlic soy blend made in-house, and while they sound a bit off-brand for typical Korean BBQ in Dallas, they will knock your socks off!
